[Three Days Later, Inside Flamel Castle]
"Link, Emily, are you ready?"
In front of the fireplace, Madam Flamel called out somewhat anxiously.
And not long after she spoke, Link and Emily's figures came out from their respective rooms.
Unlike the school uniforms they had worn when returning from Hogwarts, now the two of them were dressed in a pair of custom-made couple outfits in pure black, with a slight Gothic style.
This was Madam Flamel's idea.
Among them, Link was wearing a black leather jacket with black pants, and compared to Link, Emily's outfit was much more elaborate.
She not only wore a jet-black mid-length skirt with patterns more intricate than Link's, but also had on some jewelry originally belonging to Madam Flamel, as well as a pair of black silk gloves.
This not only made Emily look even more beautiful, but also added a hint of mystery.
Watching the two of them walking down the stone stairs hand-in-hand, Madam Flamel couldn't help but clap her hands and sigh:
"Truly a pair made in heaven! Don't you think so, Little Button?"
"O-Of course!"
As a house-elf, Little Button's aesthetic sense was different from humans, so he could only stammer and pretend to agree.
If it had been in the past, Madam Flamel would have certainly kicked him once.
But right now, her attention was clearly all on Link and Emily.
"Oh! I almost forgot!" Madam Flamel then pulled out a black bowtie from her pocket, stepped forward, and tied it onto the neck of Arkam, who was poking his head out from Link's pocket.
"That looks much better now!"
"Hiss hiss hiss!~" (Stop! You're choking me!) Arkam bared his fangs and said unhappily.
Unfortunately, after these three days of getting used to him, Madam Flamel was no longer afraid of his fierce look.
She slapped Arkam hard on the head and said, "Bad guy!"
Arkam was smacked straight back into Link's pocket and refused to come out again.
Seeing this, Link and Emily both burst out laughing.
"Stop laughing. Have you two prepared all your luggage?"
"Don't worry, Mom, it's all here."
Link patted the seamlessly extendable pocket on his waist as he replied.
On the other side, Emily also nodded.
"Then stop dawdling," Madam Flamel stepped aside and said, "You're about to be late!"
"Then goodbye, Aunt Leonie." Link and Emily each stepped forward and hugged Madam Flamel, saying:
"We'll bring you gifts, Mom!"
With that, Link and Emily smiled as they took a handful of Floo Powder and stepped into the fireplace.
Boom!
With a burst of green flames rising from the fireplace, the two of them disappeared into the fire.
And when they once again felt solid ground beneath their feet, they were already standing in an unfamiliar room.
This room wasn't very large. Its furniture and decorations didn't look very expensive, but the overall feeling was one of refinement.
What surprised Link was that the room even had Muggle appliances like a television, something very rarely seen in wizarding households.
However, upon recalling that Newt's wife, Tina, was a witch from America, Link felt at ease.
When it came to dealing with Muggle items, modern America was much more open than Britain.
"Oh~ You must be Link, right? And this young lady is?"
A slightly husky but still pleasant female voice suddenly came from not far away. Following the voice, Link looked over and saw an old lady wearing a shirt with sunflower patterns smiling at him.
Although this was their first time meeting, Link still recognized who she was, and quickly bowed in greeting, "Yes, it's an honor to meet you, Mrs. Scamander."
After saying that, Link looked toward Emily and said:
"This is my girlfriend, Emily Victoria."
Hearing Link refer to her as "girlfriend," Emily's mouth instantly curved into a grin she couldn't hold back.
But remembering they were guests, she quickly restrained her smile, gave a lady's curtsey, and said to Mrs. Scamander:
"Very pleased to meet you."
"Hehehe, what polite and well-mannered children."
Tina Scamander stroked the kneazle in her arms and said with a touch of melancholy:
"In comparison, the two in my house are just too rude. They clearly knew guests were coming but didn't come out to greet you."
Faced with Mrs. Scamander's complaints, Link and Emily could only give two dry laughs.
This kind of topic really wasn't something outsiders could jump into.
Fortunately, Mrs. Scamander didn't continue the topic, and after exchanging a few more polite words, she led them toward the basement.
"Newt and Rolf are both waiting for you down there. Oh right! There's also another old acquaintance of yours going with you this time."
"Old acquaintance?"
"You'll know when you see them."
Saying that, Mrs. Scamander smiled mysteriously and then opened the door to the basement.
The next moment, a place resembling the ecosystem area inside the black-gold magical beast appeared before Link's eyes.
"Newt, your guests are here!"
Mrs. Scamander called out loudly, and not long after, Newt in his dressing gown came trotting to the entrance, waving with a smiling face:
"Link, you finally came! Come on in."
Hearing Newt's call, Link politely looked toward Mrs. Scamander. Seeing her nod and smile, he hurried into the basement.
"Whew! This is your little girlfriend? She's coming too? Well, that's fine! Come with me, I'll show you something great!"
Newt looked very anxious, waving his hand as he rushed off again.
Seeing this, Link and Emily quickly followed after him.
Then they saw, in front of a small wooden cabin surrounded by withered yellow leaves, a little boy in hunting clothes playing with a dog.
"Look, Link! That's a Forktail Hound, pay attention to its tail, it's forked!" Newt said, beaming.
"This kind of special dog bred by wizards is vicious toward Muggles, but they're good friends of wizards. Look how happily it's playing with Rolf!"
Hearing this, Link and Emily exchanged a glance, both with a strange expression on their faces.
Because, to be accurate, the current situation was that the Forktail Hound was playing with the little boy.
It had pounced on the boy, pinning him down and licking him wildly, and judging by the boy's desperate struggles, he clearly wasn't enjoying it.
"Um, Mr. Scamander," Emily said somewhat uneasily,
"maybe you should stop that dog. Your grandson looks like he's about to be licked to death."
"Uh, alright then. Woof woof woof!!"
Only then did Newt realize the problem.
As he ran forward, he even started barking, seemingly trying to communicate with the dog in its own language to make it let go.
But it didn't work at all. The Forktail Hound just licked even more enthusiastically.
This made Newt's face turn a bit awkward. He scratched his head, finally pulling out his wand.
But before he could take any further action, a ferocious mechanical prosthetic hand grabbed the Forktail Hound by the neck and lifted it entirely off the ground.
"Professor Kettleburn!" ×2
Seeing the owner of that mechanical hand, Link and Emily couldn't help but exclaim in shock.
