Chapter 24 - Smita's feeling

Smita: It was Aryan.

Rimpy Di: Aryan? I thought you weren't even friends with him anymore. Didn't you tell me to cut ties because Manav had some fallout with him? You even said Aryan had no character.

Smita: I was wrong about Aryan. He's a true friend. A genuine human being. Manav, on the other hand... he's a monster.

(Memories of the incident begin flooding in, and Smita breaks down in tears.)

Rimpy Di (in a serious tone): Smita, what happened? Did Manav do something to you?

Smita: Yes. He tried to... violate me.

Rimpy Di: What?! Smita, are you okay?

Smita: I'm okay now—because of Aryan. If it weren't for him, I don't know where I'd be.

Rimpy Di: What? Aryan helped you? When did all this happen? Tell me everything from the start.

Smita: It was three days ago... when you all were away in Bihara. Manav asked me to go for a long drive. I didn't suspect anything. We drove towards Udharbond with a few of his friends. But once we got there, his true intentions were revealed...

(Smita then narrates the entire incident—how Manav and his cronies tried to harm her, and how Aryan fought them off and saved her just in time.)

Rimpy Di: Thank God! It feels like the universe sent Aryan to protect you.

Smita: I believe that too.

Rimpy Di: Does your mother or anyone else in the family know about this?

Smita: No, I haven't told anyone. And please... don't tell them either.

Rimpy Di: Alright. But now, I really want to meet Aryan face-to-face.

Smita: I'll introduce you to him. But first... I need to apologize to Aryan for the way I treated him before.

Rimpy Di: Then don't wait. Call him now. Ask him to come to Silchar this evening and say sorry.

Smita: I think he just got home. I'll call him later.

Rimpy Di: No, call him now. Ask him to meet you this evening.

Smita: Alright.

(Smita dials Aryan's number. After a few rings…)

Ring... Ring... Ring...

(Aryan answers)

Aryan: Hello, Aryan speaking.

Smita: Hey Aryan...

Aryan: Smita? Is everything alright?

Smita: Yes, everything's fine.

Aryan: Then... why did you call?

(On the other end, Rimpy Di whispers to Smita...)

Rimpy Di: Why are you acting so shy?

Smita: I'm not shy!

Rimpy Di: Then go ahead and talk!

Smita: Fine.

(Smita takes a breath and speaks again)

Smita: Aryan, I wanted to talk about the incident... actually.

Aryan: You told your family, didn't you?

Smita: Just Rimpy Di. But... how did you know I was about to say that?

(Unknown to Aryan, Smita had the call on speaker, so Rimpy Di could listen. But Aryan, with his heightened awareness, sensed the conversation happening in the background.)

Aryan: What did your cousin think?

Smita: She's extremely grateful that you were there to protect me when I needed it most.

Smita: Actually, she really wants to meet you.

Smita: (blushing slightly) And... I do too.

Smita: Are you free this evening? Can we meet?

Aryan: Actually, I have my practice this evening.

Smita: (eagerly) Then... maybe tomorrow?

Aryan: I have a class tomorrow. And then I've got a meeting after that.

Smita: (disappointed) Oh... okay.

Aryan: If it's really important, come to Cachar Club tomorrow afternoon. My meeting's there. I'll have some time during lunch. We can talk then.

Smita: (brightening up) That works! Tomorrow afternoon it is!

(Aryan hangs up the call.)

(Then he immediately dials another number and speaks in a much firmer tone.)

Aryan: Mr. Jha. What's the status on the task I assigned you?

Jitendra Jha: It's nearly done, sir. I'll present the final report at tomorrow's meeting. But... are you sure about buying that building?

Aryan: Yes. Why do you ask? Is there an issue?

Jitendra Jha: No, no... the building's fine. But it houses a fashion mall.

Aryan: I know. But that mall needs to be cleared out.

Jitendra Jha: Understood, Mr. Aryan. I'll handle it.

(Aryan ends the call and returns to his training session.)

---

(Meanwhile...)

Rimpy Di: Smita, why were you acting so nervous on the call? You were blushing! And now you're excited to meet him?

Smita: No, it's not like that...

Rimpy Di: Don't lie to me. Do you... like Aryan?

Smita: I think... I'm falling in love with him.

Rimpy Di: Really? But do you know if he has feelings for you?

Smita: I don't know. He used to. But now... he's always so unreadable.

Rimpy Di: Then what's your plan? What will you do?

Smita: I haven't decided anything. I'll meet him for lunch. If things go well... maybe I'll tell him how I feel.

Rimpy Di: So you're planning to go alone?

Smita: No, Di. I want you with me.

---

As Aryan spends the day perfecting his moves... Smita spends her day wondering—What should she say? How should she act? What will happen when she finally sees Aryan?

What will happen when Smita meets Aryan at Cachar Club?

Will she be able to express her feelings?

And why is Aryan so determined to purchase the building near Cachar Club?
