Chapter 11 - CHAPTER ELEVEN

DECLAN'S POV

I was packing my stuff up when it was time to close for the day. I sensed her eyes on me. I liked it. After a few minutes she walked over to my desk and stood there staring at me. I waited for her to say something, it felt like she wanted to speak but the words couldn't come out the right way. I looked up at her.

"Peters if you look any longer you'll bore holes into my body," I said sarcastically.

"I.. uhm" She found it even harder to say anything.

"Do you have anything to say," I crossed my arms and a smirk appeared on my face. "Or do you just enjoy looking at me"

She rolled her eyes. Feisty

She let out a deep sigh "I wanted to request something and I just didn't know how to say it"

A request? I was intrigued

"Alright, continue"

"Well for the past two weeks I've been working extra long hours at the office. For example, today. This is already 7pm and work closes by 4 or 5pm"

"Yes, there's so much that needs to be done, you know with the company launching a new product next week."

Where was she going with this?

"I'm aware sir-, I mean Declan"

"So? What's the request, Peters?"

"I want a day off. I think I deserve one"

"Think?" She actually did deserve one but a day off meant a day away from me and I didn't like the sound of that.

"I..," I gulped "I know that I deserve one"

"Hm"

"If it's okay with you of course"

I went silent, I was having this internal debate about whether or not I should give her the day off. My mind kept telling me that she'd spend it with her little 'boyfriend' and that annoyed me a little. But she did deserve the day off, she already didn't like me much and not giving her this day off would make it worse.

"Alright"

"What?"

I looked up at her "I hate repeating myself, Peters"

"Sorry sir, I mean Declan"

"You'll have a day off tomorrow and resume immediately the day after. Got it?"

"Yes Declan, thank you" She said excitedly and left the office.

I watched her leave with mixed feelings.

What are you up to, Peters?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next morning I woke up feeling restless. I couldn't eat or drink anything. I got ready and got to work. Walking into the office and not seeing her there and not even expecting her to come to work was depressing. I knew I liked her but I didn't realize how much I loved her presence. My attempts to keep her with me at all times had started failing and I got scared a bit.

My insider had informed me that Andrew was not present at work, probably on his day off. But I was also informed that his days off were usually Wednesdays and not Thursdays.

That's fishy.

I had placed a tracker on Miliani's phone, for security reasons of course and she was still at home. My mind was at ease for a bit. I had to focus on the work I had at hand.

After a few hours she left her house and went to the cinema. I picked up my phone to call my bodyguard to go to the cinema but I changed my mind. I'd go myself. I wanted to see things for myself this time.

I called my driver and in less than ten minutes I was on my way to the cinema. I saw Andrew buying tickets and some popcorn and then walking over to Miliani. My jaws clenched and my eyes darkened. I hated seeing them together and seeing her laughing with him. I bought tickets as well and followed them from a safe distance. When we got into the cinema I sat in the top row to get a better view of them. I hardly even focused on the movie. I kept a close eye on them.

When she flinched during the gory parts of the movie he held her tightly.

Sometimes I wished I had Vampire powers and not Werewolf powers.

I could even see them cuddling and it made me more annoyed.

Should've just told Rocco to come here.

After the movie I followed them out and saw him getting snacks while she sat down and brought out her phone. I saw her texting someone, I looked closer and saw she was texting her cousin who was asking her about the date.

Amusement park? I see

I brought out my phone and texted her before she could drop her phone.

'How is your day off, Peters?'

I could see the confusion on her face.

'It's going well, thank you for asking'

'I'd be a bad boss if I didn't ask'

'Well enjoy the rest of your day. Also your dress is beautiful.. Really brings out your eyes. Hope you enjoyed the movie as much as I did' I went offline before she could text me back.

I could see her visibly panicking. I wanted her to see me but not yet. I got up and left to go outside. I felt like she had seen me walk out but wasn't sure if it was me or not.

I stood outside for a couple of minutes and then saw them coming outside, hand in hand.

Oh for pete's sake.

She turned and saw me and we locked eyes for a few seconds. I think she thought she was imagining things because she closed her eyes and started rubbing them. I quickly walked away before she could open them again.

I could see her shaking her head as if she was crazy.

I felt the urge to follow them to the amusement park but I decided against it. I called my driver and he took me straight home. I was a bit exhausted.

"Home so early master?" Marcus said as he welcomed me.

"I can see the office is no longer conducive as she's not around?" He said with a smile on his face.

"She went on a date, again." I sat down and took a sip of the wine that was on the table "She was all smiles and laughter because of him. She never smiles like that when she's around me"

"Have you considered being nicer?" He asked

"I am nice, what are you talking about Marcus" I questioned

"Master, it seems your definition of nice is different from hers." He replied.

I looked away and took another sip.

"Do you really like this girl?" He asked.

Of course I did. She was all I could ever think about, it felt like she had been imprinted in my brain since our first encounter that night.

"Marcus, like, is not the word to use. I feel this strong connection everytime I'm with her. And when she's not there it drives me mad. When I see her with that other guy I get even angrier."

"Then act like it." He paused and then continued "Be nicer, don't be the cocky boss, be calmer.

Act like it?

Well if he put it that way I've actually been very bitchy to her since she started working. I don't even know why.

"You're right Marcus. I'll try something different and see how it goes"

"Glad you're making progress, Master. I'll tell the maids to prepare some food for you to eat"

"Thank you, Marcus"

I stared at the ceiling for what felt like hours, reevaluating myself. If I wanted her I had to change. And I was willing to do that. There's nothing I wasn't willing to do for her at this point.

Oh my sweet Miliani. What have you done to me?
