Chapter 23 - CHAPTER 22

"They're on the fifth floor, let's go," I said, and we all rushed outside.

"How did you know?" RJ suddenly asked.

"I just… know. Let's go—we must not waste time." I knew my answer didn't satisfy him, but he just nodded.

On our way to the fifth floor, we encountered several players from other teams.

"Shit, shit..." Xian cursed when some of them tried to steal his flag, but he simply used the two-finger method on the attacker's abdomen. I saw how she winced in pain. Still, we didn't manage to get her flag since she ran.

"It's not bad to break the plan sometimes..." I smirked, letting Xian and Len chase after the girl. I knew they'd come back soon—she was obviously a first-year and in pain. She couldn't fight two guys. I love women, but this is competition—no hard feelings.

"Oh la la! Saga no. 40 from the Purple Team now captured by Red Team's Quinlan no. 3!" the host announced. That's Jad. "Safiro no. 34 from Yellow Team now captured by Blue Team's Tim no. 66!" Xian succeeded—they caught the girl earlier.

We were already on the fourth floor when we saw some Green Team members guarding the area. We kept our noise low so they wouldn't be alerted.

"We did it—"

"Shhh!" They hushed Tim and Dico. Their noise had already alerted the other team.

"Gosh!" I said irritably.

"Sorry," they replied immediately.

"You really dared to target us?" said Kai, their leader.

"No. 33 Jano, draw close the area. Ian, go back to base—I feel like Yellow Team is targeting us," I said, and they immediately followed. As for the rest of us, we had to fight our way through. They couldn't escape—Drew had sealed the place.

We were on the stairs—limited space. There were only four of them, and seven of us. We could knock them out easily.

"Kai! Don't be a coward, come back here!" I shouted when he ran into a room. I chased after him and opened the door—but I got electrified.

"Kero Electric Mero," I murmured, using the same magior he used. With an extra boost spell, I forced the door open.

"Fuck—how did you do that?"'

"In my own way, Kai." I was about to attack the magior protecting their flag when I felt someone behind me. I was too late—they had already pushed me. I quickly murmured a spell: "Shield Improtaction." A shield formed instantly. Memorization paid off. I used my jujitsu to fight back.

"Avilla no. 49 and Kim no. 78 captured by Green Team's Vauge no. 18! Slayed the part!" I heard from the announcer. Then RJ, along with two others, arrived to back me up.

"RJ, be careful. They're missing three members."

I turned my focus back to Kai and the flag. I had to be quick—the electrified magior was weakening, and so was my shield. I used my belt to snap at him, but he dodged it easily. I didn't stop—I could tell he was starting to lose.

"Airo no. 50 from Green Team captured by Blue Team's Quimodo no. 14! Miko from Green Team also captured by Quimodo no. 14! Back-to-back Quimodo!" the host announced.

"Let's end this, Kai." He knew he couldn't use magior against me while I was shielded, so I seized the moment and beat him. Finally, he was captured—my belt wrapped around him.

"You got me on this, Mary!" he glared at me. I just smirked back.

"Jano no. 33 from Blue Team captured by Kagura no. 7 of Green Team!"

His last members had arrived—but too late.

I took their flag first, then secured ours.

"Kai no. 5 now captured by Quinlan no. 1! And with that move from Quinlan no. 1, the Green Team is now out of the game!" My shield fell, but it was done.

"Nice one, leader!" my teammates shouted.

"Come here, guys, let's take this to the camp." And we tasted our first win.

"Kai!" Kagura's voice still couldn't process that they'd lost.

We returned to base and saw their defeated expressions.

"Woo! Success!" As much as I wanted to be that happy, we were still not halfway there.

"One down."

"Purple Team down! Flag stolen, members outnumbered—led by Quinlan no. 3," the host announced referring to Jad's team. A bell rang, indicating the 20-minute mark and a 5-minute break. "Current situation: Green Team down, Purple Team down! That leaves us with Red, Blue, Pink, Yellow, Orange, Black, Gray, and Brown! See you after 5 minutes!"

"What's the next move, Mary?" they all looked at me.

"We have to move faster. The Red Team is advancing quickly. And I know my cousin—he's just having trouble finding our base, but the moment he does, he won't hesitate to run over us. We're leading closely behind them now."

"You're right. But are we still going to use the same tactics?" Kylie asked.

"Yes… we'll stick to them for now, but we'll change the guards," I said, which made them smile. "Brown, Yellow, and Orange are the teams that are outnumbered. I feel like Orange and Purple's bases are close—Red Team got a lot of Orange victims. So, your choice: what color should it be?"

"Let's start with Brown," RJ said. I looked at the others, and they nodded in agreement.

"Then Brown it is."

"Third floor—just across the lobby," he added.

"How do you know?"

"I saw them get out from there earlier."

"Hmm…"

"Okay, time's up!" Another bell rang and a countdown started—it was game time again.

"Drew, Xian, and Quimodo, you stay here. Quimodo, you've got the force, so if needed, use your expertise to call us," I said simply.

Quimodo was strong, but Drew and Xian weren't.

I saw Rhean—Brown Team? She was Miro's rumored girl, but I didn't care. I would capture her. I wanted to see what was so special about this woman.

"Enemies!" she shouted when she saw us.

"How many left in their team?"

"Seven."

Let's go… We ambushed their room and had a little warm-up before facing their leader. But when I saw their flag, I was speechless—they had duplicated it a thousand times.

"Ahh!" They held me tightly. "What the heck? Is this how you want to play? Very cowardly," I said mockingly.

"I don't care what you say—we're free to do this."

"Oh! Is this real? Orange Team is helping Brown Team, and now the Blue Team is outnumbered! No. 18 Vauge from Blue Team captured by Orange Team!"

"RJ…" No, no, no. RJ got captured. This can't be. Not him.

"What's wrong, Quinlan? Feeling defeated?" Zera, leader of the Orange Team, no. 15, taunted. "By the way—you're alone. Your teammates ran and left you."

I didn't answer. I used my magior to speak through the air—this magior is called Majestic, somehow.

"Blue Team—do not let the other teams find our base. Don't worry about me. Protect yourselves. Protect our flag." I delivered the message through telepathy.

Yes, telepathy is considered gold-tier magior. A lot of people want to learn it, but not many do. And those who do are usually old—and soon to die.

"No. 15… You might forget who my father is… and whose building this is."

"I don't know you. And I don't care who your father is."

With a slip of the finger, I was already free from their grip. I turned instantly and grabbed both their arms, twisting them.

"Ahh!" they cried in pain.

"Dico no. 65 from Blue Team is captured by Cesa no. 29 from Orange Team."

Fuck. Two of my members are down.

Let me clarify something you might get wrong with it. Quinlan no. 1 is Mary. While,

Quinlan no.3 is Jad.

Just be free to tell me if you get hard time to understand cause this chapter is quite long:))
