The secret was indeed smoky but harbored no danger. By the time Kelly made it through, a line of rogues was at the front, ready to devour any intruders.
"I come in peace," Kelly spoke up before they could pounce on her.
Slowly, her hand dragged down the cloak. She didn't look like her usual self, all adorned in jewelry and the finest clothes. But then, her face was remarkable, and the rogues hissed but stepped aside as their leader marched forward.
"What brings you unsummoned, Luna?" Sunny asked, his voice cold and distant.
Kelly sighed heavily. "I need to speak to Damon," she requested, but Sunny did not budge, and neither did the other guards.
"I ask, you answer," Sunny snarled.
Kelly could see the hate within his gaze. They'd never liked each other, but Sunny hated her even more for trying to play a fast one on Damon on their first meeting. She was no fool.
