Kelly reached the pack house safe and sound, but she could tell at first glance that all was not well. The maids had drastically been reduced, and so were the guards. This was not her concern.
Quickly, she rushed to her bedroom, where she picked up a diary and made her way out through the back door. The elders were after her head, but there was no way she was letting them have it on a golden platter. The hidden part through the back door wasn't known by many. She ventured into the darkness with nothing but a fire torch lighting her way.
Kelly dared not let her mind wander; she dared not regret her actions.
"It was good while it lasted," she murmured to herself.
But most importantly, she cherished the friendship of Elias. The pink sapphire was the most treasured asset of the Blackthorn Pack. Her father had gotten it after a gruesome battle, and she had grown to cherish it.
