Chapter 37 - Chapter 36

Hearing this, Old Master Gong smiled and said, "If we were bad people, your husband wouldn't be able to beat those two, and neither would you. What are you going to do about it?"

Sienna glanced at him but didn't respond and lay down on the bed to sleep.

In the following days, they spent their time safely without encountering any troublemakers. They were about to arrive in the capital, and Sienna was happy, as she had been bored for the past few days.

Old Master Gong looked at them and said, "Do you have any plans when you arrive in the capital? Why don't you come with me?"

Upon hearing this, Rowan replied, "No need, Grandpa Gong. We plan to stay at a guest house, and we have other arrangements after that."

"No matter what your plans are, it won't affect staying at my place. Are you rejecting me, an old man? Don't want to keep me company?"

"No, it's just that we need to settle in, then meet some friends, and after that, we have to go to the military. We still need to buy some things and clean the house. We truly don't have time. We'll visit you when we have a break."

"Alright, you promised, so remember to bring the girl to see me."

"Okay."

After getting off the car, they saw Old Master Gong's car had already arrived. He looked at them and said, "Get in the car. I'll have them send you, and you are not allowed to refuse."

Just as they were about to feel awkward, they heard Felix's voice. "Old Rowan, Old Rowan, Sister-in-law."

Rowan smiled at Old Master Gong and said, "Grandpa Gong, our people have arrived. You can go back now. Thank you for your kindness."

Old Master Gong looked at the people coming to pick them up, smiled, and nodded. "Alright, we're leaving. Remember to visit my house."

"Okay."

Felix walked over and took the luggage from Rowan's hands. "Old Rowan, you finally arrived."

"What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be training at the military? How did you know we were coming today?"

"I haven't gone to the military yet. I just reported in. My brother's people are still being taken care of, and the higher-ups have been considerate, letting me wait until I find everyone before going."

"I didn't know. I came to try my luck. I knew you'd probably come early, and I was just anxious, but I didn't expect you to be here so many days ahead."

Upon hearing the reason, Rowan didn't say anything more. He followed Felix to the car, and after getting in, Rowan said, "Take us to the guest house."

"Guest house? Why go there? Just come to my house. Rest for one night, and I was hoping Sister-in-law would come see my brother."

"We'll clean up and then go with you to the hospital tomorrow."

"No need to be so troublesome." After saying that, Felix drove directly to his house.

When they arrived at the gate, they saw the soldiers on duty. Rowan rubbed his forehead. "Felix, do you think it's appropriate for us to go to your house like this? Doesn't it feel like we're just freeloading relatives?"

Felix chuckled. "It's fine, but you're right, it really does feel like we're freeloading relatives. Hahaha."

"Drive carefully. This is a family compound, and there are kids around."

They soon arrived at the house. Felix helped them with their luggage and handed Rowan the keys to the house.

Once inside, Felix led them to the empty room. "My grandpa hasn't returned yet. You can freshen up and settle in."

He left the room to give them some space. After a while, Rowan hesitated. It seemed like none of the things they brought were suitable as gifts.

He went out to ask, "Grandpa Felix still hasn't come back, right?"

"Not yet, it's still early."

"Okay, lend me your car keys, I want to drive."

"Oh, alright." He tossed the keys over. Rowan quickly went upstairs, called Sienna, and they left the house.

The two of them strolled around the supply store and bought a few things. Then they wandered off and ended up at the black market by accident. They saw some fruits, bought them quickly, and left.

Although Rowan wasn't in uniform, neither of them tried to hide. They hadn't planned to go there, but when they saw something they liked, they just bought it and left.

After that, they looked around a bit more and went back. They arrived at the same time as Grandpa Tang. Felix looked at the things they were carrying and frowned. "Why did you buy all this?"

Grandpa Tang also saw and said, "Rowan, Felix is right. Don't buy things next time. I understand since this is your first visit, but if it happens again, I won't let you in. It's just an old man living here. I don't need these things. If you have extra money, spend it on your wife instead."

"Okay, Grandpa Tang. You're right. It won't happen again," Rowan replied with a smile.

He knew being too polite could cause distance. They'd be seeing each other often from now on.

"This is your wife, huh? She's really pretty. You're a lucky guy."

"Yes, this is my wife. Her name is Sienna. Sienna, say hello to Grandpa Tang."

"Hello, Grandpa Tang."

"Not bad, not bad. She's pretty and well-behaved. She looks like a sweet girl. Sienna, if you meet a nice girl, introduce her to Felix. It's about time he gets married. I'm just an old man and don't know any young women. Help Grandpa Tang out, okay?"

"Ah, sure."

Seeing how gentle Sienna was, Tang Xu started to feel a bit annoyed at Felix. When would he finally get married and bring home a granddaughter-in-law? There were only three people left in their family now.

Just then, the housemaid came out. "Sir, Felix, the food is ready."

"Alright."

"Rowan, Sienna, let's go eat."

"Okay, Grandpa Tang."

After dinner, Tang Xu called Rowan and Felix into the study. Sienna went to her room to rest.

"Rowan, since you're now in the capital, I want to talk to you and Felix about the current situation. You two will still be partners, with Felix as your second-in-command."

"Got it, Grandpa Tang. Go ahead."

"There are three main factions right now..."

Tang Xu spoke for half an hour, explaining the general situation. Felix and Rowan nodded, showing they understood. Tang Xu continued, "The situation here is more tense than where you were before. You must be careful with your words and actions. One wrong move could bring disaster to your whole family."

"Understood."

"Rowan, watch the people your wife interacts with. Be careful of traps. Our family has enemies too. Their tricks are impossible to predict. Just stay cautious, and there shouldn't be big problems. I'll protect you both as best I can. You need to support each other if you want to go far."

"Understood. We get it."

"Then that's all. Go rest and get ready. I'll speed up the process of finding someone. You two will report to the unit together."

"Yes."

After their grandfather finished talking, Felix said, "Grandpa, tomorrow I'll take Rowan and Sienna to see my big brother. Sienna knows some medical skills, so she can check on him."
