As punishment for accidentally causing a mess, Acidstorm was stuck cleaning out the vents under Shockwave's orders. He pouted and grumbled about the fact he was having to repair the holes of the vents. The vents were pitch-black and claustrophobic, reeking of garbage that stayed for months.
Acidstorm climbed down and muttered in frustration, "Why does Shockwave always make me clean up every little mess!? This is getting ridiculous."Acidstorm sighed, shifting uncomfortably in the cramped space. He turned to the corridors which carried a musty, odd scent that smelled like a vintage home.
Acidstorm was obviously very annoyed with Shockwave having to command him around. Acidstorm wasn't the most loyal of seekers but Starscream was definitely more traitorous . Even if they were both traitorous in different ways, Acidstorm wasn't the most fond of Starscream. That wretched little seeker always got on his nerves especially with his cocky, arrogant tone.
Acidstorm had to stop himself from seething at Starscream, who always got on his nerves. He had to stop himself from seething. That arrogant seeker loved to rile him up for entertainment, and Acidstorm was easily annoyed by it.
He sighed before walking across the hallway, feeling the heavy silence weigh down on him. While he did heavily dislike Starscream, the whole silence thing was starting to annoy Acidstorm to no end.
He soon walked through the central hallways of the Nemesis, until he bumped into someone and dropped the book he was carrying and was about to yell in annoyance "Watch where you're going!" he snapped, turning to see Rumble—the blue cassette bot. Acidstorm rolled his optics, he didn't exactly like Soundwave's cassettes, especially Rumble. Rumble was chaotic and destructive, while Acidstorm was more impulsive and aggressive.
"What do you want, Rumble?" Acidstorm asked, already irritated. He heard the mini cassette snicker—obviously up to something again. Rumble's voice carried a snarky tone as he said:
"Well Mr Soundwave wants you to come! Of course, you must be in trouble again." Rumble said snickering as Acidstorm looked unamused, looking like he was a second away from hitting some sense into Rumble.
"Whatever you say, you mini cassette." Acidstorm said mockingly. Rumble's optics twitched in annoyance as he snapped, 'What did you say!?
Acidstorm slightly smirked, finally annoying the small cassette bot that has been winding him up for so long before saying "We should get to Soundwave's office first." Rumble rolled his optics and nodded as they both walked together.
Soon they walked through the long silent corridor, there was a couple of lightbulbs dimly lighting up the corridor, the walls had cracks in them and Rumble swore he heard a couple of energon drops falling from the pipes. There was also a heavy, tense silence between Acidstorm and Rumble which was filled with disdain between them both.
Soon they knocked on Soundwave's door as Soundwave told them to come in. Acidstorm and Rumble came inside as Soundwave said "Greetings, Acidstorm and Rumble. I expected both of you here." Soundwave was at Megatron's desk since basically their leader disappeared.
Rumble had a small smirk on his face as Acidstorm looked slightly irritated at Rumble but ignored Rumble best as he could. Soon Acidstorm asked Soundwave "What is it, Soundwave?"
Soundwave took a long moment to think to himself before uneasily saying without much hesitation "Acidstorm we need you and Rumble to team up together. This is for an very important operation." Rumble looked a bit shocked and Acidstorm had an irritated expression on his face. So Acidstorm asked Soundwave as he was confused and annoyed:
"But why, Soundwave? Why do you need to put us together?" Acidstorm asked as he was utterly confused, he didn't like Rumble and Rumble kept winding him up. So Acidstorm was wondering what reason could Soundwave have to pair them up. Rumble had the same kinda confused expression on his face.
Soundwave replied to Acidstorm before handing out a paper with instructions on it "This is because your abilities work well together in this necessary mission. Acidstorm, your natural producing of acid along with Rumble's piledriver abilities is beneficial. Take a moment to read."
Acidstorm read the paper as it told them to go into a cave that was a close entrance to an power station. Then disconnect the cables of the tanks and collect the Energon inside. Acidstorm looked questioning whether this could could be useful. Rumble immediately soon replied, snarky as ever.
"Ha, it sounds simple. Why include us together but not in a solo mission?" Rumble asked with his usual snarky tone as Soundwave replied to him with unamusement "In case of any Autobots and Teletraan I detecting your signal along with Starscream being absent and Lord Megatron missing, I need you both to stay together."
Acidstorm and Rumble glared at each other before sighing with an annoyed expression "Alright. Fine." They walked out of the door and closed it, the whole atmosphere felt hard between them both as they both began bickering to each other.
Soundwave looked uneasy as he heard the bickering outside of his door. The fact that himself and Shockwave had to take control of the Nemesis while Megatron is missing, along with the fact that everyone is disorganized of late and Starscream has been more absent, was starting to make Soundwave feel quite exhausted.
He took a long glance at Megatron's office before taking a long moment of clarity to himself. He didn't know how to handle the pressure of leadership and responsibilities.
