Chapter 2 - [2] Uchiha Shisui

Seeing the three options in front of him, Yuhara fell into deep thought.

None of the three abilities came from the Naruto world, and two of them were from games he'd played in his previous life.

As for the third one… if he wasn't mistaken, it came from a world where someone could blow up a planet with a single punch?

Although their origins were strange, he had to admit—he really, really wanted all three of them.

There was no need to say much about Flight Technique. The ability to fly was incredibly rare in the Naruto world.

Chidori Secret Art seemed like a modified version of that electric mouse's skill. In this world, it had been reworked so that any thrown kunai would carry the full power of a Chidori.

More importantly, if he didn't have a lightning affinity, gaining this ability would automatically unlock it!

"That's amazing. Not only do I get a powerful jutsu, but I also get a chakra nature for free."

As for the last one—Glorious Evolution—it was clearly a passive skill. And despite Yuhara not going down the "mechanical ascension" route, it could actually enhance one of his abilities!

The condition was a bit demanding: he had to kill enemies and collect power fragments. But the effect was just too powerful to ignore.

It meant that if Yuhara currently had a three-tomoe Sharingan, he could use this skill to evolve it into a Mangekyō!

"Is this considered a freebie being handed to me?"

Though his mood was still terrible, rewards like these were at least somewhat acceptable.

If he could get the Mangekyō Sharingan, he'd finally have some means to protect himself within the clan.

Time was short, but for the sake of his own life, he had to fight for it. He absolutely refused to die in this cursed place!

『Skill acquired: Glorious Evolution』

『Activation Requirement: 100 power fragments required to activate』

『Power Fragments: Jonin – 25, Chunin – 20, Genin – 10, Normal enemies – 1 to 5 depending on strength』

『Friendly Reminder: Ninja rank does not equal ninja strength. Please work hard, Host.』

After Yuhara made his choice, the system panel appeared once again before his eyes. Seeing the detailed information made him feel relieved.

The specifics were clear, and that last reminder in particular lifted his spirits.

It was common knowledge that ninja rank didn't necessarily match actual strength. Naruto, for example, was still a Genin during the Fourth Great Ninja War.

Likewise, Uchiha Madara and Senju Hashirama were technically Jonin—proving how misleading those ranks could be. Associating rank with true ability was one of the biggest misconceptions.

In the ninja world, chakra reserves and control were often used to estimate a ninja's level, but it was only for reference.

If someone had chakra on par with a Jonin, then you needed to approach them with Jonin-level caution and tactics. That was the important part.

"If it was just about rank, this really would be a lot easier. Damn system—if you had activated earlier, I could've just joined the police force!"

Yuhara had been a mission ninja. Although his talent made him eligible for the police force, he had ultimately turned it down.

It was a move to protect his reputation. After all, the Konoha Police Force was infamous, and he really didn't want to be part of that mess.

Now, though, he felt a bit of regret. Because under the jurisdiction of the police force was a very important place: the Konoha prison.

The police force actually had considerable authority. But due to the Uchiha clan's own mistakes, its reputation had collapsed.

The Konoha leadership had used this to constantly strip the police force of power, but even so, the prison remained under their control.

Maybe that was on purpose—to make them look even worse. Over the years, Konoha had always operated this way.

"There's no way I can get into the prison through the police force now. Looks like I'll have to capture people myself."

Yuhara let out a helpless sigh. For the sake of his eyes, he figured it was best to just go out and hunt some enemies the old-fashioned way.

With that, he stood up and walked out the door, soon arriving on the village streets.

Time was tight. He had a lot to do, and he couldn't afford to waste any of it.

As he walked, he thought about who his first target should be.

Honestly, the ninja world was vast, but Jonin were rare. After all, they were strategic assets for their villages.

And they weren't easy to deal with. No capable Jonin was weak.

Still, one name did come to mind—Aoi Rokushō.

That guy had been in the same academy class as Yuhara, and he'd only been a Chunin while in Konoha. But after stealing the Sword of the Thunder God and defecting, he had somehow gained a Jonin position.

Taking him down shouldn't be too hard.

The real problem?

That bastard had fled to the Hidden Rain Village!

And what kind of place was that?

Even Jiraiya had died there. If Yuhara went now in his current weak state, wouldn't that just be suicide?

"This is such a pain…"

Rubbing his temples as he walked, Yuhara felt a massive headache coming on. Where the hell was he supposed to find four Jonin to farm?

"What's the matter, Yuhara?"

Suddenly, a voice called out from beside him, making his body tense up.

He silently cursed himself for being so lost in thought that he hadn't noticed someone approaching. If that had been an enemy, he might already be dead.

But when he turned and saw who it was, he let out a quiet breath and smiled faintly.

"It's you, Shisui. You're back?"

That's right—the person standing behind him was none other than Uchiha Shisui.

They had grown up together in the same class and had always shared a low-key rivalry. But over time, Yuhara found Shisui to be surprisingly easy to get along with.

Compared to Uchiha Itachi, Shisui was night and day.

Sure, Shisui was a little soft-hearted, and in the end he chose suicide under extreme pressure, but…

At least he hadn't blindly sided with either the village or the clan. His greatest wish had always been harmony between the two—not sacrificing one for the other.

As for Uchiha Itachi?

Yuhara couldn't stand him.

Not just because of what he did to the Uchiha, but also how he treated Sasuke. Everything about him screamed arrogance—like he thought he could control everything, even fate.

Yuhara had interacted with Itachi when they were younger. But once he voiced some of his opinions and ideals, Itachi had distanced himself completely.

Shisui, on the other hand, respected Yuhara's view that the clan and the village should stand together. That understanding had brought them closer.

Now that Yuhara had been forcibly bound to the Uchiha, with no hope of escape, his dislike for Itachi had only grown.

But Shisui?

He was someone worth investing in.

"His ideals aren't misguided… and he'll awaken the Mangekyō in the future. I need him on my side."
