Betty sat between the awakeners, arms crossed, eyes narrowing slightly.

She felt a tap on her shoulder and turned to the side.
"What are you thinking so deeply about?" Maria tilted her head curiously.
Seeing her curious expression, Betty shook her head and pointed toward Maria's right side.
"Nothing. But where's Hazel going? Wasn't she sitting beside you just now?"
"What?" Maria followed her finger—only to see Hazel walking away with a maniacal grin, cracking her knuckles.
Maria's eyes widened as she stood up. "I don't know… SISTER!"
"Don't shout," Betty said awkwardly as a few nearby awakeners turned to stare at them.
Hazel stopped when she heard Maria's voice, turning back with an innocent smile—no trace of that earlier grin.
