Selina's eyes wearily fluttered open, bracing against the illuminated room as natural light streamed in from the window. It drifted to the door and caught the blur figure of someone standing there, but the figure vanished before she could make out a face.
A sharp soreness pierced deep into her bones with even the slightest movement, drawing a soft wince from her lips. Her head throbbed with a dull ache, heavy and dense, like a stone pressed firmly against her skull, leaving her disoriented.
"She's awake!"
Selina heard Annabelle's voice echoed in the room. She turned her head toward the right side and found Annabelle and Rowan sitting to her sides, their faces etched with furious concern.
"How are you feeling, Selina?" Rowan asked, his voice was warm filled with genuine concern as usual.
She gave a small nod, saying nothing.
"Do you feel pain anywhere else?" Annabelle pressed gently.
Selina shook her head, still lying motionless.
