"To slaughter half the life in the entire universe? Is that the goal of Thanos, that crazy Titan?" Star-Lord, stunned, couldn't help but exclaim.
Even the title "crazy Titan" didn't even begin to describe a fraction of the madness of such an act. This was true insanity. Much, much crazier than any madman Star-Lord had ever encountered in the stars.
"Whether Thanos is really that crazy, I don't know, but killing half and leaving half... that really is Thanos's style." Star-Lord mumbled to himself.
"Captain Marvel said she's going to snatch the Infinity Stones from Thanos and save everyone. What do you all think?" Black Widow's voice cut through the air as she glanced at everyone present, speaking with a meaningful tone.
"Natasha, you and Barton said something similar when you went to find the Soul Stone," Captain America was the first to recall, following up on Black Widow's words.
"When they found Thanos, the Infinity Stones were already gone, destroyed by him!" Thor also realized something. "So…"
"So they didn't get the stones, so Natasha and Barton went to that alien planet to find them!" Tony Stark continued Thor's sentence.
"So Stark and I traveled through time to grab the Scepter and the Tesseract!" Captain America finished Tony Stark's sentence.
The eyes of the few old folks in the audience immediately brightened.
Through the previous video, they connected some of the fragments they had obtained before, gradually forming a puzzle.
Although there was no evidence to show that these fragments fit together this way, they believed there was a high probability they were right.
Because this arrangement seemed reasonable and perfectly logical.
"But if that's the case."
However, Tony Stark quickly frowned slightly, as a contradiction arose. "Doesn't this mean that we traveled back in time to find the Infinity Stones after we chopped off Thanos's head?"
But during the previous quiz questions, everyone clearly deduced that they traveled forward in time during the Final Battle/Endgame.
"It's possible we traveled more than once," Captain America pondered for a moment, before hazarding a guess. "Or perhaps, there are other circumstances we don't know about."
The specifics of the situation remained uncertain for the time being.
"The question stated that Thanos snapped. So, it's clear that the trillions of lives in the universe perished due to Thanos's Snap."
"That time in Wakanda... Nick Fury and the others turning to dust, should also have been that time."
Tony Stark spoke again.
This was also a logical and perfectly reasonable deduction.
"Listen up: Dormammu, Lord of the Dark Dimension, invaded Earth but was stopped by Doctor Strange, Stephen Strange, and forced to leave. How did Doctor Strange accomplish this?"
"A. He defeated Dormammu directly with his immense power."
"B. He used the Time Stone to trap Dormammu in a time loop, forcing his surrender."
"C. He surrendered to Dormammu and became his follower."
"D. He appealed to Dormammu's emotions and successfully persuaded him."
"Friendly reminder: Those who answer correctly will receive the Seal of the Sling Ring. Those who answer incorrectly will randomly lose one of their attributes, including but not limited to knowledge, experience, skills, and possessions..."
Amidst the group's discussion, the latest question appeared.
Everyone paused their conversation, collectively looked up, and refocused on the big screen.
This question was specifically about Doctor Strange.
The moment the question appeared, its level of importance was immediately apparent. Everyone didn't know who the Lord of the Dark Dimension was, but just by looking at the title, it was clear he was a formidable being.
Leave Earth.
These four words also indicated that Dormammu came from the universe, from outer space.
"So, besides Thanos invading, Earth also has this guy called Dormammu?" Tony Stark was speechless.
What exactly had Earth done? Why did everyone want to invade it? And that wasn't even counting the Chitauri, whose arrival had already been nipped in the bud.
"Mr. Star-Lord..." Captain America turned his gaze to Star-Lord again, "Have you heard of this Dormammu?"
"Just call me Star-Lord, Mr. Star-Lord sounds weird." Star-Lord first corrected Captain America's way of addressing him with a serious expression, then shook his head, "I've never heard of this name. Maybe he's not that powerful, or maybe he's in a very, very distant galaxy."
Everyone automatically dismissed the first possibility Star-Lord mentioned. With such an awesome title, it wouldn't make sense for them not to be amazing.
"This feels really strange," Stephen Strange muttered, staring at the big screen. "Even though the question is about me, I feel like I'm watching someone else's story, and it's completely absurd."
"Then why don't you treat it like someone else's story and try to answer the question," Black Widow suggested to Stephen Strange.
"Alright." Stephen Strange nodded, perking up. He started to think, his brain working.
Tony Stark, Captain America, Thor, and the other veterans who had answered questions before, naturally, didn't need to be told and had already started analyzing.
"I don't think option D is very likely."
Tony Stark was the first to voice his opinion. "A cosmic bigshot crosses galaxies to come to Earth, and can just be talked into leaving? That interstellar bigshot's IQ can't just be five years old, right?"
Dormammu traveled thousands of miles to Earth. Whatever his purpose, it was definitely a rational and mature decision.
It's likely he'll only leave once he's achieved his goal. He won't be easily persuaded.
If someone were that capable, they wouldn't mind letting that guy try to persuade Thanos in the future.
Of course, nothing is absolute. No one can guarantee that this kind of thing won't happen. Talking someone out of something and saving the world isn't just a fairy tale.
But in short, the likelihood is very small.
"We have no evidence to suggest that the situation isn't as described in option D," Captain America said after a moment of thought. "So option D is a possibility. We need to compare it with the other options before making a judgment."
Captain America was being much more rational.
"First, I also think that the situation described in option D is unlikely," Doctor Strange followed. "Second, I'm not very good at, nor do I particularly enjoy, persuading others."
This was Doctor Strange himself making the judgment, based on his own personality, which was still a valuable reference point.
The possibility of option D was even lower.
Although it still couldn't be completely ruled out, everyone knew how they felt about option D.
"And then there's option C," Strange continued, turning his gaze to option C, "I will not surrender to anyone, nor will I become anyone's follower."
"That's the Lord of the Dark Dimension, Strange!" Black Widow emphasized. "That's an existence beyond your current understanding! That's an alien overlord! And we know nothing about what happened in that battle, so aren't you being a little too hasty in your certainty?"
Option C wasn't an option that could be judged solely on one's personality; it required more evidence to be persuasive.
However, if there was no other basis, they could only refer to Strange's personality.
"No, I think something's off with option C too."
Thor gave his own analysis, a rare occurrence. "I don't quite know what Dormammu's purpose was in coming to Earth, but he wouldn't have come just to recruit Strange, right? Option C sounds like that's the case."
After Strange surrendered, Dormammu left Earth. It sounded like Dormammu had come to Earth specifically for Strange.
Why else would he leave after gaining a follower?
Such a being coming to Earth likely had a more complex purpose.
"Follower?" Strange also caught onto something. "Is Dormammu some kind of evil god? But regardless, if it is a follower, shouldn't they seek more people? Followers are only meaningful in numbers."
"What you're saying makes some sense," Captain America nodded.
But it was only some sense, nothing more.
Captain America couldn't rule it out yet; he needed to compare it with other options before making a decision.
"Let's look at options A and B first."
Captain America followed up with a suggestion, and everyone present turned their attention to these two options.
It had to be said, these two options looked more reliable than C and D.
"We only know that Doctor Strange is a magician who participated in the Final Battle/Endgame. We don't know how strong he is, so we don't know if he can defeat Dormammu." Captain America continued.
"That's the theory, but the question says he intervened to stop him, and was forced to leave Earth. So I think Doctor Strange might not have defeated Dormammu."
"Otherwise, why wouldn't the question simply say Dormammu was defeated by Doctor Strange? That should be a simpler and more direct way of phrasing it, right?" Black Widow thought for a moment and said.
"The question says 'invading Earth,' not just invading a city like in the Battle of New York. This indicates that Dormammu possesses the power to threaten the entire Earth, just like Thanos," Tony Stark pondered, expressing his opinion. "Such a being shouldn't be defeated by a single person, right?"
"I mean, Doctor Strange shouldn't be this powerful, right? Does that mean he could protect Earth all by himself?"
"Stark, what exactly are you getting at?" Stephen Strange asked, a little bewildered by Tony Stark's words, and stared at him.
"Easy, Doctor, I'm getting to the point," Tony Stark said, holding up his right hand in a calming gesture towards Strange, and continued to talk.
"In the Battle of New York, me, Thor, Captain, Hulk, Natasha, Barton, we were all together, and it was still a tough fight."
"In the Age of Ultron, the Avengers plus Scarlet Witch and her brother, and Vision, although we don't know how the battle went, it must have been very difficult."
"Because if it was easy to win, why was Sokovia destroyed?"
"That was only a war that threatened a city! Then how powerful must the force be that threatens a planet? How powerful must the power be to protect Earth?"
"Okay, that's not the point. The point is, if Strange really has this kind of power, then he must be much, much more powerful than me, Thor, and Captain!"
"It's not even on the same level!"
It was easy to tell. After all, the three powerhouses had fought together in a battle that endangered a city, and even then, it was a struggle.
Yet, this person could protect the Earth all by himself. The difference was vast.
"So, the question is, if Doctor Strange truly possessed such power, why was it me, Thor, and Captain America who fought Thanos head-on during the Final Battle?"
"Doctor Strange just held up a single finger to me! He was reminding me how to deal with Thanos."
In the mixed battle between the two armies, with thousands of people fighting, it naturally came down to soldiers against soldiers and generals against generals.
People of what level fought opponents of what level.
With Doctor Strange's power far exceeding that of Tony Stark and the others, it would have been more reasonable for him to confront Thanos directly.
Instead of letting Tony Stark get badly hurt in the end, Doctor Strange didn't act himself, but let Tony Stark go and die.
After all, the premise of this assumption was that Doctor Strange was far stronger than Tony Stark and the others.
Of course, Tony Stark's analysis could only be said to have some merit, but it wasn't enough to definitively rule it out.
What exactly happened still needed to be compared with the other options.
Overall.
"Use the Time Stone to make Dormammu yield?"
Everyone finally focused on option B, but no one could really say anything definitive about it.
If the other three options, regardless of how reliable they were, could still provide a point for analysis and speculation, then option B was truly impossible to start with.
Option B refers to something that everyone is completely unaware of.
"The Time Stone, what's that?" Doctor Strange asked, a little curious.
Although one could guess based on the name, it was still best to confirm.
Thor explained the Time Stone to Doctor Strange and also gave him a rundown of all six Infinity Stones.
Both Doctor Strange and Star-Lord were stunned. Such a heaven-defying thing existed in the universe?
No wonder in the previous question, everyone wanted to kill Thanos to snatch the Stones.
