Zane almost let out a mocking snicker, knowing Selina had no powerful ally to lean on. Still, she dared to gamble with him.
So bold and daring.
Zane raised a brow at her instead, crossing his arms on his chest. "You'd report me to the authorities and thinks Hudson will go scot-free? What about your him?"
Selina's lips parted, then closed, meeting his eerie eyes as she scrambled through her thoughts on how to escape this. She wouldn't let him see her father as her weakness.
"Who cares about that old man? He can rot in prison for all I care. You don't know how much I want him to suffer for abandoning me without knowing how I'm surviving alone." She spat, forcing her expression to glint with bitterness.
"I remembered, you were the one begging desperately for me to spare Hudson. Now you're sounding like you don't care."
Selina's face turned sour as she berated inwardly in frustration. "Goodness! Can he just stop testing me like some inspector?"
