(Two chapters in one!)
To alleviate the images of millions of previous killings, Derick was not content with merely kissing Castorice. He intended to do more.
His palm slowly traced down Castorice's neck to her back...
Polyxia felt Derick's hand moving, and even though she was lost in the enchanting confusion of their kiss, it made her snap awake, subconsciously resisting.
"Uh, Castorice, you don't want to?"
Although Derick's emotions were in turmoil, sensing Castorice's resistance, he still stopped.
Feeling the apology in Derick's expression, Polyxia, instead, felt a little embarrassed, as if she had committed some heinous crime.
After a moment of careful thought, Polyxia took Derick's hand.
"No, I am willing."
She pulled Derick's hand, allowing him to continue.
Although Derick felt a little strange, Castorice's actions dispelled his odd feeling, allowing him to focus on the next actions. After all, compared to having killed Castorice over ten million times, her current strange behavior wasn't worth focusing on.
Derick continued to move his hands on Castorice's back, over her clothes.
Meanwhile, Polyxia's legs subtly wrapped around Derick's waist. Her frail feet beneath her stockings crossed together, her ten toes slightly curled inward from shyness. Polyxia's embarrassment at this moment turned her skin rosy, so much so that even the thin stockings couldn't conceal the change in her complexion.
---
Outside the bedroom, Cipher walked to the door, muttering to herself with some concern:
"I wonder how far Polyxia has gotten with comforting Derick."
As she spoke, she heard the sounds of Derick and Polyxia emanating from within the room.
Although Cipher had no practical experience in such matters, having spent over a thousand years as a thief, how could she not know what those sounds were?
Hearing the sounds from inside the room, Cipher couldn't help but widen her eyes, her face filled with shock.
"No way, you guys are moving too fast. Just comforting, and you've already gone all the way? It's understandable for Derick to make up for his 'mistake,' but what about you, Polyxia? Aren't you going to stop him at all?"
Cipher thought to herself.
"Are you just willing like that?!"
Cipher had just thought of shouting out in anger like that, but then she seemed to have a realization.
She, Polyxia, might indeed be that willing.
Normally, she kept a low profile. Apart from transforming into a giant dragon during battle, she was a quiet, unassuming presence. But even quiet presences have their own feelings.
Polyxia, too, could very well have fallen for Derick. After all, considering both the time spent together and his excellence, it was truly hard to find anyone more outstanding than Derick.
Previously, perhaps due to her relationship as Castorice's sister, Polyxia might have suppressed her feelings. But now, taking advantage of the opportunity to impersonate her sister, Polyxia might truly fulfill her long-held wish and have something good happen with Derick.
"If I had known there was such a good opportunity, I should have gone myself!"
Cipher thought with immense regret.
Polyxia's legs were taut, her insteps arched like a new moon.
With the timing missed, Cipher could only wait for the next opportunity. Meanwhile, she was even standing guard for them.
Listening to the sounds from inside, Cipher gnashed her teeth.
Feeling frustrated, she suddenly realized something, and a bad feeling washed over her.
She held the secret of Derick and General Feixiao, and Yunli, to threaten Derick. But now that Derick had such a relationship with Polyxia, it wouldn't be long before he'd have to confess to Castorice. Once he confessed, her secret wouldn't be useful anymore.
"No, I need to speed up my actions."
Cipher thought to herself.
She really wanted to push the door open right now and tell Derick:
"Derick, include me!"
But after thinking about it, Derick wasn't actually unconscious right now; if he saw her come in, he'd probably throw her out.
"Damn it!"
Cipher spat softly.
Hearing the sounds inside growing louder, she couldn't help but peek in.
Polyxia, Derick's not in the right state, go easy on him.
---
Solving problems was actually quite easy.
Derick now felt incredibly refreshed. He didn't know if the sweat on his body was from being startled while reading memories, or from the recent activity, but in any case, he felt incredibly comfortable.
Besides memories, the Flame-Reaver also brought substantial power enhancements. Derick felt he had gained the majority of the Flame-Reaver's strength, his own power advancing significantly, to the point where even a direct battle with Jingliu would have an unknown outcome.
It was very possible that he was now the strongest individual beneath the Emanators.
Witnessing himself harming Castorice over ten million times required intimate interaction with her to alleviate the pressure.
Wait! Castorice!
Derick instantly realized something was wrong.
Wasn't he in the Borisin headquarters? He and the Lofu Xianzhou were light-years apart. How could Castorice appear before him across such a vast distance?
Derick tremblingly looked at "Castorice" beside him.
At this moment, she had fallen into a deep sleep from exhaustion, her brows furrowed, but a satisfied smile played on her lips. As for looking further down, her state was even more chaotic.
"What in the world is going on?!"
Solving problems was easy, but creating them was even easier.
Who exactly was sleeping beside him?!
At first, he thought it was Jingliu disguised as Castorice. But then, he knew it couldn't be Jingliu. First, given Jingliu's strength, such an act would surely result in her throwing him off. Their relationship also wouldn't have reached this point.
Just considering her virginity, doing that would count as harming her, and Cipher's Titan disguise would probably immediately be dispelled.
The person beside him couldn't be Jingliu.
If not Jingliu, then the only other person capable of disguising herself as Castorice was one person.
Polyxia, why are you wearing Castorice's clothes?
Derick wondered to himself.
Seeing her like this, Derick didn't know how to react.
Whatever her reason for this disguise, at least he hadn't forced himself on her while in a confused state. With this thought, his guilt was significantly lessened.
Polyxia must have been willing.
With this thought, Derick felt it would be much easier to handle the situation.
Take responsibility, then. He had already come to terms with confessing when it came to Feixiao and Yunli. It was just that Derick hadn't had the chance to do so yet, but now with Polyxia added, he would simply confess everything.
After a short wait, Polyxia slowly woke up.
Seeing Derick's gaze fixed on her, she knew in her heart that Derick had discovered her identity.
This was understandable; she couldn't maintain her disguise while asleep, making it easy to be discovered.
"Polyxia, what exactly happened here?"
Derick asked her in a gentle tone.
Seeing the concern and responsibility in Derick's eyes, Polyxia was very happy. Derick clearly knew she had impersonated her sister to deceive him, yet he showed no intention of shirking responsibility.
If Derick were a scoundrel, he could easily go back and tell Castorice that Polyxia had disguised herself to deceive him. Castorice would likely not blame him.
But now, his gaze conveyed an attitude of taking full responsibility.
"Didn't you encounter this situation recently? To comfort you, Cipher told me to disguise myself as my sister..."
Polyxia clearly explained the entire situation.
And in the end, she boldly expressed her feelings.
"Derick, this was everything leading up to the final step. And when you did that final thing, I was fully aware and fully willing. I love you, and even though I know you're my sister's beloved, I've still irrevocably fallen for you. I want to be with you, not just as Castorice's sister. Will you?"
Derick sighed, then looked at Polyxia.
"Polyxia, will you call me brother-in-law?"
Hearing him say this, Polyxia's heart sank.
Was this still unacceptable? She was about to say something, but then she looked at Derick's expression, and her sadness instantly turned into speechlessness.
"Why are you so excited about me calling you 'brother-in-law'?"
Polyxia couldn't help but glance at Derick.
"Brother-in-law~"
Although she was rather speechless that Derick wanted her to call him 'brother-in-law,' seeing how excited he was, Polyxia still played along, mimicking the charming demeanor from the movies as she called out to him.
Polyxia could roughly guess what Derick was thinking. He'd have to confess to Castorice when they got back, and there was no telling what would happen then.
Having a little fun now was like a death row inmate's last meal before execution.
After a moment's thought, Polyxia changed her tone, speaking softly to Derick: "Brother-in-law Derick, about what happened between us, don't be in a rush to tell my sister. Let... let me be the one to tell her, okay?"
Derick was willing to take responsibility, but Polyxia knew that she was the one who had started all of this. She had fulfilled her own desire, only for Derick to take the fall in the end. Polyxia couldn't bring herself to do that.
"Actually..."
With a slightly guilty tone, Derick was about to confess that it wasn't just her, Polyxia, he had been with; before her, he had also been intimate with Feixiao and Yunli.
If he was going to confess, he wouldn't just confess about Polyxia; he had to tell her about the others as well.
Their conversation wasn't just for the two of them to hear. Cipher was still eavesdropping at the door. With her skills and abilities, she could conceal her presence so well that even Derick had a hard time detecting her.
Hearing Derick's words, Cipher instantly understood his intentions.
He was planning to confess his relationships with Feixiao and Yunli to Polyxia.
"No, how can that be!?"
She still had leverage on him, but the problem was, if too many people knew about it, the leverage would naturally cease to be leverage.
At this thought, Cipher immediately knocked on the door.
"Derry, how are you doing? Are you feeling better?"
Hearing Cipher knock, Derick naturally couldn't continue his confession to Polyxia. At the same time, to prevent their situation from being discovered, the two of them quickly tidied up.
Derick and Polyxia quickly got dressed, and Polyxia tossed the torn stockings to the side. Then,
Derick used his own energy to conjure a pair of stockings on Polyxia's legs.
As for the blood-stained bedsheet, Polyxia was definitely going to keep it as a memento. Derick and Polyxia exchanged a look, picked up the sheet, folded it neatly, and then placed it in the cabinet.
With Derick's skill, this entire process took less than a second to complete. After they finished, Derick went to the door, opened it, and met with Cipher.
Polyxia, however, was a little puzzled.
She and Derick had been intimate for two or three hours. Why was Cipher only returning now?
She was far too late.
"Cipher, I've recovered very well now," Derick said to Cipher.
"That's good." Cipher put on a happy expression on the surface.
But inwardly, she was constantly complaining:
You've been messing around for so long; it would be strange if you weren't well.
Still, seeing Derick's condition improve was ultimately a good thing. Cipher no longer had to worry about whether to send him back to the Lofu Xianzhou first.
Their conversation attracted the attention of Jingliu, who was disguised as Castorice.
Seeing that Derick looked back to normal, Jingliu showed a satisfied smile. Then, she noticed a change in Derick's aura, her face revealing a mix of surprise and delight.
Jingliu asked Derick: "Derick, has your strength improved even further?"
Although Derick was strong before, Jingliu knew she could defeat him. But now, as Derick stood there, she had no confidence she could win against him.
Jingliu felt a genuine sense of joy from this feeling.
This was exactly the feeling she wanted.
"Yes, my strength has improved quite a bit." Derick nodded.
His strength was what it was; there was nothing to hide.
"Then..." Jingliu's lips curled up, a hint of battlelust in her eyes.
An opponent whose strength was similar to her own, not an Emanator she couldn't beat, nor someone who was obviously weaker at a glance, was the most suitable for a sparring match.
Faced with Jingliu's idea, Derick shook his head.
"You're still in disguise right now. If we fought, you'd have to go all out, which would inevitably make those
Borisin suspicious. If they find out you're Jingliu, even if they don't come to fight, they'll choose to flee."
With Derick and Jingliu combined, they had some confidence they could defeat the entire Borisin race. But to say they could prevent them from escaping was pure fantasy.
In the end, they still had to wait for the main forces to converge.
"Hmph."
Jingliu nodded with regret.
Derick spoke to comfort her: "But it probably won't be more than a few days before we make our move against the Borisin. Just wait..."
Hearing Derick's words, Jingliu was finally satisfied.
However, watching her stroke her longsword, which could transform into a scythe, she thought to herself that when the time came, she would definitely let it drink its fill of Borisin blood.
"How much longer will it be?" Jingliu asked Derick.
"It shouldn't be too long. On one hand, it depends on the missionary work of the monk from the Danlun Temple. On the other hand, it depends on the
Xianzhou's military deployment. As it happens, now that we've arrived at the Borisin headquarters, it's time to contact my teacher and General Jing Yuan."
"Mhm." Jingliu nodded.
She had little interest in contacting her disciple and the others. She turned to leave, saying, "I'll keep a lookout for you."
After saying that, she walked off to one side.
Cipher, like Jingliu, had no interest in such matters. She glanced at Polyxia, then walked towards the other side.
"I'll go to the other side to keep watch for you."
Polyxia was also uninterested; she was going back to change her clothes.
She hadn't thought much of it before, but now she remembered she was still wearing Castorice's clothes. If General Feixiao and General Jing Yuan saw her during the communication with Derick, it would be far too embarrassing.
This left Derick all by himself.
He went into the room and opened the communication line.
The communicator had been disguised beforehand by Cipher using the power of the Titan of Trickery; it was completely unnoticeable under normal circumstances.
Even the signal was disguised, so it couldn't be traced.
Derick's communication went out, and Feixiao's voice quickly returned.
"Derick, we've finally made contact. How's the situation on your end? Have you reached the Borisin's main base?"
After Feixiao finished speaking, her image appeared on the screen. It wasn't just her image; it looked like Feixiao was in a joint command center. Besides her, the strategist Jiaoqiu was also there. General Jing Yuan of the Lofu Xianzhou, Master Diviner Fu Xuan of the Divination
Commission, and Helm Master Yukong of the Sky-Faring Commission were all present.
Seeing Derick's communication, everyone's gaze focused on him.
"I've reached the Borisin's main base." Derick nodded affirmatively. "And to welcome me, their new War Chief, all the surrounding planets are garrisoned with Borisin."
"Excellent! This way, we can wipe out all these Borisin in one fell swoop. From now on, the various civilizations of the universe will have one less major threat." Feixiao clapped her hands happily.
"Teacher, General Jing Yuan, how are the preparations on your side?"
Derick asked.
Jiaoqiu spoke from the side: "Naturally, everything is ready. The Luofu's Cloud Knights, the Yaoqing's Qingqiu Army, in total, we've deployed over one hundred million troops and tens of millions of starships. Once you confirm the target, we will begin to converge on your location.
The number of Borisin is tens of millions of times greater than the forces of the Xianzhou Alliance. But not all of these Borisin are warriors; many of them are logistics personnel, whose combat effectiveness is almost negligible. In terms of warriors, the number of Borisin fighters is about the same as the Xianzhou Alliance forces. The combat power of the rank-and-file soldiers is similar, but at the top-tier, the Xianzhou Alliance is winning by a landslide.
The only master among the Borisin was Hoolay, but Hoolay has already been dealt with. In the universe, what determines the upper limit of a race is not their rank-and-file, but their top-tier masters.
As long as they encircle the Borisin, the Xianzhou Alliance can guarantee they'll be wiped clean.
"I've confirmed things on my end. But it's best to wait a few more days. I have some other situations here..." Derick thought of the monk from the Danlun Temple and explained his arrangements to Feixiao.
After hearing Derick's explanation, Feixiao looked at Jiaoqiu and Jing Yuan.
"This Danlun Temple, what's the situation?"
Jiaoqiu explained the situation of the Danlun Temple to Feixiao.
After listening to Jiaoqiu's account, she nodded.
"Alright, then you continue preparing on your end. When you're ready, remember to move those people to a separate planet.
As for the rest, we'll take care of them."
At that moment, Feixiao also noticed Derick's condition and asked him: "By the way, Derick, you look much stronger now than before you left. It seems you've made progress again."
Derick nodded.
He estimated that it wouldn't be long before he could go find Amphoreus.
He hadn't returned to Amphoreus before because, one, he didn't know how to save it; two, he couldn't defeat Lycurgus; and three, he couldn't find the way back. And in all these aspects, the Flame-Reaver could provide Derick with what he needed.
He just needed to extract all of his memories.
The Flame-Reaver was thrown out directly by Lycurgus, so the route out was very clear. Lycurgus also knew about the Flame-Reaver's mental state and didn't care at all whether he knew or not.
But once Derick took his memories, he would be able to find his way straight back.
And he could bring plenty of help.
Xianzhou Generals, the Genius Society, and so on...
Feixiao was also very happy about Derick's increase in strength, and said in an encouraging tone: "Then keep up the good work and improve your strength. When this battle is over, I'll take you back to the Xianzhou Yaoqing."
If Derick's strength was sufficient, he could be stationed to guard the Xianzhou Yaoqing.
As for Feixiao herself, she would have more opportunities to go on missions.
