## Chapter 260: Today's Delayed Update
Time began to flow backward, to one hour ago.
Third Bomb: Bites the Dust!
Domino City is a port city. Starting from Domino Pier, a wide river leading inland divides Domino City into two. The side where KaibaCorp headquarters is located is a relatively prosperous area known as "New City," while the part primarily consisting of residential areas and schools is called "Old City."
A large bridge connects the two areas, and Yugi stood by the bridge at this very moment.
Watching the KaibaCorp Airship depart, and noticing that many Duelists around had already chosen their opponents and were eagerly starting Duels, Yugi also looked at the Millennium Puzzle on his chest with a strong fighting spirit, saying to Yami Yugi within it:
"Yami Yugi, Battle City has begun. Let's work together!"
"Partner, I too believe that our combined strength can overcome anything."
Putting on his Duel Disk, Yugi switched control of his body to the more outgoing Yami Yugi. His gaze, like a hawk, scrutinized everyone who appeared before him, attempting to pick out strong opponents worthy of a Battle.
Just then, a sinister voice came from behind him: "Yugi... I found you!"
Turning to look at the speaker, Yugi immediately recognized his identity. After all, there was only one person he knew whose height was roughly the same as his own, and whose voice was inexplicably annoying: "Weevil?!"
The person who appeared and called out to Yugi was none other than Weevil, the former Champion of the Japan National Duel Monsters Selection Tournament, the "Insect" Duelist, who had torn up Yugi's (*Exodia the Forbidden One*) and lost a Duel to Hayato, subsequently being stripped of his Duel Monsters playing privileges.
At first, Yugi's expression was simply surprised, surprised that Weevil would appear in Battle City, a tournament he wasn't even eligible for. But as his gaze dropped and he noticed Weevil's current attire, his eyes suddenly became dangerous.
The reason was none other than the black cloak Weevil was wearing. The Eye of Udjat symbol on the cloak was identical to the decorations on the Rare Hunters' cloaks!
"Hmph, you figured it out? Hehehehe, that's right, I've joined the Rare Hunters." Weevil's face was full of smugness as he extended his hand from the cloak, revealing a Duel Disk. "By the looks of it, you seem a bit surprised?"
Yugi frowned deeply: "As a former national champion, Weevil, have you completely abandoned your dignity as a Duelist and chosen to join the Rare Hunters?"
The sinister smile on Weevil's face instantly froze, his expression turning terrifyingly grim, like the bottom of a wok that had cooked for decades without ever being cleaned. Clenching his fist, Weevil's emotions erupted, and he pointed a finger at Yugi:
"In the end, it's all because of you guys!"
"If it weren't for you, if it weren't for Hayato, how would I have fallen to this state! Do you think I *wanted* to join an organization like the Rare Hunters?!"
Weevil's eyes were filled with venom: "Ever since Duelist Kingdom, after being stripped of my Duel Monsters privileges, I became a rat scurrying across the street. Even a bunch of trash Duelists who aren't even fourth-rate dared to mock me!"
"The Rare Hunters are an international criminal organization, I know that much, but so what!" Weevil said, pulling out a Deck. "Degenerate or whatever, it doesn't matter at all. The Rare Hunters can give me back my power, let me become a top dog again, and give me a chance to get revenge on you!"
"First, Yugi, then that Hayato guy, and after that, Joey Wheeler. And that woman Téa, and Tristan Taylor. I'll take you all down, one by one!"
As he spoke, Weevil inserted his Deck into the slot of his Duel Disk. Yugi felt a considerable pressure wash over him.
*Weevil feels completely different from before!* Yami Yugi expressionlessly placed his Deck into his Duel Disk, likewise unfolding it.
Two Virtual Projection devices were launched and set up on either side of the Field, beginning to operate. A grid-like Field was constructed.
*Be careful, Yami Yugi. Even though Weevil's demeanor has changed, I have a premonition that he'll still use some underhanded tactics, just like before.*
The Trap-heavy Strategy Player, Yugi Muto, expressed his premonition to Yami Yugi. Yami Yugi silently nodded, indicating that he understood.
"The Battle City Rule is to wager Millennium Puzzle Cards and Rare Cards from your Deck." Weevil proudly displayed his Millennium Puzzle Card, as well as a Card with its back facing Yugi, then shuffled that Card into his Deck. "I'll use this Card to wager your most precious Card—that (*Dark Magician*)!"
Yugi could feel that the immense pressure emanating from Weevil was mostly coming from that unknown Card. That feeling made Yugi involuntarily recall a certain presence he had sensed from the direction of Domino Pier last night.
However, though similar in magnitude, Yugi compared them and felt that the quality of the pressure from the presence he'd sensed last night was even higher.
He did not know about Hayato and Marik's Duel at Domino Pier.
"Hmph, you want to take a cherished Card from me as revenge?" Yugi scoffed. "I'll be the one to shatter that fantasy!"

"The First Turn is mine, Draw!" Weevil seized the right to go first and drew a Card from his Deck.
Seeing the drawn Card, Weevil's face broke into a sinister smile: "First, I Summon (*Kwagar Hercules*) in Face-up Defense Position to the Field."
With a buzzing of wings, a humanoid Insect appeared on Weevil's Field. Even though its ATK was much higher than its DEF, Weevil Summoned it in Defense Position.

"Then, I Activate the Spell Card (*Time Capsule*)! This Card allows me to select one Card from my Deck and store it. In the Standby Phase of my second Turn after activation, that Card will be added to my Hand."
A (*Time Capsule*) appeared on Weevil's Field. As a Duel Monsters Card, the Effect of (*Time Capsule*) was the same as its real-world function: to store objects from the past and deliver them to the future. However, the (*Time Capsule*) in Duel Monsters was designed by Pegasus to resemble an Egyptian Pharaoh Mummy's Sarcophagus.
After the Sarcophagus opened, Weevil spread out his Deck, and with a quick glance, he had already chosen the Card he would place inside the (*Time Capsule*). Watching the Sarcophagus slowly close, encapsulating the Card and gently sinking into the ground, Yugi sensed that the Card just placed inside was the one Weevil had declared as the Stakes before the Duel.
"After that, I Set three Cards from my Hand. My Turn ends."

"Using a Defense strategy, does he intend to stall for two more Turns to get his hands on that Card he's relying on for a counterattack?" Yugi mused, drawing a Card. "My Turn, Draw!"
"I Activate the Spell Card (*Polymerization*)! From my Hand, I use (*Berfomet*) and (*Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts*) as Fusion Material. Come forth, (*Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast*)!"
A Vortex representing the (*Polymerization*) Card appeared on Yugi's Field. Yugi's two Hand Cards were sucked into it, and a two-headed, four-legged Demon Beast with wings on its back appeared on Yugi's Field.

The Battle City Rules differed slightly from those of Duelist Kingdom, but regarding Fusion, they maintained the Rule that "monsters from the Hand or Field can be used" and "Fusion Summoned monsters can Attack in the same Turn."
"I haven't performed a Normal Summon this Turn." Yugi said, drawing two Cards from his Hand. "I Normal Summon (*Queen's Knight*) in Attack Position, and then Equip the Equip Spell Card (*Meteor Stream*) to (*Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast*)!"
The elegantly poised (*Queen's Knight*) appeared, wielding a sword, and behind (*Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast*), an Equip Spell Card also appeared on the Field.
"The Effect of (*Meteor Stream*) is that when the equipped Monster attacks a Defense Position Monster, it can deal Piercing Damage, inflicting the difference between its ATK and the opponent's DEF as Damage." With that, Yugi waved his hand forward. "Enter my Battle Phase!"
"(*Chimera the Flying Mythical Beast*), Attack the Defense Position (*Kwagar Hercules*)!"
"Hmph, you don't actually think a mere Equip Spell Card can break through my Defense, do you, Yugi?" Weevil sneered, Activating his Set Card in the Back Row.
"Open Trap Card, Activate (*Elemental Absorb*)!"
On Weevil's Field, four transparent prisms suddenly rose and converged. At the same time, Weevil flipped the Card in his Hand, revealing it to Yugi.
"That Card is, (*Great Moth*)?!" Yugi recognized the Card in Weevil's Hand, the (*Great Moth*), which was Weevil's second strongest Ace Card during Duelist Kingdom.
Although it required several Turns to power up, which was quite foolish, its Battle power was indeed good. Not only did its ATK match that of (*Dragon Knight Gaia*), but it also had the ability to continuously lower the ATK of all opposing Monsters on the Field.
However, why was Weevil revealing this Card now? Yugi remembered that (*Great Moth*) had a Revival Restriction; it could only be Special Summoned by Cards like (*Monster Reborn*) after being successfully Special Summoned by the Effect of (*Larva Moth*).
