Chapter 2 - 2: Complicated situation

" Mutant subject, you're surrounded! Surrender and surrender peacefully and we promise that you will be well treated! "

Looking through his bedroom window, Martin saw the hundreds of soldiers positioning themselves around the building where he lived and the 10 sentries brought by them.

Martin knew very well that he couldn't surrender. What that soldier said were only promises and Martin would end up in a laboratory being dissected if he gave in now.

But he also didn't have confidence in being able to face all the soldiers and sentinels alone. Of course, he could handle bullets and some missiles, but having to dodge laser beams while facing dozens of soldiers simultaneously was impossible for him.

So, with no choice, Martin decided to retire to the only place he felt safe, his own mind.

Closing his eyes and concentrating, Martin appeared in what should be a common living room of a simple house. This was his mental landscape, his home of his past life where his alternative personalities resided.

And speaking of them, they were all there, sitting at a dining table for 5 people with an empty chair, this being Martin's chair.

Martin sat in the chair and looked at each of his personalities. On his left, a 12/13-year-old boy with blond hair and blue eyes was sitting, being this Wisher.

Next to Wisher, a boy with blue hair and purple eyes with a ghostly pale skin, being this Mayuri.

On your right, there was basically a female version of you. A brunette girl with long black hair and brown eyes. That was Helena.

And on the other side of the table, a gray-skinned humanoid figure with red marks and long white hair that touched the floor was sitting and appeared to be 22/23 years old. This was Null.

Martin: I don't think I need to explain the current situation - He said letting out a sigh.

Wisher: In short, you're fucked.

Martin: Correction, we're fucked.

Mayuri: I still don't understand how this is our problem - He sneered with a smile.

Martin: Don't come to me with that now. Have you forgotten what's outside or are you just playing dumb? - He asked slightly irritated by the lack of concern.

Wisher: It's just a few men with weapons and a lot of shiny metal. Honestly, we've already faced worse than that.

Mayuri: True. Your concern about this subject is exaggerated. But if you're so scared, then why don't you lend me your body for a few moments? - He suggested with a mischievous smile.

Martin: No. From the last time you took over you kidnapped a 10-year-old girl to do I don't know what with her, it was a miracle that I assumed before you did something and Null erased her memories.

Mayuri: Do you know how rare German people with natural white hair are? I obviously had to study the DNA to understand this phenomenon - He defended.

Martin: Of course you didn't have your son of-

Helena: Hum Hum! - She pretended to cough to get the attention of others - Returning to the main subject, Martin. We've never faced a sentinel or something like that before, so being cautious would be best for us. You are overestimating the threat in front of us.

Wisher: Really Helena? You and Mayuri can easily turn those piles of metal into scrap in a second.

Helena: Talking is easy, but you could do it while trying to face the soldiers. As far as I know, apart from Martin and Null, no one here is bulletproof - He replied with a serious look.

A fact that is worth mentioning is when one of the personalities changes places with Martin, his body automatically turns into the body of that personality, regardless of what it is.

And also, when another personality takes over the body, she can only use her own powers and not those of others. For example, if Helena took over the body, then she could use her energy manipulation, but she would not have the superhuman attributes or resistance to Martin's telepathy.

The only exception to this rule was Martin himself, who could use the powers of others while in control, but only with the permission of others.

Before Wisher could answer, Null caught the attention of others with a sigh.

Null usually didn't talk much and almost no sound came out of his mouth, so he was sighing was just to get the attention of others.

Null: Someone is locating us - He said with his deep and cold voice.

Martin: Can you repeat?

Null: Someone is telepathically locating us. I felt it. It started when the soldiers surrounded this building and at that moment you must already have our location - He explained.

At that moment everyone began to look at each other thoughtfully, because they knew exactly who was approaching.

Professor Charles Xavier.

Martin knew who this man was, after all he was a reincarnated and a fan of marvel in his past life, his other personalities knew that and that's why they also knew.

And let's say that no one there liked Xavier very much. They knew he wasn't a bad man, but his reputation was for being the man who caused 2 of the 5 biggest catastrophes in Marvel.

Martin: Now the situation has become even more complicated - He complained, rubbing his forehead with his fingers.

Null: Really. The telepath may not even be bad and be a good-hearted man, but his philosophy and his habit of entering people's minds without permission can be a problem for us - He said, seeming not to have been shaken much.

Helena: Can be? He is a problem for us, staying with him will only harm us in the long run.

Wisher: True, that mansion explodes every month that passes, whether in comics or movies - He said in annoyance.

Mayuri: There are even some interesting mutants that I would like to study, but I probably couldn't with the damn telepath around - He cursed annoyed.

I don't think I need to say that everyone there hates telepaths. Why? Two reasons, one very obvious and another to explain later.

Martin: So I think we all agreed that we should go before Xavier arrives - He said crossing his arms.

Helena: Really. How long do we have Null?

Null: I would say about 45 minutes before he arrives.

Martin: If this were a normal circumstance this would be enough, but with the soldiers and the sentinels I don't know if we'll be able to escape in time.

Helena: What brings us back to the main subject of this conversation. Martin, I'll lend you my powers, but you'd better get out of this quickly.

Null: I can also lend you some of my powers, but I want you to be quick to escape - He said without changing his expression.

Wisher: I don't lend you anything, turn around.

Mayuri: I say the same as him.

Martin cast an ugly look at the other two before sighing and disappearing from the mental plane.

With that, the personalities continued to sit looking at each other.

Wisher: So, how long do you think it lasts before you faint? I'll give you 20 minutes.

Mayuri: I think about 15, I can't imagine him beating a sentinel - He mocked with a relaxed expression

Helena: Boys boys, have more faith. I'll give you 30 minutes - He bet taking away the serious expression he had a few minutes before.

Null: Realistically, it shouldn't last more than 5 minutes - He said with a small smile.

A habit they acquired over the years was to bet on how long Martin would last in a fight before fainting, which depending on the opponent's strength, happened with some frequency.

This was their favorite game, in which even Null participated, and everyone liked it.

Martin: I can still hear you!

- We know! - The alternative personalities answered in unison.
