Ember watched as Vaness turned to a man by her right, her face contorted in rage. 'Why can't we hear what they are saying?' She questioned, but the man simply shook his head in response, at a loss himself.
If there was ever a lesson the Queen taught Ember, then it would be the art of allowing a cat to fall into its own trap.
Ember couldn't exactly control all the actions of her envoy. Which was why she pranced and waited behind-the-scenes for them to make a move which she would in turn use against them.
And finally one such move had been made. And it was now her turn to play the role of the skilled gambler.
She gripped the sword tighter while the wound on her fingers screamed in pain. "You were right, I am a coward." she said to Khaos who didn't mind that the both of them were now the center of attention amongst a hoard of men and women that would kill to know what they whispered amongst themselves.
