Selina sat on the threshold, waiting for him and deeply engrossed in her sketching design to pass the time, finding relief in it from everything around her.
As time stretched on, she noticed four luxury cars gliding into the mansion grounds. A sudden rush of movement stirred among the maids, their frantic footsteps echoing as they scrambled in and out of the house.
Something was happening.
Selina squinted toward the cars whose headlights made it visible for her to detect the people and spotted Felix among the well-dressed guests, leading his companions inside with an air of importance and cheer.
"What's going on?" she whispered, brushing the back of her hand across her forehead.
But her curiosity was cut short by a weak voice from the side.
"Selina!"
She turned sharply. A maid stumbled toward her, pale and unsteady, clutching a white box to her chest.
"Yes?" Selina answered quickly, eyes narrowing in concern.
