"Leave Ravaryn out of it?" Ember repeated just for good measure, "Master, it's unlike you to be so cautious."

"And it is unlike you to be so daring." He retorted, "And while I admire this part of you, I must remind you that there are certain matters you must exercise caution at. It is good that the half-burned prince did not recognize you so we better leave it at that."

Naturally, the fact that her Master was this cautious was enough to have her treading carefully. Yet she was so curious. But she was not one to show outright defiance so she bowed before him. "I shall listen to you, naturally."

Calyx who had left when they were speaking reentered the room, looking noticeably terse.

"What? Does Valeria BlueBlood still insist on seeing me?" She asked.

Calyx shook her head. "Surprisingly when I delivered to her your message that you won't be seeing her as you're unwell, she left."

"She left?" She repeated.

"Exactly. She just smiled and then left."
