"Aghh, whyyy?" He rubbed his head in pain and looked back. His lips twitched when he saw his mother holding another potato, ready to throw.
"Eh..." He didn't wait. He bolted toward the kitchen door and slammed it shut behind him.
Thud! The second potato smacked against the door with a loud thump, making him flinch.
Damien let out a shaky sigh, rubbing his chest. 'Where did Mother suddenly get this much strength?'
When he turned back toward the living room, his eyes widened. Lilian and Betty were sitting on the couch, both staring at him with blank faces.
He cleared his throat, straightened his posture as if nothing had happened, and walked upstairs in silence.
