MILIANI'S POV
"You're joking right? He's stalking you?" Layla asked in disbelief.
I still couldn't believe it.
"Layla at this point I don't even know. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it"
"Are you thinking of quitting?" She asked
"I can't quit. I thought about it, yes. But I received my first month's salary and realised why I wanted this job in the first place. I need to take care of mom"
"How is she?"
"Well I paid for her medication yesterday. She says she feels a little bit better. I'll endure whatever is going on for her sake."
She sighed.
"She wouldn't want to see you like this"
"She isn't going to, and I won't tell her. Neither will you. If I work there for 5-7 months I'll raise enough money to pay off the debt and even relocate. So I just have to endure"
She pulled me In for a hug.
"I'm always here for you, you know that right?"
"I know, thank you Layla," I said as I hugged her back.

As I walked into the office I didn't know what to expect from Declan. He was so unpredictable. What would he do this time? Tell me to clean the entire office? Or go buy him ice cream from the mall?
A bit extreme don't you think?
Well no, he was capable of anything at this point. I really wanted to know If he was at the cinema and how he knew I was there.
"Good morning Miliani" He said with a smile as I walked into the office.
What? He never called me by that name and did he just smile as well? Strange
"G-good morning Declan" I said and went to my seat to sit down.
Two hours passed and he didn't say anything. The silence was killing me. I texted Andrew to try and kill some time since there wasn't any work going on. He replied almost immediately and we talked for almost an hour. He always had his little way of making me smile or blush and I found it cute.
"Peters, I need your help with something please" Declan called out to me
Please? That was new
Like the devil he was, he ruined the moment. I put my phone down and stood up to meet him.
"I need these files sorted and delivered to the production team before 1pm. Did you schedule my meeting with our suppliers?"
"Yes, I did. The meeting is by 3pm and the insisted it be in their company"
"Those people.. Alright then. Thank you. You should go get some food for yourself" He said as he continued the work on his laptop.
No snarky remark? No errand? This was strange.
I sorted out the files and delivered them. I was meant to go to the meeting with him so I got something to eat first. Andrew had insisted on following me to the restaurant to get food. While there I spotted one of Declan's bodyguards.
Wtf? Was he actually stalking me?
I brushed it off. The bodyguard was probably there to get food. I still felt uneasy because I could feel him watching my every move. I looked in his direction and he was gone.
Wtf was happening?
I needed to confront Declan about this. But how?
Oh hi Declan, I have this weird feeling that you're stalking me and I want to know why.
Clever.
I couldn't say anything yet till I actually had proof. After getting food I went back to the office with Andrew. He walked me to my office door and as he was about to hug me Declan opened the door. There was this eerie silence that followed after.
Declan stared at Andrew menacingly.
"Good afternoon sir" Andrew said
"Good afternoon." He replied coldly and turned to me "Go inside and get your bag, we're going to meet the suppliers for the meeting."
"It's not even time yet, it's just 2pm" I said in confusion.
"What did I say about questioning me?" He said raising his voice "Go inside and get your bag, I'll be waiting in the car" He said and turned to Andrew "Shouldn't you be in your office working?"
"I.. uh, yes. I'll go now, bye Milly" He said and left hurriedly
Declan left immediately after and I was so angry.
He was my boss but he had no right to raise his voice at me like that. Who did he think he was anyways?
I joined him in the car and the driver took us to the supplier's company for the meeting. I still didn't understand why we were leaving an hour early when the company was a 10 minutes drive away. When we got there we had to stay in the car and wait. I wanted nothing more than to just get out of the car. I didn't mind standing outside, I just wanted to be far away from him.
"You're seriously not going to say a word to me?" He asked and I just stared at him in annoyance. I didn't want to say anything to him because I didn't want to be rude or say anything that could jeopardize my job.
Doing this for mom. Doing this for mom
That had become my mantra for quite a while now. He wasn't pleased with my silence.
"Answer me when I speak to you, Peters" He said coldly and that just angered me more.
I got out of the car and walked into the building. I'd just sit in the waiting area till it was time to leave. I could hear him calling my name behind me but I couldn't care less.
Before I could enter the building I felt strong arms hold me back and pull me in. It was Declan. I looked up at him and the whole world around me came to a stand still. I couldn't hear or see anything else but him. I stared into those icy-grey eyes like my life depended on it, like it held the key to my unlocked mysteries, they were magical.
He brought me closer to himself so we were just inches apart. I didn't even mind the closeness, I was already lost in his eyes.
He leaned into my ear to whisper.
"Don't ever ignore me like that again, Peters"
This cocky bastard.
