As Veronica stood in front of the strange creature Alex thought of a way to save her with further startling her as he approached from behind.
He levitated and flew into the air landing on top of the monster within seconds.
His hand glowed as he lifted them the girl backed away and fell down as she did.
" Veronica , the only thing in these woods you should fear is me." Alex said , then he blasted the monster with the glowing power that escaped from his hand .
The monster disintegrated beneath him and he gently descended to the ground like an autumn leaf falling slowly as light wind made it danced to the ground.
When his feet touched the ground , he smirked at the terrified girl.
He walked up to her and extended an hand to help her up.
She took his hand and stood to her feet.
" Thank you for saving me." She said , staring at the ground.
" Saving you is like saving myself you know . Letting you die would be suicide." He told her and she blushed.
She didn't understand why Alex cared so deeply for her , but she was just glad he did.
Alex gripped her hand tightly , the released a bit as a form of reassurance that she'd be ok.
Veronica was traumatized by the monster and everything that had happened in the town and she was thinking about leaving.
Veronica walked briskly pulling Alex along with her.
" It hasn't even been two days yet." Alex said out loud and she flinched.
" Two days since what ? " Veronica asked and Alex smiled.
The sunlight shone down on them through the trees as they walked hand in hand.
" Two days since you've been here." Alex said , pulling her back.
" Let's get out of the forest then we can talk. Are you a psychopath ? That thing was huge and vicious. Let go of me ."
" Veronica , even the trees in this forest fear me and yet you raise your voice at me ? What if I was evil ? What if I was no different from that monster , just lurking around and looking to devour you ? " Alex ran his hand through Veronica's red hair and raised an eyebrow at her daringly.
He liked his lips and smirked showing his fangs.
" I heard humans are quite tasty. " He said and Veronica slapped him across his face.
He stopped talking , his expression changed and shock replaced his charming yet creepy grin.
" Listen. I must be asleep right now dreaming all sorts of nonsense. When I wake up I might be back at Tiffany's Aunt's House or maybe back in my home town." Veronica stated , then she bent over as sadness and fear ripped her apart inside.
Tears invaded her eyes and her face bent with raw emotions.
She was trying to convince herself that she was crazy but deep down she knew everything that happened was real.
She felt it , she saw it and there was no denying the reality or the truth.
This town was straight out of her nightmares even though she was wide awake.
Alex pulled her into his arms and carried her through the forest.
" Don't be afraid of anything here and it's ok I'd you're not afraid of me. I'm glad someone can still make me feel human." Alex said as he walked with Veronica in his arms.
His presence didn't feel threatening at all.
It just felt strange.
Ever since she saw him on the day of the sleepover she had been strangely drawn to him.
There were the sound of birds chirping and the sound of branches breaking under his feet as he walked.
Veronica felt overwhelmed by everything that had happened.
As soon as they were out the forest the strange blue eyed boy placed her down on her feet.
She just walked away from him and headed towards Aunt Sylvia's house.
She knocked the door repeatedly.
" Tiffany ! Tiffany , open the door . Tiffany ? "
The door swung open to reveal Lucas.
He stood there with a smile on his face.
" Veronica , Tiffany went out with Jess. You can chill with me if you want to." The younger boy offered and Alex glared at him.
" It's ok I'll wait in her room until she gets back."
Lucas pulled Veronica's hand.
" Come on we can get to know each other ."
" Stop ! " Veronica said pushing Lucas away and he frown , finally getting the idea that the older girl didn't want to be with him.
" You know you can come to my house right ?" Alex asked and Veronica nodded at him then she turned away from Lucas and walked off.
Alex held her hand.
" I really hope you don't live anywhere near this forest." Veronica said and Alex chuckled.
" Actually where I live is a safe place from monsters like those. There's a giant barrier that keeps them off of my property." Alex said and Veronica seemed a bit curious.
" I hope that's true if not I'm going back to my home town tomorrow. " Veronica warned and Alex laughed nervously.
Lucas stood at the door watching Veronica intensely before he came to the conclusion that he'd no longer try to make a move on her.
He took out hid phone to call Tiffany as he went back inside.
Alex and Veronica walked for six minutes before Veronica decided that she wanted to take a cab to his place but he just refused.
" Where I live is a secret place. I can't let cabs go there and besides that the barrier would stop them from entering miles before they got to my house."
" Alex I'm tired. Is there any other way ? "
" I can fly you there."
" Like in a plane ?" Veronica furrowed her brows as she made eye contact with the boy in front of her.
" In my arms. " He said and she stared at him without saying another word.
He turned around , hugged her before scooping her up into his arms.
" W-wait ! Put me down ! " Veronica shouted as she tried to push him away.
He lifted her off the ground and carried her , slowly levitating as he did.
He flew threw the air with the girl .
" I'm scared of heights , Alex ! "
She stared up at him.
" Then don't look down , look into my eyes and pretend that they're the sky." He smirked at her.
She immediately calmed down and started admiring the view instead.
His face was like a painting and she wanted to take in all of its beauty.
" You're staring a bit much now aren't you ? " Alex smiled.
" You told me to." Veronica defended herself, folding her arms across her chest.
She turn her head away from him and started to look at the trees and houses below them .
It wasn't that scaring afterall..
The forest was extensive and she couldn't see the end of it .
Trees reached out the the sky but stopped long before they could touch the clouds.
Houses seemed lowly surrounded by nothing but nature.
The sun danced on leaves and little furry creatures carried nuts as they ran along branches.
Veronica started to love the view.
The wind played with her hair and Alex never said a word for the rest of the journey.
Where the barrier started seemed to glow with light blue lights.
" We're here." Alex said and Veronica nodded.
He glided down to the ground with the girl still in his arms.
Branches cracked under their feet as they landed.
The place seemed dark and eerie.
They were no houses around for miles , but for some reason Veronica felt safe.
" Let's go inside." Alex said and he pulled Veronica by her arm as he he entered the barrier.
He pulled her inside it then held her close , staring into her eyes that were the color of grass.
She stared back at him as he closed the space between then.
The tension grew and Veronica's cheeks lit up with a bit of red.
He kissed her , softly then turned away still holding her hand.
" Welcome to my home." He said and they turned to face what seemed like a dark castle.
Sculptures were around it , a water fountain and a garden filled with spider lilies and Strange looking plants.
The placed looked creeping but she kept following him , her face red with excitement.
The walked the down the pathway towards the dark castle , hand in hand and thinking about each other only.
Lightning flashed in the distance lighting up the area for only a few seconds before it went back to darkness again.
Alex smiled a creepy smile , his lips curling upwards as the neared the castle entrance.
Veronica felt like his prized possession, she tighter her grip around his hand .
She looked at him with a feeling of live in her heart.
She smiled at him , as his beautiful face pulled her in.
With every step they made , she could imaging them walking down the aisle on their wedding day more vividly.
She was deeply in love.
Alex turned to her , caressing the side of her face gently with his hand.
" Tell me , are you ready for a sacrifice ? " Alex smiled sinisterly.
