Chapter 94 - Heading Home

"We should leave here. We can't let them watch us; it'll give them enough time to prepare against us," Alice suggested as she observed the medics tending to Naya.

"You're right... We should go," Caleb replied, pushing himself up.

He walked over to Naya, his shadow looming over her.

Naya looked up at him, took a deep breath, and tried to use her hands to support herself in an attempt to stand. Suddenly, before she could complete her movement, she felt a hand slide under her knees and another behind her neck.

"What are you doing?" she shouted in protest, but it was too late; she was already cradled in Caleb's arms like a child.

"I can walk myself; let me down," Naya insisted, kicking the air in an attempt to escape Caleb's grip.

"You were injured badly... Don't stress yourself anymore. I just need to get you home so you can rest." Caleb's voice was laced with worry as he continued to carry her, ignoring her protests.
