Coming out of the ballroom down the quiet hallway, containing her rage without realizing she was approaching the hotel entrance where a storm awaited her.
As Selina stumbled out of the entrance, she was met by a throng of angry women, waving vulgar signs and snapping photos with relentless reporters, their cameras swarming like hungry leeches.
Her chest tightened, wondering how she'd move through these people to go home.
Zane had left her and there was no one reliable around. These people were on a hunt for her alone.
She clutched her dress on the sides, trembling. Frozen with ugly memories flashing across her mind.
"Why hasn't she come out yet?" one demanded.
"Who knows? Maybe she already left through a secret passage." another replied.
"I haven't seen her leave. Here's her photo," a third held up a paper before the crowd, each face scrutinizing it.
"Isn't she the girl arrested as Mr. Hudson's accomplice?" someone echoed.
