I hear a faint buzzing sound and the smell of something rancid. I tried to reach out with my hands but I felt nothing. I felt trapped and suddenly I felt a surge of electricity coursing through me. The shock woke me up and I looked to see that my body was replaced with a mechanical one. I screamed in fear and jumped up only to be tased by security. Then others kept a distance as an elderly woman said that I had survived an accident. I had saved people from a terror attack and suffered severe injuries. This facility replaced the broken parts with machinery to ensure my survival. I was panicking so she told everyone to leave. She used a remote to deactivate my body and she walked away too. I was left to calm myself down. After I managed to get some sense serenity a young man wearing a plastic suit walks and gives me meds. He said that my internal organs are intact so I will be fine. I asked him why everyone left and he said that I am a strong cyborg under stress. In my panic I may have flung the nice woman across which could result in her death or incapacitation. This was a precautionary measure. He gave me something to calm me down and then he told me to get some rest because tomorrow I will be moved to a different quarters.
The next morning I was placed in a wheelchair with my body still deactivated for safety. We used an elevator to go down eight floors. One side wall metal wall with absurdly weird patterns on it. On the side was a pane of glass. There were men and women who were exercising. Some lost legs, some lost arms, eyes and lungs. All replaced with machinery. These people watched as I was hauled in and they took me to doctor Dire Gray's office. She made sure I was calm and collected before she switched on my suit. I gently got up and she happily ushered me to the gym. I was introduced as Katie. The others happily introduced themselves too. The two who lost both legs were Fred and Parker. The one with the mechanical respirator was Jake. The one with cyborg arms was Maria, Torrez, Herman and Victor. The one with mechanical eyes was Turner. They seemed interested in the new enhancement. Apparently I am the newest upgrade. We shook hands and they went back to their exercises. As for me I was shown my room. It feels weird like I don't belong here. I wanted to go out but I had to understand how to maneuver this thing. The way that people were staring was annoying. It was like they wanted to say something but someone had told them to shut up.
