Chapter 131 - The 1st Ball: The Jewellery That Burns

At the entrance of the Ball Room were luxurious carriages, each housing elite guests eager to make their way into the sprawling structure of the Panther-Thorne that seemed to be the only building that glittered the most in the palace walls.

Ember had barely taken a step out of her carriage when Rose accosted her like she had been waiting for her presence all the while.

"My, my. My mighty sister finally graces us with her rare presence. If I didn't know any better I would think you are avoiding your family because we have contracted the plague!" The now sixteen year old girl grunted, stomping her feet against the marble floor like the child she was.

Any stranger would find it hard to tell that Ember was just two years older than her.

"Pleasure to meet you as well, Rose." Ember said disinterestedly, aware that she now held the eyes of all the nobles that lingered on the doorway.
