By the time Anna arrived at the company, the entrance was a churning sea of bodies, microphones, and flashing camera lenses.
Dozens of reporters were gathered like vultures waiting for her. Anna tightened her grip on her bag and exhaled slowly, as she stepped out of the cab.
She had no idea how they had found out so quickly, how news of the shares she had just acquired had leaked before she'd even fully processed it herself.
Aidan had promised to come by later, to explain everything face-to-face. The conversation was overdue, especially about why he was so determined for her to accept the shares in the first place. Until then, she was left with more questions than answers, and judging by the eager crowd waiting for her, she wasn't the only one.
Her mind reeled back to how he had aggressively told her he loved her. She was still finding that very hard to believe.
