Chapter 1 - Introduction

The Kingdom of Yuansheng was a powerful and prosperous vassal state that flourished during the height of the Han Dynasty. Nestled between mountain ranges to the north and fertile river valleys to the south, Yuansheng was known for its vibrant culture, scholarly pursuits, and formidable military.

The kingdom's capital, Jingdu, was a marvel of ancient engineering—stone walls encircled the city, while jade-tiled palaces, sky-reaching pagodas, and bustling marketplaces testified to its wealth and sophistication. Jingdu served not only as the political center of Yuansheng but also as a hub of art, literature, and trade.

At the heart of the kingdom ruled King Han Wujin, a revered monarch known for his wisdom, ambition, and strong ties to the Han imperial court. He was a statesman who walked the fine line between independence and loyalty to the Han Emperor, ensuring Yuansheng retained a degree of autonomy while thriving under the larger umbrella of the empire.

Beside him stood Empress Lin Meiyun, famed for her intelligence, beauty, and political acumen. She was more than a consort—she was a strategist and patron of the arts, often advising her husband in matters of state and diplomacy. But she had a secret.

The golden sun cast its first light upon the grand city of Jingdu, illuminating the towering pagodas and the royal palace standing proudly at its heart. It was the era of the great Han Dynasty, where honor, loyalty, and duty shaped the lives of those who served the kingdom. Among them, none were more revered than the Jade Tigers—an elite brotherhood of warriors, chosen not just for their skill in combat but for their wisdom, beauty, and unwavering devotion to the king.

From across the land, seven young men of striking presence and exceptional talent had been summoned by royal decree. Each hailed from a different walk of life—some from noble bloodlines, others from humble origins, yet all bound by fate to serve their nation. Shen Hu, the composed and noble eldest, carried himself with a regal air. Wei Zhen, a man of few words, hid a sharp mind beneath his quiet demeanor. Han Yue with his infectious laughter, masked a past that still haunted him. Liang Feng, a scholar at heart, sought balance between wisdom and war. Zhao Rui, graceful yet lethal, held secrets that even he feared to confront. Meng Xue, with an untamed spirit, questioned the constraints of duty. And Jin Tao, the youngest, was driven by an insatiable hunger to prove himself.

But beneath the surface of their newfound brotherhood lay a secret that could shake the very foundation of the kingdom. One among them was the hidden prince, a royal heir whose existence had been concealed to protect him from the shadows of court intrigue. And another—his cousin—held his own ties to the throne, torn between loyalty and ambition. As they trained together, forging bonds of trust and rivalry, the weight of destiny pressed upon their shoulders.

Yet amidst the fierce battles and whispered conspiracies, something unexpected took root in each of their hearts—love. Whether by fate or by chance, each of the seven warriors found themselves drawn to someone who saw beyond their armor and into the souls they hid beneath.

As their hearts became entangled in forbidden romances and their loyalty to the throne was tested, they would have to decide—what was worth fighting for? The bonds of brotherhood? The fate of a kingdom? Or the love that could change everything?
