When Eric went outside, it was already late in the afternoon. He almost cleared the zombies in the area, so, after minutes of walking, he quickly arrived at the most familiar gate.
He did not stop by those houses he perceived signs of life–either from zombies or humans. The only reason he entered the girls' boarding house was because they were screaming at the top of their lungs.
As soon as he arrived in front of the gate, he already saw a headless corpse of the zombie a bit far from him. He smiled. He knew Andrew must have gotten rid of the corpse to avoid polluting the boarding house.
When he opened the gate, he was welcomed by five people gathering inside the porch, seemingly having a serious conversation. When they noticed Eric's presence, they were surprised while Andrew walked towards him.
Meanwhile, Eric noticed Jasper's terrified expression when he saw him.
He shook his head. He glanced at Andrew and asked, "How is the situation?"
Andrew sighed in distress. "We only manage to gather half a month of food. As for the water, we hastily loaded all the containers available in the house, so it might not be safe for drinking, aside from the three five gallon water jugs."
Eric nodded. "That's fine. We can gather more later. I noticed most of the houses in this area have stores. We will loot them later."
He then stared behind Andrew, meeting the gazes of the other people. He then received their information from the system.
{Name: Axel Balgos
Potential: B
Title: Aspiring Agronomist
Stage: Unawakened
Abilities: Unawakened
Age: 21
Strength: C
Agility: C+
Durability: C-
Stamina: C
Intelligence: C
Remarks: He is too healthy for a student. Judging by his intelligence being surpassed by his physical attribute points, he might be more into sports than being a student.}
In fact, Eric considered the possibilities of the title being useless for those who sought more into sports than being aspiring professionals. The discovery confirmed his speculation that rather than the energy mutating the physique of the humans, perhaps only limiting the resistance to energy to completely mutate to a zombie, it more likely unlocked some parts of their brain, resulting in receiving a Title that seemed to be limited on cognitive ability.
Of course, it might not apply to him, whose Title has effects on his physique. I guess, it all leads down to the potential of the Title.
Eric shrugged and continued to read their status.
{Name: Nicholas Manalastas
Potential: B
Title: Aspiring Agricultural Engineering
Stage: Unawakened
Abilities: Unawakened
Age: 21
Strength: D
Agility: D
Durability: D-
Stamina: D
Intelligence: C
Remarks: At this point, seeing so many humans having the same attribute points as you, you should train them since, aside from building the Empire, they have to constantly fight zombies.}
Eric completely agreed to Yeobui's remarks. He already thought of creating a schedule, where they were forced to train their body to the limits before proceeding to their task.
Or it might be better to train before going to sleep. Eric thought.
{Name: Leonel Sanches
Potential: B+
Title: Aspiring Fisheries
Stage: Unawakened
Abilities: Unawakened
Age: 20
Strength: D+
Agility: D+
Durability: D
Stamina: D+
Intelligence: C+
Remarks: Although, according to Eric's memories, the place is near the ocean, I suggest not to venture on the most dangerous place. Hence, this guy might be useless, but not really.}
Eric shrugged. He did not believe in the notion of an individual being useless. He once led a group of people before–some are useless because of their personality, behavior, skills… which, in the end, really only matters on how to efficiently utilize them.
After Eric obtained their information, he refrained from reading through their Title, as it might take some time. In addition, he has been staring at them one by one with an indifferent expression for a while now. Judging from their various reactions, it was now time to break the silence.
Andrew noticed Eric went quiet and had been staring behind his back, he turned around and was stunned. Oh right, he might not be familiar with them. It is better to introduce them.
"Let us introduce you to them, Eric. Come inside."
Jasper, Axel, Nicholas, and Leonel simultaneously stood up. The former was staring at Eric in fear, while peeping at the two batons, seemingly cleaner than before. The remaining were staring at Eric in curiosity. Jasper and Andrew narrated their encounter with Eric and the zombie before.
Hence, they could not not help but wonder about the guy who terrified Jasper, obviously being stronger than any of them present, and impressing Andrew with his indifferent response to the apocalypse.
Eric noticed, after interacting with the girls, the importance of introducing himself, so he would not be questioned why he knew their name. He could not disclose the existence of Yeobui, right?
Furthermore, he really disliked having a lengthy conversation that seemed to be tearing down his private life.
Eric smiled at them and said, "I am Eric Fernandez. I have been in this boarding house for a whole year. Nice to meet you."
"For a year?" Leonal was surprised. "And I barely caught you. I guess, it is all because there are so many boarders on this house. Anyway, I am Leonel Sanches."
Leonel was wearing his college shirt–aqua in color. The design was filled with waves and fish. His skin tone was a bit dark brown–not surprising due to the tropical season in the Philippines.
Compared to Jasper, he was not ugly, he was average. Hence, coupled with his pleasant smile and amicable aura, Eric's impression of him was not bad.
Eric nodded at him and turned to Axel, who introduced himself.
"Axel Balgos. A basketball player in the College of Agriculture. I can fight zombies."
He meaningfully inspected Eric's body, seemingly conveying something.
Eric shrugged at his arrogant behavior. He admitted it, Axel was tall, his body was fit–just suffice to fight another individual. However, as for skills when it comes to fighting?
Jasper is obviously stronger than you.
Eric did not mind his behavior as he turned to Nicholas, who also introduced himself.
"I am Nicholas Manalastas, an agricultural student." Nicholas stared at him in distrustful eyes.
