Chapter 2 - The Beginning. (REWRITTEN)

Lang Jin.

The rest of the school day was pretty normal, study some, sleep on the desk, eat some snacks, get chewed out by teachers for falling asleep, pretty standard stuff if you ask him.

After the hellish hours were over, Lang Jin stepped out of school taking a deep breath, before exhaling.

"One look at you, and people would think you just finished the hardest assignment." Sona cut in from behind, she was wearing a slight smile, clearly amused by the boy.

"...Souna, I really, really don't want to be rude, but please take the hint, the facial hair stays." Lang Jin's smile disappeared immediately, looking at her with narrowed eyes.

"Huh?" Sona let out a sound, before quickly coughing, "Ahem, fine I'll drop that subject, but I'm here to talk about something else." Sona spoke.

Lang Jin sighed, "Alright, I'm listening."

"What I'm here to talk about... is your aversion to a social life."

"That's..." Lang Jin started, raising an eyebrow at her. "...An interesting way to put it, but you're wrong, I don't dislike communication."

"Really now? Aside from me hounding you everyday ever since your transfer, name me one person you've talked to, or made friends with." Sona crossed her arms staring at him.

Lang Jin didn't even bother lying, or trying to act as if he was thinking, he just stared at her blankly.

"Jin, as The Student Council President, it's my duty to help students overcome their problems, and make their experience in Kuoh as memorable as possible. You don't have social anxiety, nor do you have problems communicating, which leads me to believe that you're perfectly capable of making friends, but you simply choose not to, It's fine if you don't want to tell me why. Try joining a club, and try to make some friends, it's worth the effort, trust me on that." Sona looked Lang Jin in the eye as she spoke, not once did she avert her gaze.

Jin closed his eyes for a brief moment before sighing and opening them again, his gaze noticeably softening ever so slightly. "I'll... try."

Sona breathed a sigh of relief, her words reached him.

"Good, now here's the part where I invite you to join The Student Council." Sona joked lightening the atmosphere.

Jin's eyes widened slightly in surprise, before he smiled slightly. "Sorry, but The Student Council is a bit much for me, and you're a bit too strict, see you tomorrow."

Lang Jin turned around and headed home.

"...That was a good look on you, Jin." Sona muttered to herself, with a smile looking at Jin's wide and muscular back for a brief moment, before she turned back and was about to go back inside the school but she bumped into her childhood friend, dubbed by the student populace as the most gorgeous girl in the academy.

"Greetings, Sona how's your day going?" Rias questioned with a smile, the kind that will fill your heart with warmth.

"So far so good, what about you?"

"Oh, nothing, just the usual." Rias responded, still smiling at her friend.

Sona raised an eyebrow, "What is it?"

"Nothing much, I overheard you were talking to Jin, so I got curious and stayed to listen." Rias folded under absolutely zero pressure.

"And you think that's okay?" Sona questioned narrowing her eyes.

"Probably not."

"..." Sona was left utterly speechless. Sometimes, she wondered if all the food went towards her chest, and none to her brain.

"So~ What was it that he said? 'Too strict'? Did our precious Student Council President... get turned down even before a date?" Rias leaned in closer with an innocent smile,

Sona sighed deeply, "If you're done messing around, I'm leaving. I've got work to do." She passed by Rias on her way to go back to the Student Council room.

Rias giggled before following her friend, "Jokes aside, what're your thoughts? Still think he's part of our world?"

Sona was very curious about this young man, and his possible connections to the supernatural world, when she observed him she sensed no fluctuation in his magic, which would normally mean that the other person wasn't involved in 'That side', and Sona thought that too.

However, she was very, and I mean very observant, always paying attention to every little detail, always keeping an eye on other students, she is the reason why there was no aggression between students, or any cases of bullying... except, Issei Hyoddou and his friends.

They were, lecherous students peeping on girls changing, and things like that. Normally, they would be expelled for their actions, if it wasn't for the girls doing the EXACT same thing, so if she expelled Hyoddou and his friends, she'd have to expel about 80% of the female students.

Sona was strict, some would call her stuck up, but she was fair, you wouldn't expect that when you heard the word devil, but there are exceptions.

Back to Sona's curiosity, well Lang Jin's rapid growth hadn't gone unnoticed, and that's why she suspected him on being part of the supernatural world, but she had no proof of that.

"I'm not sure..." Sona stopped in her tracks. "It's strange, Rias, very strange." She spoke, turning to her friend.

"Care to explain?" Rias questioned, all the playfulness from before was gone.

Sona sighed, "I've been observing him ever since he transferred here, at first it was just curiosity, but then... it turned into suspicion." Sona explained.

"As far as I know, he doesn't show anything that even suggests his knowledge of our world." Rias crossed her arms and leaned onto the wall, the school was mostly empty so it wasn't a problem for them to discuss such things openly.

"Right? That's what I thought too, but then I noticed his abnormal rate of growth, his height, his weight, muscle mass, and everything just... shot up, and as far as I know that kind of growth isn't possible for regular humans." Sona explained, before taking a breath.

Sona raised three fingers, "I've come to three separate conclusions. One, he isn't aware of the supernatural world, but notices his own abnormality, and for that reasons he's reluctant about making connections. Two, he's aware of our world and his own self, but doesn't want to be involved and wants a peaceful life. Three, the most unlikely one is that he's a spy." Sona explained.

"I doubt that third one as well, he hasn't made contact with anyone nor has he pried into anything regarding us." Rias said confidently.

"Indeed... this is a headache." Sona rubbed her head.

Rias just chuckled, "Ever thought about, just questioning him?"

"Yes, I have. I'm just waiting for the right moment." Sona smirked.

"I see, do make sure to let me know when you confront him, I'm very curious about him as well."

"Why? Does this curiosity of yours, end with him being a part of your peerage?"

"Hmm… I'm not sure, if he's interesting enough, I'll throw in the offer." Rias said with a shrug.

"I see, Farewell Rias."

"Farewell."

The two separated and each went to their "base of operations." The student council room, and The Occult Research Club.

With Lang Jin.

As he walked the road to his house, he got sidetracked and wandered into a convenience store, bought a ton of snacks, he was quite rich. Not to sound like some arrogant rich kid, but his family was pretty well off so he didn't struggle with financial troubles, not like he bought expensive items or anything, he just liked to eat.

Lang Jin munched on chips as he went on his way, enjoying this flavor very much.

Chips never fail to amaze anyone, and Lang Jin isn't an exception.

He visited a local convenience store and bought quite a lot of snacks, mostly just beef jerky and chips sour cream flavored ones.

On his way he did notice something quite interesting.

A black-haired girl, confessing to a brown-haired boy, which was… as you guessed it, Hyoddou Issei, the most infamous kid at his school, and a black-haired girl with purple eyes on the bridge.

"Shit, Hyoddou I wasn't aware of your immaculate game..." Lang Jin smirked, looking at them for a few seconds, before going his way,

"Ouch!" Someone bumped into him, and he stopped immediately.

Looking down he saw a red-haired boy who looked very much like his classmate, Rias Gremory.

"Sorry about that, are you okay kid?" Lang Jin squatted down, while his face softened considerably.

"Excuse me, I wasn't watching where I was going I apologize for that!" The boy bowed deeply.

"You don't have to apologize, I was the one at fault for not looking where I was going. What's your name?"

"Milicas, Milicas Gremory." The boy responded, and Jin's eyes widened with recognition.

The kid in front, was the son of Sirzechs Lucifer, who was the leader of the devil faction, as well as one of the strongest beings in the entire world.

"I see, My name is Jin, Jin Lang." He introduced himself, before looking around. "Where are your parents?" He questioned.

"Oh, um-"

"Milicas!" A soft voice came from behind Jin, who got up and turned around to see who it was.

The person standing behind him, was a very handsome man seemed to be in his early 20's. He had shoulder length crimson hair and blue eyes, it was basically the male version of Rias.

The Devil, in the flesh.

"Dad!" Milicas jumped in his arms, laughing happily.

"Guess my help wasn't needed then." Lang Jing said, before taking a packet of chips out of his bag and handing it to Milicas, with shaky hands.

"Don't run off without your parents, next time." Jin said, before swiftly walking away, his arms still shaking.

Sirzechs just stared at the massive man wearing Kuoh's school uniform, suggesting that despite his appearance, he wasn't that old. He then chuckled mysteriously before turning around and going his way.
