Points could only be obtained by decomposing entries. Sixteen Nights, or Izanami, knew this well from the time he was three years old.
Back then, in order to blend in with the Hyuga Clan's circle, he befriended a group of children and played Ninja games with them. His popularity, however, made him a target for resentment, leading to frequent conflicts with his peers. Among them were several children with white-tier Ninja qualifications.
When their entries were revealed, the system prompted Izanami with an option to either fuse or decompose them. After decomposing these entries, he earned a modest amount—twenty-five points. Each white entry granted him a random single-digit amount.
Now, when he decomposed a purple entry, he was rewarded with four-digit points all at once. Blue entries, on the other hand, could all be upgraded.
Curious about the process, Izanami couldn't help but click the plus sign behind his Chakra Control entry. Immediately, his talent panel changed.

[Talent Entries:]Ōtsutsuki Bloodline (Red)Super-Kage Qualification (Gold)Bloodline Limit·Byakugan (Purple)Full Attribute Constitution (Purple)Chakra Control (Purple)Medical Genius (Blue)[Points: 793]
The Chakra Control entry had upgraded from blue to purple, and there was no plus sign next to Medical Genius anymore. His points had decreased by 999.
He took a moment to reflect on the process. "Entry levels are divided into White, Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, and Red. Decomposing white entries grants single-digit points, purple entries yield four-digit points, and upgrading blue entries requires three-digit extremes. But how does the point system work? Is the value fixed, or is it random?"
Izanami thought for a moment, considering his theory: "If it's fixed, then white to green would cost 9 points, green to blue 99 points, blue to purple 999 points, purple to gold 9999 points, and gold to red 99999 points. And then... red upgrades to an unknown new level, costing 999999 points?"
He didn't know for sure. Currently, he had no low-level entries to experiment with, and his points were limited. Even if he had more points, Izanami wasn't inclined to use them on low-level entries.
Aside from special entries like Byakugan and Chakra Control, Izanami didn't plan on upgrading entries below red. His focus was on awakening the Reincarnation Eye. Once he achieved that, he would have access to a multitude of powerful abilities, including those of the Sage of the Six Paths.
A single pair of eyes would be enough to survive until the final battle of Shippuden. Rather than wasting points on low-level entries, it was smarter to invest in upgrading his Ōtsutsuki Bloodline. If he could increase its purity, it could match the Ōtsutsuki Clan's extraterrestrial bloodline. That might even unlock different colors of the Rinnegan, or abilities like Karma and Divine Art.
Of course, these were just his assumptions. It was still too early to know for sure.
Time passed quickly, and soon it was September 1st—the start of the second semester at the Ninja Academy.
This semester, Izanami attended class in person, but only for the afternoon sessions. The mornings were dedicated to cultural classes, while the afternoons included physical education, shuriken throwing, and a physical combat duel.
Unfortunately, the physical combat duels were randomly assigned by Iruka Umino. Izanami didn't end up matched against Uzumaki Naruto, Uchiha Sasuke, or even Hinata.
"Iruka-sensei, can I request a match against Sasuke?" Izanami asked, taking the initiative.
Iruka hesitated, then shook his head. "No special treatment in the physical combat duels. Their purpose is to teach you how to face opponents of varying strengths. You'll encounter foes who are stronger, weaker, or evenly matched with you. You need to adapt to all types of battles—be it crushing victories, tough fights, or painful defeats. That's how you grow."
"I understand, Iruka-sensei," Izanami replied, accepting the answer without further protest. He decided to wait until after school to ask Uchiha Sasuke for a sparring session.
However, Sasuke's response after school made Izanami's mouth twitch.
"Sasuke, do you want to spar?" Izanami asked again.
"Sorry, I'm not interested," Sasuke replied bluntly, already heading off. "I've got to go home and practice."
Sasuke, who wasn't yet the vengeful figure of the future, wasn't aloof, but he unhesitatingly turned down Izanami's offer and hurried home.
After the Nine-Tails Rebellion, the Uchiha Clan had been forced to move their residence from Central Street to the outskirts, near the Nanga River, due to suspicion of their involvement in the incident. Sasuke, who hadn't yet mastered the Body Flicker Technique, still needed to walk a distance to get home from the Ninja Academy.
He simply didn't have time to engage in a duel with Izanami; he was too focused on his training with his older brother.
Before Izanami could provoke Sasuke into a confrontation, Sasuke had already dashed off, leaving Izanami feeling slightly helpless.
Izanami didn't consider making an appointment with Uzumaki Naruto. Although there was no final exam to determine the top student, Naruto had already secured the lowest score in the grade for the first semester. Even the worst students knew how to pronounce "Chakra," but Naruto was the only one who mispronounced the word even after graduation. This made it clear that his performance in cultural classes was dismal—similar to his results in the Chunin Exams, where his answer sheets were either blank or filled with random guesses.
Physically, Naruto was malnourished and couldn't even reach the middle ranks in physical education. As a top student, Izanami knew that challenging someone at Naruto's level would likely attract the attention of ANBU, as well as Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura, who had been keeping an eye on Naruto. While Sarutobi might not be overly concerned, Danzo would likely view this as a potential threat. He might suspect that Izanami had inside knowledge or think that he was sent by someone to get close to Naruto, perhaps even viewing him as a pawn in some larger scheme. This could lead to unwanted scrutiny or action from them, which Izanami wanted to avoid at all costs. His situation would become far too precarious.
For now, Izanami decided to focus on Hinata and Uchiha Sasuke as his targets. After being rejected by Sasuke, he didn't press the matter. It was already September in Konoha 54, with only three months remaining in the year. The following year would bring the tragic event that would turn Uchiha Sasuke into an avenger. By then, Sasuke would likely not refuse a challenge from Izanami.
The next day, Izanami still attended class but refrained from approaching Sasuke for a fight or trying to make an appointment after school. It might have been beneficial to match Sasuke and Naruto, but there were other classmates worth considering. Aside from the two future saviors of the Ninja World, this class also included the new generation of Ino-Shika-Cho and members of the Sensory Unit. All of them were guaranteed to have at least white-tier Ninja qualifications. Even if their entries were just white, decomposing them would yield some points—though they would only be in single digits. However, students like Shino were far more likely to have blue, purple, or even gold and red entries. Revealing just one of those would be a significant gain for Izanami.
Uncertain whether Izanami's shadow clone could reveal entries, Izanami knew he couldn't afford to skip afternoon classes.
