The morning of the banquet arrived. The sun was not even up yet, but everyone at St. Marla's was already awake.
Today was the day.
The kitchen was a quiet, busy place. There was no talking, only the soft sounds of work. They were making the final Roll Cake Castles for the banquet. They had to make four big ones to feed all the people.
They used all the skills they had learned. Lysandra kept the ovens perfectly hot. Mira and Farrah decorated each cake like it was the only one. Jake made the shiny glaze. Everyone knew their job. They worked together like a real team of bakers.
Finally, the four huge, beautiful Roll Cake Castles were finished. They stood on the table, shining in the morning light. They looked too good to eat.
Just then, they heard the sound of horses outside.
The palace carriages had arrived.
The carriages were fancy and white. Serious-looking men stepped out. They carried special boxes just for the cakes. They were very, very careful.
