Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

Steve heard what Brandon said and replied, "Alright, I won't argue with you. You go first."

Brandon then said to Larry, "Deputy commander, can we start now? Or do you want to rest a bit before we begin?"

Looking at how they acted, Larry finally understood—they were getting back at him for what happened before. The reason was simple—Rowan had already gone to challenge the leader of the Fourth Battalion.

Just like that, all the people who had spread rumors before were each challenged to spar by the three of them.

At first, everyone was confused. But after realizing who they were choosing to spar with, everyone understood what was going on.

Still, most people just watched and decided not to mess with them again in the future—they were too dangerous to provoke.

The rumor incident had blown up earlier. Rowan's wife had beaten up all the military wives by herself, then gave a good beating to all the officers and soldiers who were involved. Everyone got punished. And once Rowan and the others came back, they challenged everyone to spar again.

After everything was taken care of, Rowan went home. There was still a little troublemaker he hadn't dealt with yet.

As soon as he got home, he saw Sienna busy in the kitchen. Rowan walked over and said, "I brought food back. Come out and eat."

"Oh, okay. Honey, why didn't you come back at noon?"

"There was something at the camp that delayed me. Did you eat well at noon?"

"I ate. I waited a bit, but when you didn't come back, I ate by myself."

"Alright, that's fine. If I don't come back on time, just eat by yourself or go to the dining hall."

"Okay."

After eating and cleaning up the food containers, Rowan pulled Sienna to the living room, sat down with her, and held her in his arms. He asked, "Wife, are you hiding something from me?"

"Huh? No, what are you talking about?"

"Really nothing? Think carefully."

Hearing that, Sienna thought hard to see if she had hidden anything from Rowan. She realized that she hadn't. She had already told him that she used to be a robot.

After making sure, she looked serious and said, "Really nothing. I've told you everything."

Rowan saw how seriously she was thinking and expected her to say something. But that was all she said.

He didn't want to push her too much, so he asked directly, "Why didn't you tell me you were kidnapped?"

"Huh? Didn't I tell you already? I caught the bad guys."

Hearing that, Rowan stayed quiet. It was his fault for not asking in detail. She had told him the result, but he hadn't asked about what happened.

"Then why were you kidnapped? With your skills, that shouldn't have happened."

He knew his wife well. She wouldn't wait around to catch the whole group. She would usually take them down right away. So were those people really that strong?

"Oh, I was with Meilin and Teacher Yuxia. We had two little kids with us. I was worried I couldn't protect them if something happened, so I followed the kidnappers."

After hearing that, he understood and asked, "Then about the rumors. If someone bullied you, why didn't you tell me?"

"Oh, at first I didn't know. After I found out, I beat them all up. Honey, I did great, right?"

After hearing all this, Rowan didn't know what to say anymore. He said, "My wife is really amazing."

Sienna looked up and asked, "Honey, how did you find out?"

"Steve and Brandon told me today."

"Oh, oh."

"Wife, I want to tell you something."

"Okay, go ahead."

"In the future, if something like this happens again—if someone bullies you—you have to tell me right away. I will help you get justice. If I'm not home, tell me as soon as I come back, okay?"

"Okay, but I can get justice myself too. Rowan, if someone bullies you, you can tell me too. I'll beat them up for you. I will protect you."

"Also, if there's ever danger, I don't want you to take risks for other people. Only you are important to me. I don't care about anyone else."

"Okay, I understand. I was just thinking about your good friend's wife and child."

"Thank you for thinking about me, but Sienna, you are more important to me."

"Okay."

After talking with his wife, Rowan was ready to settle the matter. "Sienna, tell me, how should I punish you, hmm?"

"No punishment. You're the best husband."

"No, I think you didn't learn your lesson."

After he finished speaking, he carried her back to the room. Sienna's voice could still be heard from inside.

"Rowan, I think you're just using this as an excuse to take advantage of me."

The next morning, Rowan felt refreshed and went off to training. As soon as he got to the training ground, he was called to the captain's office.

"Captain, did something happen?"

Captain Yao laughed and scolded him, "What, can't I call you in if nothing's wrong?"

Rowan replied seriously, "It's training time."

"I called you here to talk. Let's stop talking about the previous matter. You and your wife each gave those people a beating. That's enough. The commander already punished them himself."

"Captain, what are you talking about? I didn't do anything. I came back and trained properly. I even sparred with the other soldiers yesterday because I was worried I'd lost my skills."

"I'm not talking nonsense with you. You know exactly what I mean."

"Captain, if there's nothing else, I'll go back to training."

Just as Rowan turned to leave, Captain Yao saw that he really planned to go and said, "Stop, I'm not finished talking. What's the rush?"

Rowan turned back and said, "Then speak, I'm listening."

"We want your wife to join the army. She said she would talk to you about it. What do you two think?"

"Captain, I know about it. I don't agree."

Hearing this, Yao Yun got anxious and said, "Sienna is so skilled. It would be a waste if she doesn't join the army. She's a special talent. She can beat up a whole group of well-trained soldiers easily. She's an excellent candidate. You can't be selfish. And she didn't say no before, which means she wanted to join. How can you stop her because of your own opinion?"

"Rowan, listen to me. Just because she's your wife doesn't mean you can hold back her future. She would be better than most of us in the army. Women can hold up half the sky. You need to raise your awareness. Serving the country is an honor."

Rowan didn't believe his wife had such a strong sense of honor. Right now, she could only think like a human, but she was a robot. Her existence was to protect people. She would do anything to protect, without any sense of patriotism. He didn't plan to teach her that kind of thinking either. He himself could dedicate his life to the country and face death without fear, but not his wife.

"Captain, don't say anything more. She can't join the army. You're a soldier yourself. You know what a soldier's life is like. Would you want your own wife to suffer like that? Even women in the art troupe, do they really have it easy? They just have it a little easier than others. And we're not like them."
