The next morning Maria Moore got out of bed and went into the washroom for her morning routine and after she was done she got dressed in a lilac half length dress, she did her hair in a loosed french braid backward.
"Good morning ma'am_ you look stunning" Lila greeted.
"Good morning Lila, thanks but no thanks as am sure you said that because the color am on is your name" Maria told her
"Yeah but it looks good on you ma'am" Lila told her still admiring her good looks.
"Ma'am I've been meaning to ask_ are you sisters with the late musical artists Maria Clark" Lila asked causing Maria to spill out the content in her mouth.
"Am so sorry ma'am" Lila apologize as she tried to help clean up the mess, Maria Moore got up and went into the kitchen to wash and blowdry her hands.
"Am so sorry ma'am please save my job" Lila pleaded.
"About that there's nothing to worry about, I'll be leaving now" with that said she took her work bag and left.
Upon arriving at the company Edward James she saw Edward James inside his private elevator but he didn't notice her yet. She hid behind a flower vase but it was too late as his assistant had already seen her.
" Boss, ma'am is behind the flower vase" the assistant told Edward James who was focused on his phone but raised his head, just before the elevator could close he noticed the long fair legs standing behind the white lily flower vase; he smiled but didn't stop the elevator to which surprised the assistant.
"Boss you_"
"Let her have fun" Edward James said cutting him off
Maria Moore took a deep breath as she came out of her hideout then got into the workers elevator to the CEO'S floor.
"Bring my coffee Priya" Edward James said to his assistant as he walked into his office.
"Yes Edward" Priya said causing Edward James to pause in his tracks just then he heard soft clicking sound of heels approaching and he doesn't need anyone to tell him who it was even without turning back_ still he gave the command.
" It is young master James or Mr Edward James to you Priya_ if you still want to keep your job fix yourself" he said sternly and closed his office door.
The secretary was pissed off, she has worked in the Edward James company for Three years now hoping that her god looking boss will notice her but he doesn't care about her, just when she made to turn to get his coffee she stumbled on Maria causing the files in her hands to drop.
If looks could kill Maria won't have survived it to the hospital, as Priya glared daggers at her.
Maria took in her every move knowing fully well that this secretary is one of those girls who wants to climb up the social ladder either by crook or by hook.
Maria was about to ignore the bitch but this leach stingged to her by holding her back on her wrist.
"Don't think I don't know what you're up to and be warned, stay off my Edward he is mine" Priya said to her but Maria shaked her hand off her. Then looked straight ahead before speaking
"Edward I never knew you're a commodity, I should have bought and owned you placing my seal on you". Maria Moore said
"Am neither a commodity nor a property"came the voice which struck Priya like the lightning in August.
"Apologize!" Edward James told Priya who's face was pale like the lab coat.
"Am sorry Ms_"
"That's not acceptable_everyone listen up!" Edward James called out the other staffs working on his floor as he interrupted Priya.
"This is Maria James the chief designer, if you love being on the streets you can cross her" Edward James said with sarcasm, everyone who knew him knows the meaning behind those words.
"You literally scared them" Maria said when they were both inside Edward's office.
"They should know who's the boss here" Edward said as he took his seat
"But am not the boss you're and why did you introduce me as Maria James?" She asked not that she was upset.
"What then should I address you as_ Maria Moore, Maria Cent Clark hmm" he asked with raised eyebrows but Maria said nothing.
"I guess someone isn't ready for the news yet" he said
