Chapter 16 - A Song For The Youth

The courtyard was buzzing with life. Mani stepped forward, looking at the group of friends — old and new — ready to dedicate a playful song to the youth around him. Laya stood nearby, laughing, her hair fluttering in the breeze.

"Hello boys and girls,

This song is dedicated to all the youth of love".

New faces joined the scene: Ranganathan, Akshara, Pooja, and Anasuya — each bringing their own quirks and charm. Krishna and Gajanan cheered loudly, while Bharath and Hari began clapping a rhythm. Ashik started tapping a drum on a barrel, creating a lively beat.

"Looking at girls, I get tempted,

I melt away, my heart races.

In life, I get hurt,

But I forget everything when I see their smiles."

Laya twirled, playful and teasing, catching Mani's gaze. Even Sunitha and Monal jumped into the fray, mimicking dramatic swoons, while Akshara and Pooja danced along, creating a whirlwind of energy.

"When I fall in love, I get lost,

When I think of you, I get restless.

Why this pain,

In this birth, I am suffering."

Ranganathan pretended to faint dramatically, and Anasuya waved her hands in mock despair, making everyone burst into laughter. The courtyard turned into a stage, alive with rhythm, youthful energy, and playful chaos.

"Kanya Kumari's boat ride,

A match made by God,

A beautiful couple,

You and me."

Mani reached for Laya's hand, and for a moment, the world paused. Around them, Krishna danced atop a small ledge, Gajanan twirled a stick like a baton, Bharath jumped in rhythm with the drumbeats, and Hari did a playful slow-motion bow. Every character contributed to the spectacle, turning a simple song into a festival of life and energy.

"You are a love storm,

A whirlwind of emotions,

You are a bullet,

I am your target."

Even the new characters joined in the fun: Akshara spun in circles, Pooja clapped a rhythmic beat, and Anasuya shouted playful encouragements. Laya laughed, teasing Mani, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

"Looking at girls, I get tempted,

I melt away, my heart races.

In life, I get hurt,

But I forget everything when I see their smiles."

The courtyard erupted into laughter, dancing, and song. Everyone — old friends, new faces, Tamil and Telugu alike — became part of the music, part of the energy. Mani realized that life, love, and friendship could all exist together, in a colorful whirlwind of joy, mischief, and magic.

The courtyard was alive with excitement. Mani stood at the center, heart racing, as Laya appeared, twirling with the golden sunlight catching the sparkles in her hair. His eyes widened — she was no longer just the girl he adored; she felt like a goddess, powerful and enchanting.

"Oh girl, you are like a sharp knife,

Your sparkle flashes like lightning.

You make my heart skip a beat

Just by walking past me.

Wow, I am crazy about you,

I am restless thinking of you."

Krishna and Gajanan immediately began dramatic martial arts moves, pretending to guard Mani from the "dangerous aura" of Laya. Bharath joined, twirling an imaginary nunchaku, while Sunitha and Monal threw flower petals like confetti, turning the courtyard into a festival of chaos and joy.

"Madam, madam, just be mine,

I love you truly, my precious one.

Oh girl, feel the way I feel,

Shower me with all your love."

Laya laughed, her eyes sparkling with mischief, as Ashik and Hari performed exaggerated kung-fu stances, calling her "Kung Fu Kumari." Even the new characters — Akshara, Pooja, and Anasuya — joined, making dramatic leaps, spins, and poses, blending martial arts with dance in the most playful way.

"Mahalakshmi, Mahalakshmi,

Goddess of wealth and prosperity.

You are the embodiment of beauty,

The one who brings joy to the world."

Mani felt a thrill, realizing her presence didn't just captivate him — it electrified everyone around her. Every gesture, every smile, every playful dodge became a tiny spell, enchanting friends and lighting up the world.

"With your presence, the universe shines,

You are the light that dispels darkness.

You are the queen of the universe,

The one who grants all desires."

Krishna and Gajanan pretended to kneel, Bharath raised imaginary flags, and Monal tossed petals high into the air as if the courtyard itself were celebrating Laya's magical aura. Mani stepped forward boldly, holding her hand, letting the energy of the moment fuse their hearts.

"Run, run, let's go

Kung Fu Kumari

Ria, ria, ria, ria

Bruce Lee

Mega, mega, mega meter,

You are my lucky charm,

Let's make a love poster,

You are my lucky charm.

You are my Kung Fu Kumari."

The friends erupted into a playful chorus of cheers, mimicking martial arts moves, throwing petals, and dancing, turning the courtyard into a cinematic, magical festival. Mani and Laya laughed together, spinning through the chaos, their hearts beating in rhythm with the joy, admiration, and playful energy of everyone around them.
