Chapter 169 - Scary, Thor's Thinking!

After Loki's analysis, he quickly eliminated options B and D, leaving only A and C.

So, should he surrender, or deliberately set Thor up?

After some deliberation, Loki made his choice, saying to the big screen, "I choose C!"

Although surrendering was in line with Loki's style, the question stated that Loki surrendered just after Thor brought him to the Dark World. The word "just" was very important.

And what kind of place was the Dark World?

It was a dead star!

It wasn't a place Loki was familiar with.

So, after arriving in a completely unfamiliar place, Loki's first priority was to understand the situation before deciding to surrender or take other actions.

Scheming – no, any strategy required a foundation: sufficient information.

To decide to surrender just after arriving in the Dark World was a bit illogical.

So, comparing the two, it made more sense to trick Thor.

After answering, Loki's lips curved into a confident, faint smile, waiting for the system's reward.

But the next moment, the smile froze on Loki's face.

[Incorrect answer!]

The system immediately gave its feedback.

[The respondent, Loki Odinson, will be punished by having ten years of his lifespan erased. Execution immediately!]

Following this prompt from the system, Loki immediately felt something missing from his body. Clearly, it was those ten years of his life.

Loki's expression couldn't help but stiffen, becoming a bit unsightly. He didn't care about ten years of lifespan; after all, he was a god, with a long life.

But after getting the answer wrong twice in a row, Loki was a bit embarrassed.

"Thanks, Loki, for helping us eliminate one option," Tony Stark, that jerk, added insult to injury. "And it was a very misleading option at that."

"Tin Man, that's not fair!" Loki said to Tony Stark, his face drawn. "You clearly know the relevant information, but you're not telling me anything."

"Fair? What right do those who invade Earth have to talk about fairness?" Tony Stark couldn't help but sneer.

"Alright, Loki's finished answering. It's our turn for this question. Let's discuss it, everyone," Captain America glanced at everyone and said seriously.

"Now we still have options B, A, and D, but I think A can be ruled out because I don't think Loki is that stupid."

Captain America also shared his analysis.

"Stupid?" Loki was taken aback, then looked at Captain America with a serious expression. "It seems you do have some information I'm not aware of."

"When the Dark Elves invaded Asgard, Frigga didn't know Malekith at all. So, it's obvious that Thor and Loki's confrontation with Malekith happened after the Dark Elves invaded Asgard."

Captain America ignored Loki and continued speaking.

Everyone present nodded in agreement; this point was quite clear.

If Thor and Loki had fought Malekith in the Dark World beforehand, how could Frigga not know him?

"We all know that when Malekith invaded Asgard, he killed Thor's mother, Frigga…"

"Soldier, what did you say?" Loki's voice jumped an octave, and a chill suddenly emanated from him. "My mother will be killed? By that Malekith?"

Loki became agitated immediately, unable to remain calm.

"Yes." Captain America looked at Loki for a moment and nodded. "The quiz system has shown similar images before. The Dark Elves invaded Asgard and killed Frigga."

"Is that so?" Loki responded coldly, his eyes flickering. No one knew what he was thinking.

"We've all seen the footage. Although Malekith caused a lot of trouble in Asgard, they ultimately escaped. This shows that the Dark Elves' power at the time wasn't enough to defeat Asgard."

"So, with Asgard clearly having the advantage, would Malekith believe a prince of Asgard, traveling a long distance to the Dark World to pledge allegiance by severing another prince's arm?"

"Not to mention, Malekith also killed that prince's mother."

"Captain is right," Nick Fury nodded in agreement. "It's practically screaming 'something's wrong.' Malekith wouldn't believe it if he had half a brain."

"And our God of Trickery and Deceit wouldn't be stupid enough to do something so foolish."

Option A was eliminated without any debate.

Now only options B and D remained. Once they narrowed it down one more time, the answer to this question would be revealed.

However, at the moment, neither of them had any directly relevant clues to support their judgment.

We can only speculate based on what we know.

"Thor and Loki teaming up to put on an act? I can't even picture it. That's just not Thor's style."

Black Widow thought carefully, then immediately shook her head.

That muscle-brained Thor, who's always roaring to the heavens and calling for his father, could pull off something as delicate as acting?

The others found it hard to imagine as well; the styles just didn't match.

"D seems more plausible," Hawkeye Barton added. "Didn't Loki send people to kill Thor last time, only to fail?"

This ironclad fact had already proven to everyone that Loki indeed harbored murderous intent towards Thor!

Analyzing it this far, the answer gradually became clear. Obviously, "D" had a much higher probability of success than "B".

Option B lacks direct factual support and doesn't align with Thor's character. In contrast, Option D is more logical and supported by relevant facts.

The choice is clear to everyone.

"Wait a minute!"

But just then, Tony Stark suddenly remembered something.

He stared directly at Loki: "Even if you Asgardians are gods, if you get your hand chopped off, it won't grow back, will it?"

"Why would I tell you, tin man?" Loki sneered.

You share no information with me, yet you want information from me? What a good deal you're hoping for.

"How about this, we make a trade. If you answer this one question, I'll answer one of yours later," Tony Stark said calmly to Loki.

"Sounds fair," Loki agreed after a moment's thought.

After all, Tony Stark wasn't asking for any particularly important information.

"Even if the hand of an Asgardian god is cut off, it won't grow back," Loki added, speaking to Tony Stark.

"Exactly what I thought!" Tony Stark nodded. "Thor once said that Odin lost an eye in the war with the Frost Giants, but even now, Odin still only has one eye. Guys, have you thought of anything?"

"Stark, what have you thought of?" Nick Fury asked, his one eye fixed on Tony Stark.

"I've already hinted so obviously, and you still haven't figured it out?" Tony Stark shook his head slightly. "Thor's hand!"

"Thor appeared in the final battle, and his hand was perfectly fine!"

Everyone at the scene suddenly understood after Tony Stark said this.

"Thor said that the convergence of the Nine Realms will happen in two or three years, which means Malekith will invade Asgard in two or three years," Captain America continued, following up on Tony Stark's words.

"In that battle, Thor lost his mother. Knowing his personality, he wouldn't wait long."

"That means Thor will go to the Dark World soon to settle accounts with Malekith!"

"And the final battle will only happen more than a decade later!"

"So Thor didn't lose his hand at all!"

The title clearly stated that Thor's hand was cut off, so why didn't Thor lose his hand?

The answer had already surfaced.

"This is Loki and Thor putting on an act to deceive Malekith!" Hawkeye Barton's eyes lit up as he stated the answer.

"Well." Black Widow couldn't help but laughingly tease, "It seems Thor has grown up in the future."

Speaking, Black Widow glanced at the people present and asked, "Who wants to answer this question next?"

"I'm out!" Tony Stark shook his head first, indicating his refusal. "I don't quite understand what the Sunflower Acupoint Technique is, but it's clearly not a technology-based skill. I'm still interested in tech-related rewards."

"'Acupoint Technique', 'Lofty Waves, Subtle Steps', judging from the style of the names, these should be skills belonging to the Chinese Kung Fu category. These should be pretty good skills!"

Nick Fury glanced at the big screen and saw some clues from the naming. "Stark, are you sure you're not interested?"

"I'll pass. Whoever's interested can answer," Tony Stark continued to shake his head.

Although skill-based rewards are good, it depends on whether they're suitable. Based on the experience of answering so many questions, whether skill-based rewards are good or not actually varies from person to person.

For someone like Captain America or Thor, with their freakish physiques, they can make any skill work wonders.

But for someone with a normal physique like him, he'd better pass.

Far inferior to high-tech or some rare materials.

After Tony Stark withdrew, the only ones left to answer questions were Captain America, Black Widow, and Nick Fury.

Everyone briefly discussed it, and finally decided that Captain America would answer this question.

What they considered was actually similar to Tony Stark's. This kind of Chinese Kung Fu reward, similar to Lofty Waves, Subtle Steps, would naturally be placed in Captain America's hands to realize its maximum value.

After all, Tony Stark had already told everyone that this thing consumed stamina.

Who on the scene had stamina that could compare to Captain America?

"I choose B!" Captain America didn't waste any words and immediately stated his answer to the big screen.

[Correct Answer!]

[Congratulations to the contestant Steve Rogers for obtaining the reward skill Sunflower Acupoint Technique!]

A corresponding piece of information immediately appeared in Captain America's mind, and a look of surprise appeared on his face.

"It seems like a pretty good skill," Loki said from the side.

"It is indeed not bad," Captain America nodded, "but unfortunately, it's useless against you."

"Is that so?" Loki raised an eyebrow, a hint of smugness on his face. "Don't be discouraged, after all, I am a god!"

"Captain, what does this skill do?"

Hearing that it was useless against Loki, Black Widow couldn't help but ask curiously from the side.

"Simply put, I tap on specific acupoints on you, and I can immobilize you," Captain America thought for a moment and explained it simply to Black Widow.

Because the underlying principle was too complex, involving acupoints, Blood Essence, internal energy, and other profound knowledge systems, unless it was directly instilled like a system, Black Widow and the others wouldn't be able to understand it.

"Acupoints? What are those?" Nick Fury couldn't help but glance at Captain America, asking the question.

"They're something that exists within the human body, only in the theories of traditional Chinese medicine, not in Western medicine."

Captain America explained to Nick Fury.

"Freezing a person? That's practically magic!" Black Widow couldn't help but exclaim in admiration. Wasn't this a bit too unbelievable?

"Let me guess, does this skill, like my Lofty Waves, Subtle Steps, require the consumption of internal energy? But since you don't have that, you have to consume stamina instead?"

Tony Stark's words, though posed as a question, were quite certain, after all, he was a living example of it.

"Correct!" Captain America nodded. "And because of this, this skill is basically only effective against ordinary people, not very useful against those with enhanced abilities, and also not very effective against those with strong physical qualities."

But even so, this skill was still very useful for Captain America.

For example, when he was surrounded and beaten by a group of Hydra agents in the Triskelion, if he had this Sunflower Acupoint Technique, why would he have needed to struggle so much?

One person, a few taps, and the problem was solved.

Of course, Captain America was right, it wasn't very effective against those with enhanced abilities, but that was a general statement, and the specifics depended on the situation.

Some individuals with enhanced abilities had incredibly resilient bodies, requiring Captain America to expend a significant amount of stamina, to the point where the cost-effectiveness became low.

For example, against the likes of Loki and Thor, true gods, Captain America could exhaust all his stamina and it wouldn't make a difference.

In short, it couldn't be generalized.

But overall, this skill was indeed a very good one.
