"We need to focus on salvaging the Group's public image from the mess I caused, not get lost in sentimental arguments," Zane said coldly, seizing control of the room.
"How dare you speak that way! How long have you been married to her, and why keep it hidden?" Chairman Lucas shot back.
"You wouldn't accept the marriage, so that's why I delayed it," Zane replied calmly, already calculating the board's reactions and who could be swayed later.
"If Zane risks our public image for his selfishness, then he doesn't deserve his position," another cold voice interjected, drawing Zane's attention. Those opposing him were allied with Leah or simply at odds with him in the Cassius Group.
