Chapter 6 - Noisy Companions

The party was walking in a forest, Lucas was at the rear with Ahriman while Tories walked in font of them confidently, Lucas tiredly all morning to teach Ahriman his language, but it revealed itself a difficult task.

"Uff, what hell of a language do you speak?" Exclaimed Lucas, after not understanding a single word of what Ahriman tried to say, that little guy's language didn't seem to come from anywhere near.

Little did he know that the one in front of him was the former demon king and that he was promising himself that the moment he would regain his power he would kill him with his own hands.

Ahriman couldn't explain the situation to himself, first they trapped him and then they were obligating him to learn their language, he was really bad in learning new languages, and this situation only made him more angry.

For the first few days they only travelled together, there wasn't really any important interaction between Ahriman and the two adventurers, they often fought one another, with time Ahriman began understanding their principals characteristics.

The big woman with the beat ears was always ready for a fight, she never got tired and was always laughing, even in the moment were they needed to be careful, she was also the stronger of the two, one time Ahriman saw her cut a tre in half with a swing of her hand.

The man was essentially different, he was careful, calculating and always with a backup plan, he was the mind between the team, wherever they were going he knew the best terrains and the safer zones.

The two of them couldn't be more different, Ahriman began rethink their killing date since they were so funny, when a decision was to be made, they seemed more dangerous to themselves than the enemy, maybe he could delay quite a bit with some stratagems.

After two weeks of travel Ahriman began understanding the basics of the language they spoke, so one night he tried to talk to them, The fire of the camp was creeping, dancing in the shadows, his now small voice asked "where are here?" Even if incorrect it was still understandable.

The two of them gave him a surprised face, Tories was the first to answer...with a question,"What do you mean?! This is the occidental continent, everyone knows this..." while she was ranting Lucas seeing the confused face of Ahriman he took the opportunity to go near him.

After his approach he started telling stories and myths about the continent, Ahriman even of still a novice was able to understand a few of his words thank to Lucas speaking slowly.

The occidental continent was called that way because of the position it was, compared to the other continents it was also the continent with the most human kingdoms and empires.

As Lucas talked time flew, for the first time in a long time Ahriman felt his eyes fall, he was falling asleep, in his last lucid moments he heard a part the last story that Lucas wanted to tell him "...and so the Heroes summoned by the empire saved the Overworld by defeating..." Ahriman was too tired to pay further attention.

But one word remained in his minds 'Overworld', he already heard that word, when he was the Demon King, but he couldn't quite remember when or where.

Whatever, he had all the time in the world to search for the truth and understand where he was.
