The clash began swiftly—and ended even faster.

From the moment Bai Yu landed silently aboard the pirate ship, chaos unfurled.

Within ten brutal minutes, the carnage concluded.

When the blood mist settled, Bai Yu stood alone amidst the sea of corpses.

The deck was slick with blood, and the air was heavy with the iron stench of death.

With a calm breath, Bai Yu exhaled and sheathed his blade, Sakuragi, its steel still humming from the slaughter.

Only pirates like the Kidd Pirates—ruthless and unrepentant—deserved no mercy.

Yet, there was one regret—their infamous captain, Eustass Kidd, was not among the fallen.

Even so, this battle gave Bai Yu deeper insight into the properties of Sakuragi.

The blade, which absorbed momentum with every kill, resonated subtly in his hand—growing sharper, hungrier.

Without delay, Bai Yu leapt into the air again, using Geppo (Moonwalk) to traverse the sky.

He landed lightly back aboard his warship.

"Full speed ahead," he ordered. "Set course for the Chambord Islands."

He gave no mention of the massacre. To him, it was a fleeting ripple in the sea.

Only the floating wreckage and the twisted bodies aboard the pirate ship told the silent tale of what occurred.

Moments after Bai Yu's warship drifted into the horizon, another vessel approached.

Its sail bore the crude, jagged insignia of the Kidd Pirates.

As the ship neared the bloodstained remains, a lone figure shot into the air and landed hard on the now-dead vessel.

His sharp eyes scanned the scene—taking in every drop of spilled blood.

Then he saw the corpse of Killer—his right-hand man, comrade, and brother-in-arms.

The man's fists clenched, veins bulging.

His breath came in heavy growls.

Then, raising his head, Eustass Kidd unleashed a thunderous roar:

  "Who did this?!"

"Who the hell killed my crew?!"

Had Bai Yu been present, he would've instantly recognized the figure by his red hair and mechanical arm—the infamous Supernova, Eustass 'Captain' Kidd.

Kidd's fury boiled over, his killing intent spreading like wildfire across the sea.

  "Don't let me find you…"

"Because when I do, I'll make sure you beg for death before it comes."

He stood trembling, rage flooding every nerve, his eyes burning with vengeance.

It was not just about vengeance for a crew—it was about Killer, the brother who followed him since the Grand Line's stormy start.

This moment planted the seed for a future clash.

Soon after discovering the truth, Kidd would rally allies, trigger conflicts across the New World, and wage open war against Bai Yu.

But that storm had yet to come.

---

Meanwhile, back on the warship, Bai Yu had no time for celebration.

Instead of requesting bounty confirmation or rest, he trained rigorously, honing his connection with Sakuragi through relentless drills.

As the sun dipped toward the horizon, painting the sea gold—

  "Major General Bai Yu!"

  A navy soldier saluted sharply.

  "We're approaching the Chambord Archipelago!"

Thanks to the swift towing by domesticated Sea Kings—a feat made possible by the rare Seastone restraints and Bai Yu's command—the journey had been smooth.

On the horizon, the magnificent sight of the Chambord Islands came into view.

A vast collection of 79 massive mangrove trees, each with its own numbered area, floated majestically over sea bubbles and glowing flora.

"Take us to Area 60," Bai Yu ordered firmly.

He knew the map of the island well:

  - Areas 1–29: Human trafficking markets and underworld auctions.

  - 30–39: Bubble parks and amusement zones.

  - 40–49: Tourist zones and souvenir markets.

  - 50–59: Shipwright zones and coating workshops.

  - 60–69: Marine bases and World Government stations.

  - 70–79: Hotel districts and leisure zones.

As a Marine, Bai Yu's vessel was granted dock space between Areas 60–69.

Besides, he had a goal—to coat his warship ahead of the inevitable dive under the Red Line into the New World.

  "Understood!"

The marine gave a crisp salute and resumed his post.

---

Soon, the ship was moored in Area 60, where uniformed personnel approached to handle docking procedures.

  "Major General Bai Yu,"

Kebi and Beru Meber hurried toward him.

"Maya's awake. She's still weak but asked to remain aboard for now."

  "Understood." Bai Yu nodded.

"Both of you, head to the regional supervisor. Inform them the 188th Branch has urgent orders and requests priority coating."

He handed Kebi a sealed authorization slip.

"If all goes well, begin the coating process today."

"What about you, sir?" Kebi asked.

Bai Yu's eyes scanned the lively district around them.

"Since it's my first time here…" he chuckled, "I'll take a stroll."

---

Stepping onto the roots of the massive mangroves, Bai Yu was impressed.

The Chambord Islands were a marvel. Even within the naval district, shops bustled, bubbles drifted, and uniforms from all over the world could be seen.

HQ Marines, World Government agents, even Cipher Pol operatives in disguise—all blended into the crowd.

As Bai Yu wandered, a cozy tavern caught his eye—its banner fluttering gently in the breeze.

  He stepped inside.

Instantly, the hum of conversation died down.

All eyes turned to the newcomer.

  "Who's that?"

"So young... is that a brigadier's coat?"

"Is he from HQ or just another noble's kid?"

Suspicion rippled through the room. Bai Yu, though a major general, still wore his old brigadier coat—his new uniform hadn't arrived.

The mix-up fed the room's gossip.

"Tch. Another brat with connections." a voice spat.

It came from a burly headquarters brigadier sitting at the central table.

  He stood, sneering.

"Oi, kid! Which branch are you from?"

  Bai Yu didn't reply.

He casually approached the bar, sat down, and ordered a local specialty wine made from mangrove sap.

  The officer's sneer deepened.

  "Hey! I'm talking to you!"

He stomped toward Bai Yu, chest puffed.

  But before he reached him—

  Bang!

  The tavern doors burst open.

A familiar voice echoed through the room:

"I'd stop right there, if I were you."

  Everyone turned.

In strode a man with a thick cigar, a long white coat, and a calm, dangerous aura.

Bai Yu turned as well—smiling faintly.

  "Smoker."

The G-5 Marine Branch colonel stepped in, locking eyes with the aggressor.

"He's not someone you want to pick a fight with," Smoker said, exhaling smoke slowly.

"Especially not if you like breathing through your mouth instead of your ribs."

A hush fell over the tavern.

The brigadier backed off, muttering curses under his breath.

But in the hearts of all present, one thought lingered:

Who exactly is Bai Yu… and how strong must he be to earn Smoker's respect?
