Chapter 93 - Shadows in the dark

Prince Edmon could not digest the humiliation. That night, he had stormed his way to the center of Queen Melissa's quarters, fuming with rage.

Queen Melissa had just finished discussing part of the wedding plans with Adela, and the maids had sent her out when Edmon stormed in like a raging wolf.

Upon seeing him, Queen Melissa smiled, but Edmon did not buy it.

"The perfect plan," Edmon hissed, and threw himself on the sofa.

Queen Melissa turned to the guards, who walked out, slamming the door behind them.

"With this reaction, I take it you did not succeed," Edmon hissed again.

"One should never underestimate one's rival, and that is exactly what you did."

Me?" Edmon half-yelled.

"It was not my doing that led to the disgrace I've suffered this night, but the mistake of your people."

Queen Melissa's eyes narrowed.

"What do you mean by that?" she demanded, and Edmon swiftly stood up.
