Chapter 17 - The Rumble-Rumble Fruit!!!

The small wooden box nestled among the gold and jewels captured Yasa's complete attention.

Holding his breath, he approached like a pilgrim on a sacred journey, his calm demeanor vanishing without a trace, leaving only raw excitement in its wake.

As he drew closer, Yasa's trembling hands lifted the modest-sized wooden box as if cradling priceless treasure. He carefully wiped away years of accumulated dust with his sleeve.

The iron lock on the box had long since corroded away, leaving a gap that revealed a tantalizing glimpse of the treasure within.

Exhaling a pent-up breath, he slowly opened the treasure chest to reveal a blue, pineapple-shaped Devil Fruit resting quietly inside.

Yasa didn't know whether to laugh or cry. His handsome face twisted into an odd expression, hovering between tears and laughter.

Five years of planning, risking his life, and searching for a full year on Birka Island—finally, heaven had rewarded his persistence. He had found the Rumble-Rumble Fruit he'd longed for in his dreams.

He was certain this pineapple-shaped Devil Fruit was indeed the Rumble-Rumble Fruit. Natural-type fruits had a distinctive characteristic—they all had a pineapple shape, and the protruding patterns on their surface matched specific natural phenomena.

The fruit in his hand bore lightning-like patterns covering its entire surface. About the size of a palm, it was exquisitely crafted, evoking an urge to treasure and preserve it.

Huff! Huff! Huff!

Yasa's breathing grew labored as an overwhelming desire surged through every cell of his body.

He closed his eyes, pinched his nose, and methodically devoured the fruit piece by piece, leaving not a single morsel behind.

Though aware that consuming even a single bite of a Devil Fruit grants its power, he couldn't be certain whether eating the entire fruit would yield greater potency. Thus, he refused to waste a single bite.

Then...

"Guh... Gah..."

The moment the fruit entered his mouth, Yasa's body convulsed violently. Clutching his throat, he began retching uncontrollably.

"Damn it! This taste is beyond insane—it's practically inhuman!"

He couldn't help but curse. While aware Devil Fruits were notoriously foul-tasting, he'd never imagined it could be this unbearable.

No wonder even Luffy—a man with nerves of steel—had described it as "more disgusting than shit."

Yasa retched for three minutes, but his stomach felt empty, as if everything had already been digested. Unable to bring up even a drop of water, he could only force down the fresh water and food he carried to wash away the indescribable taste.

As his face returned to its normal color, he pressed a hand to his forehead. His body began to tremble, the shaking growing more violent. Slowly, the corners of his mouth began to curl upward.

"Hahahaha! Hahahahaha!"

Yasa burst into wild laughter, the sound spreading like a flood across the White White Sea. Nearby sea beasts fled as if facing a mortal enemy, scrambling to escape the area.

Blue arcs of electricity danced across his body. Gradually, the power filled the entire cabin, drawing the piles of gold and jewels to hop across the floor.

No one could hear the joy in his heart, so he released it through unrestrained laughter. As Yasa's mood gradually calmed, he extended his palm. With a thought, blue electricity gathered in his hand...

Zzzt! Zzzt! Zzzt!

The sharp crackling of electricity sounded like countless birds squawking in his ears. The dancing arcs continued to converge, forming a dazzling blue sphere of lightning in his palm.

With a forceful flick of his wrist, Yasa sent the thunderball flying through the wide-open wooden door.

Boom!!!

The deafening explosion shook the air, its shockwave making even the massive ship rock slightly.

Yasa emerged from the cabin, dispersing the steam that had rushed toward him.

Suddenly, his pupils contracted as he realized the true destructive power of his casual attack.

A crater over ten meters wide had been carved into the surface of the White White Sea. Through the hole, one could see the Island Cloud of Sky Island seven kilometers above.

In other words, Yasa's casually conjured thunderball had pierced through the Island Cloud at an altitude of ten thousand meters!

The cloud layer slowly flowed to repair the breach, gradually erasing the massive crater.

Though Island Clouds were ten to a hundred times softer than land—being a fusion of water and cloud that could easily sustain damage—their resilience still highlighted the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's extraordinary destructive potential!

Devil Fruits came in countless varieties, defying human imagination and encompassing nearly every imaginable ability. However, not all fruits could be eaten and immediately transformed into combat power.

Yasa's body, already extraordinarily strong, had immediately responded to the fruit's power. He'd known this would happen, but the actual effect proved far more monstrous than he'd anticipated.

Enel consumed the fruit and destroyed Birka. It's unclear how long it took to develop its power, but it likely didn't take too long. The Rumble-Rumble Fruit's ability is truly among the most powerful!

"Thunder God's Spear!"

Yasa's hands formed empty grips, electricity dancing between them. The energy slowly coalesced into shape, transforming into a two-meter-long lightning spear that he hurled toward the deck.

The spear flashed across the deck with unimaginable speed, striking the surface in an instant.

Boom!

Another explosion, though not as violent as the previous thunderball.

Now, a one-meter-wide hole marred the deck, charred black where the Thunder God's Spear had struck. The hole extended through several layers of the ship's hull, its tremendous penetration power piercing through the vessel. Below, seawater began seeping upward through the breach.

After testing the Rumble-Rumble Fruit's capabilities, Yasa finally managed to contain his excitement. He'd only just consumed the fruit, so he couldn't yet wield it at will. Still, he felt satisfied. Now it was time to see if his own abilities were sufficient to fully develop the fruit's true power.

"Lightning—Teleportation!"

Yasa's mind flickered. His body transformed into lightning, and in an instant, he passed from the deck into the cabin.

This massive ship hadn't been thoroughly looted yet. There might still be hidden treasures on board. Before it sank, he wanted to continue searching.

Yasa didn't care about gold or jewels. These were practically worthless on God's Island Apayado, where they existed in such abundance they could build his future ark—the "Thunder God."

What he sought were true treasures: rare weapons like legendary swords, or perhaps even a Devil Fruit...

Entering the cabin, he waved aside mountains of gold and jewels. A quick glance revealed nothing of interest. Yasa smiled nonchalantly.

With the Rumble-Rumble Fruit already in hand, what difference does it make if there's nothing else?

The ship had five decks. Yasa moved with lightning speed, taking only half an hour to search from top to bottom. His methods were simple and brutal—he blasted open doors and deck barriers with pure lightning.

When he found the ship's treasury, a casual glance suddenly lit up his eyes. He'd actually discovered something truly valuable.
