Chapter One:
The conference room echoed with applause as Lina Darwish, CEO of one of the top design empires in the Middle East, closed her presentation with her usual elegance and fire. She was everything people dreamed of becoming—wealthy, graceful, unshakably smart. But behind that confident smile was a heart quietly breaking.
Because yesterday, Lina sat in her doctor's office, clutching the results in silence.
"Lina," Dr. Hassan had said gently, "I'm afraid it's conclusive. You can't carry a child. The damage from the last surgery… it's irreversible."
She'd nodded, too exhausted to cry. Four marriages. Four broken promises of a family. And now, even hope was out of reach.

Across the city, Zayd Al-Mansour held his wife's hands in the golden light of morning.
"I still can't believe it," he whispered, eyes full of wonder. "We're having twins?"
Camilla, with her flawless curls and manicured nails, gave a tight smile. "Mm-hmm, a boy and a girl. Happy now?"
Zayd chuckled, pulling her into a hug. "More than happy. I can't wait to see you holding them… breastfeeding our little angels."
Her smile froze. "Breastfeeding? Zayd, I have a body to maintain, a brand to represent. You want me to get saggy and tired while you go to work?"
His expression dimmed. "Cam, they're our kids. I don't want them raised by nannies like I was."
"Well, I do. And I will have a full-time nanny. That's not up for debate."
Later that night, Camilla sat with the private nurse they'd hired for prenatal support.
"They'll ruin me," she muttered. "Stretch marks, sleepless nights. And for what? Some man's fantasy?"
The nurse hesitated. "There… are options. Private adoption is quick. And if he believes…"
Camilla's eyes narrowed. "Tell him they died. We'll make it tearful. He'll believe you."

Meanwhile, Lina scrolled through adoption profiles late into the night. Her house, grand and empty, echoed every heartbeat of loneliness. She paused on a pair of sleeping twins, just weeks old.
A boy and girl. Abandoned after birth. Healthy. Mixed ethnicity.
She closed her eyes and whispered, "You're mine already."
