Michelle wasn't ready to be termed as an homewrecker and not to her favorite cousin. "Maria, Edward isn't such a man, he invited me over just_" Michelle was saying but Maria wasn't ready to listen to which infuriated Edward as he clench his fist holding up his pent-up anger
"Maria don't walk away please" Michelle said trying to stop her but Maria forcefully withdrawals her hand; thank goodness Michelle was on sneakers which prevented her from falling but she slightly grazed her hand on the wall making her moan in pain.
Maria felt sorry for her actions but when she saw the disappointed look from her husband she turned heading back upstairs
"No Maria, you can't just walk away_ don't be stubborn and stop this madness!" Edward couldn't help but raise his voice at her and she stopped in her tracks.
"Mrs Bridget please get the first aid kit for Michelle" Edward told Mrs Bridget who had been in the kitchen
"Alright Edward" replied Mrs Bridget as she brought the one normally kept in the kitchen for the staffs
"No get mine" Edward James told her
"Edward am fine with this, it's just a minor graze" Michelle said giving Edward the signal that his wife is listing and he sighed audibly if not that he doesn't want to complicate things he would have treated her injury.
Maria took them by surprise as she came back " it's my fault you sustained an injury and am sorry" she said to which Edward didn't expect from her and he felt sorry for raising his voice
" You're pretty Michelle but am disappointed you choose to be the other woman not to anyone but your cousin, you're such_" Maria was saying but Mrs Bridget couldn't hold back
"Ma'am that's not true, I've known Michelle since her childhood and her relationship with the young master is nothing but friendship" Mrs Bridget said but Maria scoffed
" You speak when you're spoken to" Maria told her, Edward sighed
"Sweetheart you're stressed and it's not good for the baby, I think you should get some rest" Edward James coaxed but what Maria said next drove him to hell and back again
"Oh trying to play the baby card now, I regret that you have knowledge of my child" she said locking eyes with Edward
"What did you say" Edward James asked but Michelle felt terrible as she thought she's the actual problem
"You heard me right Edward, I'd prefer you don't know about it".
"You sure have guts to stand before me and vomit trash, now I get it; you never really wanted to tell me not because you're scared of my reaction_ you're selfish to try deprive me of my child"Edward told her, the two locking eyes and Maria let out a mocking laugh
" I should have known better Edward, that you never loved me and all this is just pretence and am a replacement and someone else shadow. It would have been best I died of my depression and trauma and not trying to be a better person for you. I regret my efforts because you're just like_" she was saying but Edward couldn't just stand there seeing the tears she's trying so hard to hold back so he pulled her in for a hug holding her tightly even though she kept putting up a fight, the strength of a woman can't be compared to a man despite her training on the mountain she can't be compared to Edward James.
"Please don't do this please I beg of you my love_ am sorry you heard what you heard but I swear on my late mother's grave that I have nothing intimate or whatsoever to do with Michelle. We're nothing but cousins who grew up together as friends but we had our fallout when she got pregnant for same guy I warned her against; I didn't trust her judgment the last time at the James resident so I asked someone to send me details about her from the time we last spoke" Edward James explained still hugging his wife but released his grip on her when she stopped struggling.
"I invited her over just so she can clear your doubt, am tired my precious queen am not sure I'll survive another night and day like this, please I need my wife back please my love and am sorry in whatever way I might have wronged you please" Edward said now cupping her face with his hands locking eyes with her. Maria wasn't sure what next to do because she knew she over reacted, she should have put her fears of losing her husband aside and hear him out, well you can't blame her for being a jealous lover and wife her husband is fucking handsome and to crown it all he is a multi billionaire.
Taking a deep drag of breath, Maria closed her eyes to exhale then removed her husbands hands from her face causing him close to his eyes thinking otherwise.
"Michelle am shamefully sorry for my actions towards you today, right now am chicken hearted to ask for your forgiveness" Maria said as she stood before Michelle, the latter as well got to her feet
"I'd do same and more Maria" Michelle reassured her giving her shoulders a gentle massage but Maria pulled her into a hug.
"That's more like it ma'am" Mrs Bridget said excitedly and Maria went to her and they both hugged
"Am sorry Mrs Bridget, I spoke rudely to you" said Maria
"You're the boss ma'am" Mrs Bridget said smiling
"It's still not right" said Maria
"Anyways you should eat ma'am you haven't eating all evening, dinner is served" Mrs Bridget told her
"Thank you_ come Michelle join us for dinner" Maria invited as she took her hands walking towards the restaurant but she looked at her husband " come on Ed" she said with her signature smile which lifted up his spirit.
The atmosphere on the table was filled with humor as Maria got to hear about Edward's childhood.
"Am happy Edward finally settled down and also to someone who can kill for his sake" Michelle said with a wink at Maria. "You can't blame me for my insecurities Michelle, he's damn too gorgeously handsome like a malegod" Maria defended and she got a broad smile from her husband.
"If I were Edward I won't let you out without at least two security escorts with millions of invisible ones_ you're naturally breathtaking" Michelle complimented her looks
"Oh please don't flatter me, not with those aqua blue eyes of yours coupled with your dimples and gap teeth, it's enchanting when you smile just like my husband" Maria said to her and Michelle shrugged " that's the James blue blood for you" Michelle said and they all continue with their meal chatting away, Edward James was the happiest of them all
