Skywarp sat on a comfy, old couch in the Nemesis common room, overhearing a couple of Decepticons nearby. These days, it was unusually very quiet as he took a long moment to think, he was expecting for Megatron to complain or for Starscream to cause another ruckus. But no, there was no usual shenanigans going on.
The silence was actually starting to creep him out, he wasn't used to the passive vibe of the Nemesis. Usually it was very loud and chaotic but since Megatron is gone and Starscream has been disappearing more often, it didn't feel the same. Skywarp shifted on the couch, trying to get comfortable, as it was creaking harshly beneath him.
Skywarp took a long moment to look at the common room of the Nemesis as his wings relaxed. There were a couple of energon containers on the floor that had dirt and scratches on them, there was some energon cubes on tables, the walls had cracks and was rusty, the lightbulb was barely lighting the place up and overall it looked very disorganized and abandoned. He glanced up at the barely flickering lightbulb as it was starting to produce less electricity.
Skywarp got up as he stretched his arms as he walked to get his datapad and teleported out of the room and into the far hallways of the Nemesis. Even after leaving the room, the silence lingered, making the once-active ship feel eerily isolated. That was until he heard a couple of pedes coming towards his way and turned around curiously.
It was his brother Thundercracker and one of the seekers he hasn't seen that much, Gunwing. Gunwing, usually busy with air patrols alongside Nacelle and Blueheat, was a rare sight around here—making his presence a surprise.
Soon Gunwing turned around, surprised to see Skywarp here, not expecting Skywarp to suddenly appear out of nowhere but Thundercracker wasn't that surprised knowing that Skywarp can teleport. So Gunwing turned to Thundercracker and asked...
"I thought you told me he was in the main room. Isn't it kinda far from the entrance?" Gunwing asked Thundercracker with a hint of amazement in his velvety, medium-tone voice.
Thundercracker turned to Gunwing replying... "Skywarp has the ability to teleport, I forgot to tell you that when we finished our mission." Gunwing nodded before turning to Skywarp and asking him something important.
"Sorry if we are interrupting you Skywarp, but we need a favour, it's important, so please don't miss this." Gunwing said as Skywarp nodded with enthusiasm and excitement despite the underlying tension in the Nemesis.
"Sure, what is the favour, Gunwing?" Skywarp replied, trying to keep the atmosphere light as he nodded. Gunwing took a moment before saying...
"You know the power box in the main electrical room?" Gunwing asked as Skywarp nodded before Gunwing said "We need you to make sure that you do a couple of check ups on it throughout the week. It's been more faulty as of recently—more than it should be."
Skywarp nodded as he looked a bit surprised before exclaiming "Just leave it to me!" Skywarp said before teleporting as Gunwing stepped backwards in slight surprise, shifting his weight and wings as Thundercracker glanced, trying to gauge his reaction.
"Is he usually that excitable?" Gunwing asked Thundercracker as Thundercracker sighed, having dealt with Skywarp's antics multiple times turned to Gunwing and said "Unfortunately, Skywarp tends to be a mess. He is a prankster and sometimes he tends to get stuck in the most random spaces. Come, we'll discuss him when we get to the command control room."
Gunwing nodded before following after Thundercracker as he listened carefully to the older and more mature seeker. He just couldn't help but get a bad feeling about all of this... He looked back at the storage room with his unease starting to feel heavy before quickly catching up with Thundercracker's pace.
