With each step he took, the surrounding flames automatically dispersed.
Bang!! A powerful aura erupted forcefully and suddenly.
The spreading gust of wind instantly extinguished the surrounding flames.
His dark eyes slowly opened.
"Is this your welcome ceremony?"
Hearing Kite and the Mad Clown's conversation, Knuckle, who was about to attack, suddenly paused his movements.
'That idiot Kite, is he reliable? Should we attack, or not attack? What in the world is that idiot doing?'
If Knuckle hadn't heard Kite speaking and hadn't noticed that he hadn't yet drawn his weapon, he would have already charged.
Shoot also furrowed his brow. 'Wrong weapon? This is even worse; the enemy is stronger than us, and he's even chosen the wrong weapon!'
'Why didn't he select the most suitable weapon before the battle?' Even Nanzo and Ben hadn't anticipated Kite's ability to be so peculiar, or that his weapon selection appeared to be beyond his control.
In battles between top-tier Nen users, the rhythm is easily disrupted. Even the smallest problem immediately commands everyone's attention.
Kite felt even more helpless now. Because of his peculiar ability, Knuckle and Shoot, after taking their positions, did not immediately launch their attack. Their planned surprise assault seemed to have stalled before it even began.
'If I'd known, I wouldn't have trained such a troublesome ability,' Kite grumbled silently, letting out a heavy sigh.
Two beams of white light suddenly shot out from his body, landing on the ground.
Like drops of water seeping into the earth, two distinct drip sounds followed. "Zenki! Goki!"
Thump thump! The red Zenki and the blue Goki appeared simultaneously on either side of Loki.
Upon the Nen beasts' appearance, Kite's expression darkened considerably.
Zenki and Goki were positioned directly opposite Shoot and Knuckle.
'According to the Association's analysis, even against Enhancement-type Nen users, these two Nen beasts wouldn't be easily defeated!'
'To deal with these two Nen beasts, it seems we'll need some time.'
As Kite was thinking this, Zenki and Goki moved simultaneously.
Their targets were Shoot and Knuckle.
Zenki brandished its battle-axe and swung fiercely at Shoot.
Three fists and something resembling a birdcage flew out from Shoot's body.
Boom! Despite Zenki's nearly three-meter-tall stature, its movements were incredibly swift. With a single axe swing, Shoot only just managed to dodge, resorting to a clumsy roll.
This situation caused Kite to be utterly exasperated.
'With Shoot's abilities, he shouldn't have had to dodge so clumsily. He should have reacted much sooner! Why does it seem like he couldn't dodge at all?' Kite wondered, utterly perplexed.
In actuality, when facing Zenki's attack, Shoot was still deep in thought.
Zenki is a Nen beast; could it possess some special ability? He was analyzing various unnecessary details, which delayed his evasive action, causing him to nearly get hit.
Shoot's performance was far below his usual standard.
Kite then shifted his gaze to Knuckle.
Bang! Goki and Knuckle's fists collided in a direct, head-on clash. Knuckle didn't dodge at all.
"A mere Nen beast, how could it possibly be my opponent?"
Bang! "It's pretty strong! Even a Nen beast possesses this kind of power, but I won't lose."
Bang! Knuckle's performance was up to par; in fact, he was fighting with great enthusiasm. However, Knuckle's head-on fighting style only further exasperated Kite.
Goki, similar in height to Zenki, possessed a massive body and broad arms. It was clearly a defensive Nen beast.
Knuckle was actually engaging in a head-on clash with a Nen beast that obviously possessed frightening defensive capabilities. This was nothing short of reckless behavior.
However, unlike Shoot, Knuckle's seemingly reckless behavior was intentional.
He was extremely anxious. 'What is Shoot doing? Why isn't he attacking yet? Hurry up and cooperate! Can a single Nen beast really push you to this point?' The shrewd Knuckle chose to engage Goki head-on, purely to lower Loki's guard.
But Kite, unaware of Knuckle's strategy, genuinely believed him to be acting recklessly! Their performance frustrated not only Kite but also Loki, who began to laugh.
Two Nen beasts were holding off two of their enemies.
Kite, gripping his large scythe, stared intently at Loki, his left hand adjusting his hat. "These idiots are wasting their energy before even engaging the real enemy."
The unexpected turn of events left Nanzo and Ben, who weren't directly involved in combat, completely at a loss. Their sweat-drenched faces spoke volumes.
At this point, Kite stepped forward, approaching Loki.
"I never expected a team battle to turn into a one-on-one. What a complete failure of a battle plan!"
He spoke as if utterly helpless, but Kite's gaze was exceptionally sharp and intense—a far cry from the disappointment one would expect from a failed battle plan.
Loki also began to walk towards Kite.
"You're Ging's disciple."
Unexpectedly, Kite was surprised by Loki's question. "You know me?"
Loki shook his head. "I'm simply curious about Ging."
"One of the world's five strongest Nen users. How could that not pique my curiosity?"
Kite lowered his head, gazing at the ground before him. "You're only interested in him because of his strength, then?"
"Unfortunately, combat isn't exactly Mr. Ging's strong suit," Kite said calmly.
Upon hearing this, a flame suddenly erupted from Loki's hand, burning fiercely on his arm.
Loki slightly opened his eyes. "Whether he's skilled in combat or not is irrelevant. The important thing is, if I have the chance, I really want to fight Ging."
"So, Mr. Loki, you're telling me this to have me deliver a message?"
"Correct! You got it. If you agree to deliver my message, I won't kill you."
"Not killing us? That's a rather tempting offer."
Kite showed no anger at Loki's words. Instead, he carefully considered whether to accept Loki's proposal.
After only two seconds of deliberation, Kite readily nodded. "Very well. I accept your offer."
Loki was slightly taken aback by this immediate agreement.
However, upon further reflection, he realized that his proposal was entirely advantageous for Kite, with no apparent disadvantages.
Kite's acceptance wasn't particularly surprising; it wasn't an unreasonable request.
It was merely a message in exchange for their lives should they lose.
Why wouldn't he agree?
Reaching this conclusion, Loki found himself shaking his head slightly, somewhat amused by Kite's pragmatic thinking and perceptive understanding.
He purely weighed the pros and cons, leaving personal emotions entirely out of the equation.
A true disciple of Ging, indeed a highly qualified Hunter.
Loki glanced at the scythe in Kite's hand and smiled. "That weapon doesn't seem very practical for combat, does it?"
Kite nodded in agreement. "Indeed, it's somewhat unwieldy. But unfortunately, I have no choice in the matter; the weapons I use aren't something I can select myself."
"Kite, you're still complaining to me? My choices are always correct! Your ingratitude is one thing, but your complete lack of appreciation is unforgivable!"
The Mad Clown's incessant babbling caused Kite's expression to darken further. "Be quiet. Now is the time for battle."
Loki, equally unwilling to listen to the strange Clown's incessant chatter, took a single, measured step forward. "Then let's begin! Let's see just how skilled a disciple of Ging you truly are!"
Boom! An extremely sharp and powerful air burst resounded.
Loki's figure flickered like a phantom, vanishing instantly.
This speed caused Kite's expression to change drastically.
'Remarkable footwork!'
'By instantly tapping the ground more than a dozen times, he generates speed far exceeding normal capabilities.
Just how did this kid devise such a movement technique?'
Boom! While Kite was still processing this thought, flames grazed his head.
His body only lowered slightly to evade the attack.
