Chapter 16 - Leah's Fury

At a coffee shop across the street, Leah sat on a plush couch opposite a middle-aged man, casually sipping her tea, though the heat did little to soothe the unease brewing inside her.

She was especially concerned, knowing her husband had been meeting secretly with his illegitimate child. What he might have been planning in those hidden talks was something she couldn't ignore.

Leah's fingers tightened around the porcelain cup as she set it down on the table with a soft clink, her gaze sharp as the man reached into his briefcase and pulled out a stack of documents.

"Where is the report on Hudson's assets that I asked for?" she asked, her tone firm and measured as her eyes fixed on Hudson's lawyer.

The lawyer shuffled his papers before sliding a folder across the glass table. "Most of Mr. Hudson's liquid holdings were in public equities, tech conglomerates, defense, and a few biotech ventures—all legitimate, with high liquidity."
