Chapter 6 - " One Moment , Many Lossess "

Fifteen minutes later, the gate of another operation theater opens. A doctor steps out, and seeing him, everyone immediately stands up.

The doctor looks around and asks, "Who is with the patient inside?"

Jay, panicking, rushes toward the doctor.

"I—I'm her husband. Doctor, how is my wife Sanjana? Is she okay? Can I see her?"

The doctor looks at him seriously and asks, "Does your wife take drugs?"

Jay's expression shifts to disbelief and anger. He grabs the doctor's collar.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

Unnoticed, a reporter quietly clicks a photo of Jay holding the doctor's collar and secretly records their conversation. No one pays attention to him.

The doctor calmly says, "Sir, please let go of my collar. I'm not speaking nonsense. A high dose of drugs has been found in your wife's system. You're welcome to send her blood sample to any hospital—you'll get the same result."

Jay's grip loosens, and his hand slips from the doctor's collar.

The doctor continues, "Sir, because of the high drug dosage, your baby's life is in danger. If we don't perform the delivery immediately, we might lose both the mother and the child. On top of that, due to the accident, your wife has suffered severe internal and external bleeding. She's lost a lot of blood. We urgently need A+ blood."

Jay stumbles back, his legs barely able to support him. Abhay ji and Aman rush to hold him up. Gathering his strength, Jay straightens himself and walks back to the doctor.

"My blood group is O positive," he says.

"That's good news," the doctor replies. "Please come with me."

Jay walks swiftly beside the doctor. He undergoes a few tests, and soon after, a nurse hands the doctor the results.

The doctor looks at the report and says, "You can't donate blood."

"What? Why?" Jay asks, shocked.

The doctor explains, "Your blood contains alcohol molecules. You should know that blood can only be donated 12 hours after smoking and 24 to 48 hours after drinking. Giving this blood could be fatal for the patient. Please arrange the blood from somewhere else—time is running out, and the patient's condition is critical."

Jay rushes out of the room. Seeing him return so quickly, Aman runs to him, about to ask something, but Jay silences him with a gesture.

"Quick—arrange the blood," Jay says urgently.

Aman immediately calls someone for help. Shivani, overhearing the conversation, steps forward.

"Sir, my blood group is O positive. You can take my blood."

Abhay ji protests, "But dear, you're injured too. How will you donate blood? What if it affects you?"

"I'm fine, Papa. Nothing will happen to me," Shivani insists, managing to convince him.

Just then, a nurse rushes in. "Have you arranged the blood?" she asks. Aman nods. No one notices, but Jay keeps glaring at Shivani with fury in his eyes.

Shivani follows the nurse. After all tests come clear, her blood is drawn.

At the same time, the sound of a police siren is heard outside the hospital, followed closely by media vans. Soon, both police and reporters reach the first floor, but Jay's bodyguards stop the media near the operation theater.

Seeing the police, Aman approaches the inspector.

"What brings you here, Inspector?"

"We got a call from a hospital staff member regarding an accident case. I'm here to investigate."

Meanwhile, Shivani's blood has already been taken, and a nurse rushes it to the emergency ward. Shivani rests on a hospital bed, with cotton taped to her arm.

Jay, now composed but intense, walks up to the inspector.

"Who do you plan to question? The dead? Or the one inside, battling for her life in the operation theater?"

"I'm just doing my duty, sir. Please cooperate and let me do my job."

Jay raises his hand and gestures for the inspector to leave. Then, without saying a word, he strides toward the operation theater.

Suddenly, from the crowd of reporters, one shouts:

"Sir, why are you stopping the police from investigating? Are you afraid to let them do their job?"

Another reporter chimes in, "Don't you trust the Indian legal system?"

A third adds, "Or are you scared the truth about your wife's drug use will come out?"

Hearing that, Jay halts mid-step. His face turns red with rage. Without thinking, he spins around, storms toward the third reporter, and grabs him by the collar—beating him mercilessly.

The reporter's face turns completely red from the assault.

The moment the third reporter asked his question, Jai's steps came to a halt. His face flushed red with rage. Without a second thought, he turned back, stormed toward the reporter, grabbed his collar, and began beating him mercilessly. The reporter's face turned crimson from the blows.

The sudden outburst shocked Aman. He rushed to Jai's side, pulled him away from the reporter, and immediately ordered the bodyguards to throw all reporters out of the premises. Then he gently guided Jai to a nearby bench and made him sit down, trying to calm him.

Meanwhile, the media outside had already turned the entire incident into a breaking news story, with live telecasts airing every second of what had just unfolded.

At that moment, the door of the third operation theatre opened. A team of doctors stepped out. Seeing them, Jai and Aman quickly ran to them. Jai anxiously asked, "Doctor! How's my father? Is he alright?"

The doctor replied calmly, "Sir… your father is out of danger, but he has slipped into a coma. We cannot say when or if he'll regain consciousness."

Jai closed his eyes tightly, trying to control the storm brewing inside him. The doctor walked away, leaving silence behind.

Just then, Aman's phone rang. He stepped outside into the corridor to take the call. A man on the other end said urgently, "Hello, Aman Sir, have you seen the news?"

Aman responded, "No."

The man replied, "Sir, you need to check it immediately."

Without wasting a moment, Aman opened the news on his phone and watched the footage. His face tensed.

He called the man back and said sharply, "Listen, shut this news down right now. I don't care how much money it takes—just make sure it's off air. And remember, Jai sir should not find out about this at any cost." He hung up and immediately stepped out of the hospital to make another urgent call.

Shortly after, Jai's father was shifted to a private ward. Jai walked in slowly, sat by his bedside, and held his father's hand. Tears streamed down his face as he wept silently.

"Dad… do you know…" Jai began to speak in a broken voice, but his pain rendered him silent.

Elsewhere, Jai paced nervously outside Sanjana's ward, his eyes fixed on the red light above the OT door. Suddenly, a door opened. Shivani stepped out, and seeing her, Abhay ji rushed to her side. He gently held her shoulder and led her to a bench to sit down.

Jai heard the door open and instinctively turned. His eyes landed on Shivani, and a storm of anger surged through him. He glared at her with eyes full of fury. In his mind, he screamed—

"Because of you, my mother left me forever… my father is in a coma… and Sanjana, my love, my child… they're both fighting between life and death. If anything happens to either of them, Shivani, I swear I will not spare you. You'll pay for everything. Don't live under the illusion that donating blood was some kind of favor. All this happened because of you. If you hadn't been speeding, this accident wouldn't have happened. This is all your fault!"

His mind kept replaying these warnings over and over.

Nearly an hour later, the OT door opened again. The doctors stepped out, and the senior doctor approached Jai. One look at his pale face made Jai's heartbeat spike.

The doctor hesitated, then finally said, "I'm sorry, sir. We tried our best, but we couldn't save the baby. The child died in the womb."

Jai's legs buckled. He stumbled back against the wall, tears falling freely from his eyes. Abhay ji rushed forward to hold him, supporting him by the shoulders. "Pull yourself together, son," he said softly.

Jai gathered the last of his strength and asked in a trembling voice, "Doctor… how is Sanjana? Is she okay? Can I see her?"

The doctor nodded. "Yes, you may. But please don't talk too much—she just came out of surgery. Stress can be dangerous for her."

Jai nodded silently and rushed toward Sanjana's ward. Slowly, he opened the door. The moment she heard his footsteps, Sanjana opened her eyes. Tears rolled down her cheeks the moment she saw him. Jai rushed to her bedside, held her gently, and wiped her tears.

He whispered, "No, Sanjana… don't cry like this. Everything will be alright. You just need to get better soon."

Even as he tried to reassure her, tears rolled down from his own eyes, and his voice trembled.

Sanjana folded her hands weakly and whispered, "Jai… please… forgive me… I… I…"

Before she could complete her sentence, her breathing turned rapid. Jai panicked and shouted for the doctor, his voice echoing through the ward.
