It wasn't just Tony Stark who felt a bit strange at the appearance of the Howard Stark option—everyone else on the scene did too.
Even though Howard Stark had long since passed away, he was still a well-known figure in America. Especially when the news of his car accident broke—it completely exploded across the media.
Basically, anyone who wasn't living under a rock knew of Howard Stark, even if they only knew Tony Stark personally.
At least among the six people in the quiz space, there wasn't a single person unaware of him.
Because of that, everyone was more confused. How could Tony Stark possibly have a pleasant conversation with someone who was already dead?
They exchanged glances, each seeing the same flicker of puzzlement in the others' eyes.
Of course, the older participants knew that Stark had traveled back in time to steal the Tesseract, but even then, Howard was dead!
"You all noticed it too, right? The Howard Stark option… something feels off about it," Thor spoke first, addressing the group.
"Definitely weird. No, 'bizarre' is a more accurate word. We all know Howard Stark is gone—Tony Stark couldn't have met him," Scott Lang added.
"There's nothing strange about it," Tony Stark said confidently.
"We all know, after Thanos snapped, we went back in time to collect the six Infinity Stones. If I went to my father's time, wouldn't I be able to meet him?"
"Wait, did I hear that right? Back in time?" Scott Lang's eyes went wide in disbelief.
A scenario straight out of a sci-fi movie was actually happening? Even T'Challa's face reflected his surprise.
"If that's the case, it is indeed possible," Captain America said, ignoring Scott and continuing his analysis.
"But we can't be sure you actually went to that time," he added.
"That's where our analysis comes in," Strange chimed in.
With that, everyone started turning over the possibilities in their minds.
"All the intel about Stark going back to steal the Tesseract has been shared. From our preliminary judgment, the time he went back was during the Battle of New York," Captain America began.
This time point had been discussed and agreed upon by everyone.
According to their intelligence, Loki's arrival on Earth only concerned the Battle of New York and Odin's search. Plus, the Avengers present at the battle, Loki being captured, and the Tesseract being there—all the pieces fit.
The spatial portal during the Battle of New York opened atop Stark Tower.
The Tesseract theft also happened in Stark Tower.
Putting these pieces together, the only time point they could be sure of was the Battle of New York.
"This is the only time we can confirm. Whether Stark went to other times to steal the Tesseract again, we don't know," Captain America continued.
"But…" he paused for emphasis, "I believe it's very possible."
"Exactly. And the possibility is quite high," Tony Stark nodded.
"The Stark Tower mission failed. Loki got the Tesseract. That left us with two options: retrieve it from Loki or travel to another point in time where the Tesseract existed."
"That's right—the two choices were clear at that time."
"Of course we'd go to another time! Who knows where Loki ran off to?" Thor said matter-of-factly.
"The Tesseract can open portals. Loki could theoretically appear anywhere. Finding him is nearly impossible."
"Even if Stark spent massive resources tracking Loki, don't forget—he had the Tesseract! Loki could escape again at any moment."
"Exactly. I think Stark wouldn't waste time chasing Loki. He'd travel to another time instead," Captain America said seriously.
After discussion, they all agreed: Tony Stark had indeed performed a second time jump.
Given the means to time travel, pursuing Loki further would have been foolish.
"So… I likely did make a second jump," Tony said, nodding. "And after the Captain's plane went down in the ocean, my father found the Tesseract. At that moment, my father and the Tesseract were in the same place."
"Great!" T'Challa nodded. "So it's entirely possible Stark saw his father. No doubt there. The real question now is: who did Stark chat with during these two trips?"
Everyone's gaze shifted to the screen, reviewing the options.
"First, we need to be clear: Tony Stark had a critical mission. Why would he casually chat with anyone, let alone have a friendly conversation?"
Strange pointed out an important factor: "Even if these people were close to Stark, he wouldn't be so careless. This mission involved the fate of half the universe!"
Though Tony wasn't a trained agent, Earth was half-dead! Only by collecting all six Infinity Stones could they save the rest. Strange didn't believe Tony would joke around during such a mission.
"To chat, there must be a reason. Like Howard Stark—he's dead."
T'Challa analyzed: "Meeting a deceased parent… it's hard to stay calm. Talking with your father a bit more is understandable."
From this perspective, it was reasonable for Tony to chat briefly with his father, even during a crucial mission.
"Makes sense. But the same logic could apply to the other three options, right?" Scott Lang asked. "Tony went back in time—did the other three die in the future? Strange said all three are close to Tony, right?"
"If they died in Tony's original timeline, meeting them in the past and chatting a bit makes sense," Scott added.
The key question: did the three people close to Tony die in the future?
"Pepper and Rhodey were at the Endgame battle. Happy… I can't confirm," Tony recalled.
"So Pepper and Rhodey are ruled out?" Thor asked excitedly. "We just need to choose between Happy and Howard?"
"No, I think the answer is my father," Tony said after consideration.
"T'Challa's reasoning is valid, but we must consider another point. During the Battle of New York, two Tonys existed: me and past-Tony."
"Plus, the mission location was Stark Tower—it's his turf! I couldn't casually interact with anyone, especially people close to me, without risking exposure."
"But in my father's era? I wasn't born yet. Even if I chatted with him, my identity wouldn't be revealed."
"Looks like the most likely answer is Howard," Captain America concluded.
No one disagreed.
Of the four options, Pepper and Rhodey were easily eliminated.
In T'Challa's reasoning, Happy couldn't be confirmed—but in Tony's view, Happy could also be ruled out. Even if Happy had died, Tony wouldn't chat freely with him—it'd be too risky. Two Tonys existed simultaneously, and Happy knew Tony well. Any interaction could expose the secret.
"Exactly. The answer is my father," Tony said decisively.
Honestly, this question was simple enough to analyze.
[I choose C: Howard Stark!]
Tony confidently entered his answer on the screen.
[Correct!]
As expected, the answer was Howard Stark.
[Congratulations, contestant Tony Stark! Reward: Robot EVA!]
[Reward issued. Please check.]
Swish!
A sleek, softly glowing "egg" appeared before them.
Not exaggerating—it was literally an oval-shaped white object, smooth and seamless, with only a small display-like section at the top.
Unlike the typical Iron Man-style robot everyone expected.
"Robot? This is just an egg?" Scott Lang complained.
Tony remained calm. "Patience, Lang."
With that, the egg suddenly split into four parts: head, torso, and two arms—with fingers.
Nothing else, minimalist to the extreme. Even the "eyes" were just two dots on the display—adorable.
Curiously, without visible thrusters, the robot floated in midair.
"Anti-gravity tech?" T'Challa examined it in surprise.
Other than conceptual anti-gravity, he couldn't think of another explanation. Though not a scientist himself, his sister Shuri often explained these things to him.
"Great minds think alike," Tony said, impressed and glancing at T'Challa.
"This reward is truly a surprise!" Tony exclaimed, eyes shining with excitement.
If applied to his Iron Man armor, this tech could be a huge leap. Flight consumes enormous energy, and thruster-based agility is inherently limited. Anti-gravity would change everything.
Whoosh!
Eva floated in front of Tony, blinking her big eyes.
"Master!"
A cute girl-like voice greeted him.
"Sir is fine. A girl calling me master… feels weird," Tony said.
"Feeling like a pervert?" Scott Lang teased knowingly.
