Chapter 24 - Two perspectives

The young man with the spherical object watched from afar. Konji's words struck him directly in the heart, and his legs trembled as if he wanted to intervene more in the situation.

Shas looked closely at Konji's hand. She noticed it trembling slightly, with veins horrifically bulging as if from a self-inflicted side effect. "His hand...!!!"

"No way... Konji is a top student at the university, so why...?"

Chenya, who had been silent, now had her eyes wide with extreme shock. She was about to rush to him without hesitation, but another young man, who had just run up, grabbed her hand. He pinned her against the wall and looked at her with a serious expression.

"Don't go... That officer is no ordinary person. If you go, you'll be the seventh casualty for sure..."

Chenya and Konji share the same bloodline. Her deep red eyes were like innocent tranquility masking a mystery, while Konji's were like a harbinger of doom a warm cunning as sharp as a sword ready to strike at any moment. They were distant relatives, not unlike a brother and sister who didn't know each other well.

"Wow... You're actually admitting it... I love that." The lone officer, who acted like a savage in his role of doing what shouldn't exist, had Konji's blade pressed against his neck, ready to slice at any moment.

The surrounding atmosphere mirrored the fate of the two... Everything was ready to shatter at the same time. He spoke to himself in his mind, and Konji spoke it out as his thought. "...Damn it.... If we stay like this, we'll all die for sure..."

His inner body was in turmoil as if cursed... It was more than just a power. His once-cunning face with a subtle smile was now bruised, and his vision was growing blurry and dim. Everything was silent. The many people who were there had fled to hide in their homes in fear. The young man watched from above, afraid but desperate to know what was happening, and there were others in the alley only them. Everything was shrouded in silence... The once-bustling crowds had fled to hide behind doors in fear. A young man watched from a height, trembling but still wanting to know what was happening, and in that alley... there were others too.

"Hey... Hey... Hey!!... No way, is that guy really a top student? Why is he in such a state?" The young man held a mysterious sphere in his hand and stared at him in shock, his eyes wide.

On the other side... The group of people acting as officers, or rather, savages, began to gather in a frenzy. Some were searching for clues, some were running around frantically... But a massive number of them were starting to head this way. Each one held a gun. Konji's sword was pressed against the enemy's neck... but the blade was trembling slightly, and the other person noticed the abnormality. In this tense situation, he should have shot him with the gun at his waist... but he stood still, doing nothing, amidst Konji's hazy state of mind.

The young man clutched the spherical object tightly in his hand. Enclass watched the situation from a distance, cautiously. The sphere looked like a treasure of high-tech technology or some kind of hidden mystical power. But then, it began to shake violently, almost slipping from his grasp. A small voice came from the sphere. "Target found within a 50-meter radius in all directions..."

As soon as the voice fell silent, a feeling like a lightning strike entered his body! All the information from the sphere flowed into his brain rapidly like a clairvoyant, including the targets' locations and even the invisible danger that was creeping in. Meanwhile, on the other side, Shas caught a glimpse of a strange reflection shining from a tall building in the distance. Even though it was just a flash, a peculiar feeling arose in her heart, slightly changing her expression... It wasn't just ordinary light; it was some kind of signal.

Enclass's feet scrambled wildly on the ground. He leaped into the narrow alley ahead without hesitation. Every step was full of an unstoppable force. He ran through the scattered garbage as if his life depended on it. His incredible speed came purely from instinct an instinct that told him to

"Run... run as fast as you can!"

The two of them remained still, but their eyes were full of stress and pressure. Death was just a fingertip away. Everything was communicated through a single glance. The officer lowered his gun slightly, aiming for Konji's stomach instead of his heart or brain. A bullet of doom was ready to pierce and spread its deadly poison into his body at any moment. At the same time, Konji had his blade at the other's neck, ready to strike in a split second, yet he stood still without acting. The eyes of both, ready to face death together, were filled with an indescribable feeling.

Hundreds, thousands of footsteps echoed through the area. They marched forward like an unstoppable army. The shadows of the crowd didn't look like living humans but rather like soulless puppets controlled only by ambition. In a short time, they had honed their skills to the highest level and were now ready to follow orders. The young man named Enclass held the glass sphere tightly in his hand before leaning down and whispering softly, "Slowly release the electrical current... understand?"

He scanned his surroundings frantically until his eyes landed on a large pond not far away. The look in his eyes, which had been full of despair, suddenly changed. It was a cunning and confident smile. Then he began to tense his hands and muscles throughout his body to the maximum limit.

"Aargh..." He gritted his teeth hard to suppress the power being drawn out. The water in the pond began to move slowly, but then, the glass sphere flew out of his pocket and helped him push the water in a strange way. Its power couldn't move the water much, but it still helped him without hesitation. Loud crash! A giant wall of water surged out violently. The ones who were running in fell to the ground, breaking their formation. Enclass quickly grabbed the glass sphere in his hand and said to it seriously, "Don't let any ordinary people get hurt..."

The sphere made a sound like a technological signal. It floated up and down strangely, but then Enclass ran back toward his friends who were trapped with that one officer, who seemed to be a danger beyond their capacity to handle. The sphere went to the other side where the large group of enemies had slipped and were about to get up. But that wasn't all. The sphere shot out and rolled onto the ground. One of them looked at it, and their face changed in shock. "...A bomb!!"

Suddenly, a sky-blue electrical energy shot out from the glass sphere rapidly. It ran along the wet road like a terrifying fiery snake... The intense electrical current shocked them, who were struggling desperately in the puddles. Everyone fell to the ground instantly amidst the electricity flowing all over the area. Only a few were able to escape and quickly ran away in another direction. After that, the glass sphere slowly floated back up before returning to Enclass, who was running the other way.

On the other side, a young man appeared on the building in a sleek, finely tailored black uniform. The blood-red stripe on his collar reflected the light in a chilling way. He stared at Konji and the officer below from a high angle. Suddenly, the young man in the officer's uniform slowly raised the barrel of his gun... It pointed directly at the face of his teammate, who was caught in a death-like situation that resembled a double-edged sword. Amidst the confusion and fear, he looked up from below without flinching. The corner of his mouth lifted slightly into a confident smile.

His cold, sharp eyes were full of a challenge, as if he was communicating,

"...Just do your duty..." And his confident demeanor, far exceeding the situation, made everything even more terrifying. Below, Shas caught a glimpse of the gun barrel reflecting the afternoon sun. Her expression changed. An intuition that arose in her heart and mind was her guide.

The gun, like a large steel pipe on his shoulder... His index finger pressed the trigger quickly. Without any thought or analysis, as the gun fired loudly, his body jerked slightly from the recoil. The sound of the gun was as loud as an exploding bomb. They were not even aware of it; it came so fast. The gun's report was like a detonating bomb. They didn't even realize what had happened. In the blink of an eye, when everything seemed to be over, a deafening roar came from within Shas's body.

Chenya and the young man standing nearby quickly turned to the source of the sound in shock... The roar was powerful and terrifying, like the voice of a demon escaped from the pits of hell. Their eyes widened with fear, and they could no longer think. Suddenly, Shas lunged into the middle of the road without thinking. Her body moved on its own as if she was no longer in control. A pink shadow resembling her, but a more blurry and mysterious image, slowly emerged from her body. The beautiful pink was like a beautiful flower in spring, and from that body came a terrifying roar. In an instant, the spirit, which was like her other self, lunged into the bullet that was about to take Konji's and their enemy's life at the same time. A loud explosion echoed in the air, followed by a thick curtain of smoke that covered the entire area in a fraction of a second. At that moment, Shas's body, standing below, was thrown violently into the wall as if hit by an invisible force. But in that instant, the young man quickly ran and caught her body just in time. It was as if her real body was inevitably affected by her spirit body...

"Shas...!!" A scream of shock came from Chenya's lips. Her eyes were wide with disbelief at what she saw. She didn't hesitate for a second... Her body lunged toward Shas quickly as if attracted by an invisible force. Her heart was pounding with fear and worry for her dear friend, who was lying motionless in the young man's arms.

The young man's eyes widened with extreme shock. He held her body up clumsily. His hands were frantic but precise... trying to feel her pulse at her wrist... and on her chest... right at her heart. Before he used his fingertips to touch her nose to see if she was still breathing... "...Oh my god, what is this... she is..."

Amidst the smoke that still covered the area, it took advantage of the ground shaking from Konji's sword falling to the ground to escape. Konji rushed toward them, who were standing behind him. The look in his eyes, which had been cold and cunning, suddenly changed shockingly, and he almost couldn't do anything. He stood still as if cursed when he saw Shas lying motionless and unconscious in front of him... Everything around him seemed to stop for a moment.

In the moment when her consciousness began to return, Shas slowly opened her eyes. Her eyes trembled with fear and confusion. She coughed slightly from the dust that still lingered in the air. Her body was still weak, but in the moment when everything was blurry, she tried her best to process what had happened... And what she saw after the image became clear was an even greater shock.

"...You're amazing. Thank you..." Konji smiled proudly. He stood and clapped for this girl with genuine admiration. His face was full of a gentle smile. But then, all of a sudden, Enclass ran up to them and stopped at a distance. He wasn't surprised by what happened, but he opened his eyes wide and stared at Konji with trembling eyes. He said to himself that it was as if his eyes saw Konji differently from how others saw him, as if he looked deep into this man and knew something hidden inside.
