In 1999, There's a group of five friends living together in a university hostel. They all share the same room and are studying engineering—some aspire to become mechanical engineers, while the rest dream of becoming pilots. Now it's the month of July, and with a full month of holidays ahead, they've decided to visit another city to unwind and make the most of their break. The five friends—Alex, Adam, Jack, Ali, and Jimmy—have just arrived in the city, ready to embark on an exciting holiday adventure.
It's been around two weeks since they arrived in the city. One morning, after finishing breakfast, Alex brought up the idea of going hiking and spending the night camping. He described it as an adventurous escape. Adam, Jack, and Ali immediately embraced the idea with enthusiasm, but Jimmy was hesitant. However, Ali—Jimmy's closest friend—managed to persuade him, and soon they were all on board, ready for camping.
They collected some money to buy groceries and prepare for their camping trip. Ali and Jimmy went to the market and returned after an hour. They planned to make a salad with rice and also have a barbecue at night. In this group of friends, Ali was the only Muslim. He offered his prayer, and afterward, they got ready to begin their journey. Jimmy preferred to drive to the mountains, but the others disagreed and wanted to walk instead, as a warm-up for the upcoming hike. Around 9 o'clock, they began their journey. By 10 o'clock, they had reached the base of the mountain and started climbing.
At 11:30, they finally reached the gap between the mountains and discovered an ideal spot for camping—it resembled a large hollow, almost like a natural room. Adam and Jack began chopping vegetables. Alex, who was skilled in preparing rice and salad, took over the cooking duties. Ali and Jimmy were in charge of the barbecue.
There was absolutely no signal.
Adam suddenly said, "There's one thing I forgot to mention—tonight, there will be heavy rain, and it might even snow."
Despite the warning, they didn't worry about the weather and continued preparing the meal. After about two hours, nearly everything was ready. They had also brought along four bottles of water and two bottles of chilled soft drink.
By 1 o'clock, the rain began. They were eating while soaking in the moment, enjoying both the food and the downpour. The rain was torrential, accompanied by flashes of lightning and rolling thunder.
After the lightning flashed, all the friends mysteriously vanished. How they disappeared will revealed in Chapter 2 of Journey to the Mountain."
